There are myriad websites and organizations that connect travelers with businesses/hosts/people in general that need cheap short-term human labor.

• Hitchhiking by sea. You can travel to any destination in the world for free by hitchhiking on boats - everything from small yachts to cruise ships. Boats of all sizes are always in need of deckhands - many don't require you to have any experience at sea. They will give you a free ride to wherever they're going and most will even feed you along the way in exchange for helping them do standard boat stuff. • Hitchhiking by land. Once you get to your destination you can work a few hours a day in exchange for free room and board. Here are a few resources:

• Teaching English abroad. Most organizations only require that you get a certification for teaching English (cheap, quick, easy to attain). • Random jobs/ work exchange programs with verbal contracts. You agree to stay and help out for a certain period of time in exchange for free room and board, but are free to leave whenever you wish. For example, you can work at a beach front hostel in the Caribbean doing miscellaneous tasks for 3-5 hours a day with weekends off. These are just a few examples that have appealed to me - they are realistic, safe, and relatively comfortable. Between this subreddit and google you should find everything you need for an adventure to anywhere in the world for extended periods of time and for very little money.
