Hi
I have always want to play "piano" on Korg volca sample but do not really spend much time to think about it. But after reading the above comments, I have made some observation on my testing and find that the speed of the volca sample is mapped to the music note by the simple relationship
10 unit of speed increase = 4 note increase.
You may want to change the speed and note, and verify the fundamental frequency. I use my own android app (free) at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appspot.harmoncepstrum to check.
Beside that the volca sample is shifted by 64 note. I do not really know how to explain it but you can create an app and do a midi out in binary to your volca sample if you are interested. So it is possible to play volca sample chromatically after all. And I make a quick video on my setup and upload to youtube. It is about an android app to play volca sample with korg microKey. You can use it for free and it works with other midi keyboard.
