I've have plenty of money, have played video games since before Atari 2600, and wouldn't even wince at dropping $50 on a great mobile game for my phone that could occupy me in the bathroom or when I'm in a waiting room.
In all these years, I've only ever paid for one single mobile game, Gurk III, and besides Gurk I and II, I've never found a game in all that crap that I would pay one cent for. Sure, some people are making money, but they probably have no idea how much lost potential they are sitting on top of if they would simply clean up the crappy store and sell some decent games.

If you're into turn-based retro RPGs like the original Ultima series, I found Gurk III to be a perfect little mobile RPG. The second is also good, but they really nailed it with the third one.
I also enjoyed QuestLord a few years ago, but it's more in the Bard's Tale vein. Still, great art/music/sound effects, and it has a story to finish rather than an endless grind.
Gurk 3. If u want a good 8 bit rpg. There were more Gurk games but can't seem to find them anymore.
