Spike on Android is great (link to play store). You'll see the emails arrive faster than on the gmail app. It also works cross-platform, so you can use it on your PC, web browser, iOS, Mac.
Its free for personal use and business accounts need to subscribe after a free trial.
Spike has been my main email client for the last year or so.

I'm using Spike since they announced that inbox is shutting down (tried very many apps before settling down on this one). Very happy with it. It has groupings, priority, dark mode and more. Plus it's free.
