Back again to recommend my weather app: Kairoskopion!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.saladdressing.ottotest
Kairoskopion (which means "instrument that observes the weather" in Greek, for those wondering) was made to be a simple and to the point but also very, very beautiful app too. (my mission statement is to make every screen look like a printable poster that you wouldn't be ashamed of hanging on your wall ).
For this reason, I kept everything to a minimun: you get the current conditions on the main screen, a five day forecast on another and -if you click on a day on a forecast- you get more details about that specific day.
Options are also kept to a minimum: choose between Celsius and Fahrenheit, automatic location or manual location entry and "pin" a color theme that you prefer. You also get one widget about the current conditions, which will be augmented soon with a weekly forecast one.
It supports KitKat and Lollipop. It's nicer on Lollipop because of the activity shared element transitions but it's not too shoddy on KitKat either!
Enjoy!
Hello again! Once again, I'd like to post about my weather app, Kairoskopion:

It is intended to look pretty, show the basics about the weather and perhaps cheer you up a little!
This week's updates brought some much-needed changes to the way the app looks on a tablet (previously: like crap, now: less like crap) and some stability improvements. Still working on a weekly widget (it only has a current conditions widget for not).
Hope you'll like it!
After taking my time, I have finally added a widget to my weather app, Kairoskopion. For the time being, it just displays current weather info in a very minimalistic way. A weekly forecast widget is coming but I didn't want to make the people that were asking for a widget wait any longer.
The widget inherits the color theme and temperature units from the parent application and I'll make it more customizable as the app development progresses. In the widget list, it's listed as "Current Kairoskopion". I hope you'll like it!

Here we go again! My weather app, called Kairoskopion, may be a simple app but it sure looks lovely, if I may say so myself. It is constantly being updated with bug fixes and MORE STUFF! It's completely free, with no ads (they would mess up the look so it's a no-go for me) and it uses forecast.io for the main app forecast and openweathermap for the widget data.
Try it out for yourselves here:

After halting development for a month (I had some personal problems that really brought me down - life can be shitty sometimes) I am resuming development on my weather app Kairoskopion!!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.saladdressing.ottotest
Upcoming features: more widgets, multiple locations.
It's a colorful, pretty app for Android 5.0+!
Here we go! Again, posting about Kairoskopion, my free and ad free weather app that's simple and pretty:

The widget is almost done. Also, touch the temperature in the main screen and, if the weather is right and the stars align, you may get a nice auditory surprise!

Hey guys and gals, it's crazy hot where I live! Thank god I have Kairoskopion to confirm it for me!
Kairoskopion is a very simple, very beautiful weather app for people in any climate. It works on Android 4.4+ (6.0 confirmed too!).
Check it out and if you like it spread the word! It's free and ad-free.
I just updated my weather app Kairoskopion, with some much-needed stability bug fixes!
Kairoskopion is a simple weather app that is more about aesthetics and general mood than detailed weather prediction. I tried to make the app have the sort of whimsical, retro-infused mood and feeling that wouldn't look out of place in a vintage sixties film. Let me be even clearer: if the guests at Blake Edward's The Party somehow had smartphones, this is the app they'd be checking out! :)
In the pursuit of that, it can be humorous (people are still using Fahrenheit?), sweet and romantic and sometimes a cinephile (especially in the widget).

A pretty big update is coming with new widgets and some nice easter eggs (hint: I'm also a semi-pro composer)
Enjoy!
Hello! It's been some time but this week I updated my weather app Kairoskopion to work on KitKat (previously Lollipop-only) and allow the user to select location manually!
Enjoy:

:)
And it's me again!!
My weather app Kairoskopion just got a bit more customizable this week, with a pin next to the settings icon, which pins the current color scheme so that the colors don't change after each refresh/startup.
A note for the people waiting for a widget: it IS coming! In fact, the design is done. What's taking a lot of time is using the OpenWeather API for the widget instead of the Forecast.io one. Unfortunately, Forecast.io only allows 1000 calls/day for free so I just pay for the rest (it's not VERY expensive so I don't mind for the time being). However, creating a widget will make those calls skyrocket (because of automatic refresh all the time) so I'm not releasing a widget until OpenWeather is integrated. Just felt a need to explain since I have been promising it for some time.
Anyway, here's the app:

I have been posting my app Kairoskopion for the past two weeks because I have been improving it quite a lot. This week I have bug fixes (location/battery/performance ones) and the most requested feature by far implemented : Fahrenheit degrees are supported! (Press the settings icon at the top right of the main page to choose).
Coming soon: widget, theme customization, some nice surprise i don't want to disclose and in the medium-long term, Jelly Bean+ support and tablet optimization!
Enjoy!
Once again, I am presenting my weather app Kairoskopion (which is Greek for "instrument that observes the weather").
When I started creating the app, my goal was simple: I wanted to create a weather app that looked great (in fact, my original goal, which I'm still aspiring to was to create an app in which each screen would look great as a poster to be printed and hanged on your wall!), worked consistently and didn't overwhelm the user with too many options.
That said, some people may find it too simple: you get the current conditions, a five-day forecast and more details about any day on that five-day forecast. Plus a simple, current conditions widget (I'm adding more widgets in the future). Honestly, if you're looking for lots of details and minute-by-minute forecast or raindrop count per second, you won't find it here. :) But if you want something simple and beautiful, just go ahead and download it here (Android 4.4+ required):

Hello again! Yet again, I'm posting about Kairoskopion, my weather app! It's gotten a significant update in the past week, with daily details that you can reach by clicking on the day you're interested in in the weekly screen.
We also noticed that we had exactly 666 downloads so we have released the Dark Lord edition as an update in the Play Store and made Fahrenheit that default unit for a couple of days!
Get it here:

About three years ago I released the first app I was really proud of, a weather app called Kairoskopion.
It was meant to be a really simple weather app, with each screen of the app looking lovely. I really wanted each screen to look like a poster that you'd be glad to print out and hang on your wall.
It got a lot of praise for its looks but as the years went by and new versions of Android came it, it started looking and feeling janky.
So I went ahead and created a refreshed version that has better animations, looks better but is not more complex at all. Some people will hate it, some people will love it, hope most people are in the latter category!
I just uploaded the update, it should be available in a couple of hours. Thanks!
Nice feature! I had some surprising downloads for which I still haven't found the source of (my app was coasting along at 2000 downloads in the span of a year and suddenly I got 5000 more in a matter of days). I also got half-featured on an Android Police article about the best weather apps on Android ("half-featured" because my app was in the "other" section) and I also did a paid promotion from which I didn't really see a lot of benefit.
Anyway! Where do we send you our apps? :) If you meant post here, my app is called Kairoskopion and it's a weather app for 4.4+. It has a 4.3 star average on the Play Store and 5k+ downloads so it fits your criteria. Here's the link:

Ah, that time of the week again. And again, I'm posting about my weather app, Kairoskopion, which has just been updated. The update will be in the Play Store in a couple of hours, I guess.

Just some words:
It brings minor bug fixes but the sort-of-big news is that I've started work on using the OpenWeather API instead of the Forecast.io one. Since the app is free and also ad-free (adding ads would just ruin the look), I have to use a free service for the weather data from now on, since the requests are getting more and more daily. Forecast.io only gives me a thousand requests for free while OpenWeather gives me A LOT more (something like 3000 per second) for free.
Since I'm also working on a widget that's going to get refreshed at least once an hour (which means at least 24 calls/day per user) I have no choice but to go OpenWeather. For the time being, it's still using Forecast.io.
It's Kairoskopion. ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.saladdressing.ottotest )
