MusicBee Remote: I use MusicBee music player on my laptop. The remote app complements it perfectly. It sources the album art and lyrics and you can control everything. It's somewhat Material too.
Custom Quick Settings: On Marshmallow? You can create custom quick toggles. It's pretty cool.
Thanks for your answer. I have a oneplus 7 pro.
The phone screen resolution and the monitor don't match tho, i don't want mirroring.
I mostly want to keep my phone screen for whatever i wish to use it while plugged and a "secondary space" where i would dedicate as i say to things like showing the content of this app for example: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kelsos.mbrc&hl=fr
But if the only option is mirroring there is still two issues:
Honestly if i wanted to overengineer the shit out of it the ideal would be some arduino linked to wifi who broadcast the screen or something, leaving the usb-c port free. But i don't think there is an easy & elegant solution to my problem.
It's just me being obsessed about the fact a monitor is taking the dust for 2 years now x)
For reference the App will show album art, visual volume slider, access to the full library as well as ability to reorder and delete from the active playlist. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kelsos.mbrc&hl=en
Here's mine: http://imgur.com/vV6Fmkd Nothing too fancy. It's clean and minimal. I wanted to fit in the album art and lyrics separately, but couldn't find a good layout to do so, so I have them on separate tabs.
Skin: Metro Skin v3.5 - Flat
I have "Skin Windows Borders" disabled because I didn't like the skin's borders, and I use MusicBee Remote Android app to control the music from my phone. I love the app.
I'd love to hear your suggestions on how I can improve it, or any cool tips and tricks.
You could use MusicBee Remote to access your library from your phone, but there are no announced plans to port the player to any mobile operating systems.

A couple of options to try. The forums on the musicbee website are generally very helpful with any issues you may potentially have. Hopefully these do work for you! (Sorry for formatting, on mobile)
MusicBee with the MusicBee Remote
https://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=28093.255
Basically, you install the latest musicbee beta
Then install this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kelsos.mbrc
In musicbee, first sync your phone with a USB cable
Then go to settings, device and "enable Wi-Fi transfer with Android devices"
Accept the firewall prompt
That's it. Use the Android app to sync ratings, play counts and playlists. Works with GoneMAD and Poweramp. Works even on Direct Wi-Fi.
