I never faced any issues with moving backup folder. I am also using Redmi Note 3 Pro (global stable version). I am saving that folder on my internal storage. After that I connect my phone to PC and simple move that folder. Works everytime for me. Can you send screenshot of error message?
You can try this. Restart your phone and....
Try to save backup to your SD card. And then connect SD card to your computer & try to move backup folder.
For testing purposes, Only backup 2-3 apps and check if it's working or not.
You can also try to send that folder wirelessly using FTP supported file explorer like amaze file manager, solid file explorer etc. If your internet speed is not fast and you want to use wifi hotspot/WiFi direct for file transfer, use apps like airdroid, Feem v4 or superbeam.
Update me after trying these solutions.
For file transferring & sending links from/to windows 7/8/10 /ipad/mac/android/iPhone when they are connected on same network. You can use,
It doesn't send your data to servers for sharing. It works locally & uses some encryption while transferring files. It works even when there is no internet connection or router. You can use wifi-direct in those situations.
If you only want to share files, You can also use send anywhere, airdroid, airmore etc. I won't suggest you to use xender because of ads & it adds bloat features with almost every updates.
If your primary requirement is to send mesaages. You can use apps like telegram, slack , hipchat.
I use different browsers on android & windows. This app is very useful for me.
You can use an app called 'Feem v4' to transfer large files. Install this app on both devices. Connect them & transfer files without using cable/laptop.
I don't know if this is what your looking for, But for transferring. Apk's i downloaded on my phone to my sheild i installed Feem on both devices.
Open Feem on the sheild and also on the phone (or other android device)
Then send files backward and forward within the feem app.
Then i use a file manager on the sheild to locate the apk and install it.
Try Feem, (it works with WiFi/Lan I believe) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.feeperfect.airsend.android Also I like it because you can put it on most things (Windows, android, osx and iOS)
Unlimited file size and if you don't buy it you only have to close one ad(can close instantly) when you open it.
In case you don't like other solutions, Try Feem v4. It has dedicated app for all platforms. It shows a message to buy pro version after sending files. But you can click cancel button. And this app doesn't have any ads & unnecessary permissions like share it, zapya, xender etc.
Otherwise you can use FTP using any supported file browser.
Since I only find iPhone and Mac versions on your website (?), here's the link to The play store
Edit: found it...
This is what I use. It's called Feem v4. Awesome app.
Alternatives :
Using FTP :
FTP supported file managers - Solid file explorer , GM file explorer , Asus File explorer etc.
You can also use send anywhere , Buy, I am not sure if it upload files to its server. But, It has wifi-direct option. Which works without internet.
1.Feem v4 - File sharing & between Android/iOS/windows/Mac. You can also share message from Android to ios/websites/mac or vice-versa using this app.
2.Simplenote: for Note taking
3.Brave browser: Nice browser which block ads. Also Firefox browser.
4.Pocket: I save my all bookmarks to this app. It also has additional features like Text to speech & extract text from web page. It is very useful if you use different browsers on different platforms. It will solve that bookmark sync problem.
5.Send anywhere: File sharing
6.Alt-C: Copy text to/from Android/windows/mac. coming soon to iOS.
7.VLC Player
8.WhatsApp
9.Microsoft apps like,
Yes. You can share files using WiFi direct. You can also share files using WiFi hotspot.
WiFi direct solutions to share files to PC:
WiFi Hotspot solutions to share files to PC:
Wifi hotspot + FTP (using FTP supported file manager like solid explorer, Amaze file manager etc.)
send anywhere can also share files using WiFi direct. But IIRC Wi-Fi direct Sharing doesn't work when you share files to PC. It can transfer files using send anywhere to other Android phones though.
Feem might work for you.
Feem works for me.
You can try these apps.
Feem v4. It can transfer files when devices on same network. It can also transfer files using WiFi direct.
EasyJoin - It can transfer files when devices on same WiFi network. For offline transfer you can use wifi hotspot. It has native apps for Android, windows, linux, mac os. You can also use it to send message, links to other devices connected on same network.
EasyJoin is a new app. Dev. is very active. It was last updated on 3rd Jan 2018. Feem v4 doesn't get frequent updates. Even beta version was last updated on 22 August 2017. So don't expect any new features from feem v4 in near future. Both apps are free. Feem has pro version. Both apps doesn't ask unnecessary permissions. So they are safe compared to those Chinese file sharing apps like zapya, xender, share it etc.
