I used a presentation from a friend to study for it. It is the same presentation they use during the week long seminars. Spent 4 hours a night for 3 weeks studying. Also used a phone app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jquiz.pmp&hl=en I used everything I did in the army to count towards the hours, "a project has a definite start and finish" Running a range, any planning and exercises, Action officer assignment kinda stuff. For the education requirement I used CLCCC Concept of support class. Very similar to the 47 processes just with different names.
I have a friend right now going through the Syracuse program right now. http://vets.syr.edu/ Might work for you. He is only doing it for the PMP.
I would go for MBA first then a masters in PMP or program if you want to go down that line. From talking to my new mentors the MBA shows you have the business savvy to rise in the ranks.
