> When I feel angry, I need to slow things down...mindfulness is good for this. I have an app called "OMM" (one moment meditation) and literally, all you do is breathe in and out for a minute but it works for me.
Nice tip! Is this the app? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.onemomentmeditation.omm1
Hi guys!
I don't think I posted yesterday; I didn't have a chance to sit down at the computer (where I have my goals).
So yesterday was busy; we went to a flea market and found this awesome glass cabinet with a (working!) light super cheap... We had a very serious talk (fight lol)... I went to morning yoga and the hubby went to evening yoga, plus I did the food shopping for the week... And it was very sunny. :)
>And on to the accountability part...how's your day going?
Today is going fine!
The puppy is 12 weeks now, so we took him to the vet to get his 12 week shot - now he's officially cleared to go outside and even meet other dogs. Wee! :)
I have been having a lot of problems with anxiety though - it's because I am so sleep deprived. I usually sleep 10 pm - 5 am or so, but sometimes I don't go to bed until midnight... And I always sleep very lightly and wake up as soon as I hear little paws on the floor. (Typically 2 am and 5 am, when he needs to go out.)
The meditation habit is amazing for this. It helps so much. Feels like I was somehow meant to do that goal this month, to learn how to become calmer.
Operation Happy Puppy:
Do my best to groom, train and care for my dogs every day.
Went to the vet, did follow training in the forest afterwards. Started a habit for the doggy to sleep on a pillow next to me when I do the meditation. Will try to get him to do that every time.
Food goals:
Only buy food on Sundays
Did this yesterday. But I'm going to change this goal - I don't feel like I need to go shopping every week, however I do feel like I need to be able to shop if I see a good bargain etc.
Try to cut costs for food
Cook more interesting food from what I actually have
I haven't cooked anything interesting at all, for the past 2 days. I've been too busy. I've eaten too many digestives with peanut butter lol.
On a good note though: I actually wrote a blog post today on my recipe blog, and added the recipe for Salty Caramel Popcorn. :)
It took me forever to write the post!! I wrote one sentence, had to run to do something with the dogs, wrote 2 words, had to run to the dog etc etc, it was super stressful. But I did it.
Stop throwing food away
Exercise goals:
Implement a Yoga / Meditation habit
So this is fantastic. I am able to do the 1 minute meditation every day and started to really look forward to that habit. It's helping immensely with my anxiety, too.
Typically it goes like this: I boil water for the dog's food, and use some of it to make myself some tea. While we wait for the food to soak, I sit on the floor and do the meditation. I use the app to meditate one minute, then I set the timer on my phone for 10 minutes. I read the book for those 10 minutes and do a few more meditations when the book calls for it.
Recommend.
Chores:
Take care of plants daily
Today I was finally able to get out in the garden. I cleaned a lot, feels great. What a relief.
The glass cabinet I bought... I will try to turn that into a greenhouse (indoors) to grow lettuce :)
