I know a lot of folks that use iReal for private practice (soloing over changes in different keys), but switches to Fakebook Pro at gigs. Fakebook Pro uses the same files as iReal for chord charts, but also imports PDF music and many other popular file formats (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.skrivarna.fakebook.android).
I know people are using the MS Surface for reading music. The problem is the limited number of dedicated apps on Windows, so there are a lot of questions about how to run Android apps on the Surface and how to install the emulators etc.
For big size Android tablets, I have been testing Fakebook Pro on the 13.3" Hannspree and know that 2-page view is fine on the huge 21" HP Slate (though it had quite low resolution and is now discontinued).

Cool. Too bad it doesn't allow other apps, a real music reader is so much more than just a PDF browser. If possible, I'd be happy to port Fakebook Pro to a fullsize e-ink tablet.
