I know I probably shouldn't post my own stuff, but unless you're keen on finding that exact museum-based app that the Google guys used, one of my experiments is essentially Orbulus minus effects and has the quick sphere-to-sphere transitions using a button: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.cmdr2.places . A few people I know use it to demo VR to others. YMMV.
Hey /u/shooteredditor I believe they're planning to add Cardboard support using WebVR soon, but if you just want to see those Flickr 360° photos on Cardboard, you can try this unofficial Flickr viewer: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.cmdr2.places
Disclaimer: I wrote it, but you know, it is meant for exactly the same purpose and fetches from the same Flickr group, so this fits here.
Have checked-in stereoscopic support along with an index of ~~8~~ 15 stereo equirectangular panoramas that I could find using Google Images. The build is version ~~2015.10.13.0~~ 2015.10.13.2 on Google Play (have published, but Play takes ~2 hours to show the new version). To enter stereoscopic mode, tilt the Cardboard 90 degrees (just like the Cardboard demo app), otherwise you'll stay in 2d mode.
You know, I can use some help finding good stereoscopic panoramas, does anyone know a good collection? :) The ~~8~~ 15 currently in my index are listed here: https://github.com/cmdr2/panorama/blob/master/Assets/Scripts/Recommendations.cs#L34
Re: switching to specific users - that's a good idea. Currently it loads random images across all users. I kinda like HamburgerJung's work and yeah would be cool to narrow down into that.
I just saw that flickr vr is only for gear vr. you do have this in the play store wich almost does the same thing from flickr
