If you find unciv to be confusing, try watching some tutorial videos on youtube for civ 5 as unciv is basically civ 5 for android but with a much simpler graphics. I found it hard in the beginning too, but after a week or so I got the hang of it. Also unciv has its own discord channel, the community is very friendly and they'll be glad to help you.
For strategic games I'd recommend trying disgaea 1 complete which is one of the best srpg for anyone who likes grinding and making super op characters and it's got a funny story too.
partia 2, partia, partia 1 these three games are inspired from the game boy advance fire emblem games, I haven't tried them but they do look good.
rebel cops this is a solid turn based srpg akin to the xcom games.
this is the police 2 and this is the police the first game balances story and gameplay and it's kinda light on the action, but according to what I've heard the second game is more focused on the gameplay.
Templar battleforce this is a game by the famous Trese brothers and it is one of THE best strategy rpg games on android, you've got a lot of different classes with a huge huge skill tree, lots of different scenarios and branching paths in story. This is truly an awesome game. Ps check out their games all of them are awesome especially star traders frontier.
strike team hydra, its a clone of the xcom games but without the base management.
