Tangentially, there's a great little app called Intent Radio, if all you want is to play internet radio from Tasker. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.smblott.intentradioio&hl=en_GB
Groove Salad in one tasker action:
Groove_Salad (21) A1: Perform Task [ Name:Intent_Radio Priority:%priority Parameter 1 (%par1):url:http://somafm.com/groovesalad.pls Parameter 2 (%par2):name:Groove-Salad Return Value Variable: Stop:Off ]
The common code for any station
Intent_Radio (24) Abort Existing Task A1: If [ %par1 Set & %par2 Set ] A2: Variable Set [ Name:%url To:%par1 Recurse Variables:Off Do Maths:Off Append:Off ] A3: Variable Set [ Name:%name To:%par2 Recurse Variables:Off Do Maths:Off Append:Off ] A4: Send Intent [ Action:org.smblott.intentradio.PLAY Cat:None Mime Type: Data: Extra:%url Extra:%name Extra: Package: Class: Target:Broadcast Receiver ] If [ %par1 Set & %par2 Set ] A5: Else A6: Send Intent [ Action:org.smblott.intentradio.STOP Cat:Browsable Mime Type: Data: Extra:%url Extra:%name Extra: Package: Class: Target:Broadcast Receiver ] A7: End If
I don't think that Android itself can play any music. If you are looking for a really small player I recommend Intent Radio. Plays m3u, too.
WFMU offers live audio streams in the form of PLS files. You can get the URL then use Intent Radio to open the PLS file and play the stream.
It would be something like:
Send Intent
Action=org.smblott.intentradio.PLAY
Extra=url:http://wfmu.org/wfmu32.pls
Extra=name:WFMU
(leave the rest of the fields at defaults)
I don't own bluetooth headphones or speakers, I don't know if Intent Radio will use them if paired beforehand.
try intent radio. it works with some shoutcast streams but not all perfectly
let me know if you get anywhere else with this because i've been looking for a solution too
You can try Intent radio together with tasker.
Meanwhile, Intent Radio works quite well for me, might for you too.
As player I use Intent Radio, fully controllable by Tasker. The alarm clock should have which features?
Idk if it is dectable but you con open Firefox in incognito mode, look here. Combined with AutoShare it opens anytime I click on a link.
For Sleep as Android you need AutoAlarm to query if a "next" alarm is set. SaA couldn't query this by an intent. I have set different alarms with different labels which are acitvated at work days/weekend ("Normal" = work, "WE" = weekend) by intents. But you have to add a profile to run the "get alarm task" every time SaA is closed to fetch the (updated) SaA alarm set up.
Background is I have built a personal radio alarm to smoothly start 5 mins before alarm fires with my favourit radio station (Intent Radio, PlayStore, Github) with increasing volume and stops 60 mins after. VLC can also be started by an intent, but stopping is not very reliable.
My tabs:
I personally don't use naming schemes (other than the profiles for My States, which was an import) because many of my profiles and tasks are anonymous; I consider scrolling past a collection of profiles and tasks (in a magnifying glass lookup) to be slower than simply avoiding seeing them. Some profiles and tasks I'll name with emoji, just to shorten them.