You can use wifi hotspot with FTP to share files to other device. Turn on WiFi hotspot on 1 device. Connect other device to that WiFi hotspot. Use file manager that supports FTP. Type url and it will work fine. If you need better interface that supports uploading files you can use sweech. Just type url in any browser and it works fine.
Feem v4- It has desktop client. Local transfer encrypted with TLS. You can share files by connecting to same wifi network. Or you can use wifi-direct , If you PC/laptop has wifi-direct.
Sweech - Pro version has that password protection
Airmore - you can transfer files by creating password protected hotspot on your mobile.
I was using iPhone & Android for 3 months, untill I decided to ditch iPhone. For me, Android provides more functionality & less restrictions. That was the main reason. Here are some points you may find usefull.
It is easy if you are using 2 Android phones. But, With iPhone, It will make process more difficult. So, best options is to use Cloud options. So, You don't have to manually transfer all photos & some documents. If possible ditch iCloud for photo, contacts & document storage. Use Google's apps. For example, Google Drive , Google Photos etc.
For,
Contacts - Use google account backup option.
Email - Use Gmail.
Photos ,videos - Google Photos. You can install it to iphone & android. You will be able to see all backed up photos/videos from all devices.
Notes - Use Google Keep/One Note
Backup files to - Google Drive
If you are using microsoft word, excel etc. You can word, excel , powerpoint ,One Note. Otherwise use google sheet , docs.
Game data & App data for offline apps - As far as I know It is not possible to transfer game data between iOS & Android.
:::::: Apple services :::::
iMessages/Facetime - I use whatsapp. So, It was not a problem for me. I don't even miss iMessage & Facetime. My all friends, family & other contacts use whatsapp. So, It's very convenient.
Music - I was not using Google play music or Apple music. I was using other music streaming app that work on both platforms. ( Although apple music is there on android , But I can not comment about how good/bad it is on android.)
Other digital content - Never bought any digital content from apple. Because I knew eventually I will move to android.
::::: For local transfer, Invest in some softwares, ::::::
SynciOS/SyncDroid - Free ,supports iPhone & Android
There are also some software from other companies . But, first 2 are good options.
:::::: Wireless file transfer options ::::::::
Some FTP apps or Using File manager app.
Media player - VLC media player.
There are also some softwares/methods for transfering SMS/texts between iphone & Android. I never used it. Because, as I said earlier , I was not using iMessage & normal sms at all.
I never had any email or other issue when I was using iPhone & Android. They both work greart. So, I don't think you will face any problem when you are using them. The only problem is switching & Most of them are easy to solve. Just buy a good android phone.
This is the right one. And btw yeah I've been using it for a couple months and it works great
Feem. Transfers large files between devices, 50x faster than bluetooth https://feem.io/ https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.feeperfect.airsend.android&hl=en_AU&gl=US
Also Feem is excellent Feem Same network needed however
PC to sheild i dont know, but Android phone (or tablet) i use THIS installed on both devices, hasn't let me down yet.
I use THIS APP installed on both devices. It's worked flawlessly the whole time I've had my sheild.
1.Apps that also has an option for wifi direct/wifi hotspot file transfer (Useful when No internet connection & devices are not on same wifi )
Feem v4 - It also has a software for mac & windows.Option for Wifi-Direct file transfer when there is no internet connection. Local transfers are encrypted using TLS.
Airmore - It has wifi-hotspot option when not connected to internet.
2.Using FTP : ( Device on Same wifi)
Any file browser that have FTP functionality [Solid explorer(trial) , GM File Manager(free)]
3.Other options :
Send anywhere - Good option.
Airdroid - It's not limited to file transfer. It has some awesome features.
Personally I am using,
Feemv4. - It can transfer files from/to windows/Mac/android/iOS. It has app/software for every platform.
FTP using solid file explorer & Airmore
Send Anywhere - To share files with links & to share small files. ( Link expires after 2-3 day time limit.)
[ There are options like share it , Xender , Zapya etc. But, they are filled with ads & bloated features. Most of them asks unnecessary permissions. So, stay away from these kind of apps.]
