You get those 7 soul tickets from finishing the PVP fights. In addition to that, you get 5 soul tickets every 75 minutes. That's roughly 67 free soul tickets per day if you were to somehow make the game auto grind all day and night. The game even tells you when the soul tickets have recharged. I understand why you're buying the soul tickets, but it's better to save orbs for x2 gachas. Once your orbs dry up, you're pretty much stuck with what you got unless you get more freebies from KLab.
I really love the game... but then, I use an autoclicker to recall my mage. Progression is slow but I still get it when not actively tapping away with my fingers.
It's semi-idle, in that generally you'll not have much of interest to do in between recalls, but I agree that the game requires a hell of a lot more active play than its name would suggest.
edit: oh aye I was meaning to plug that autoclicker, because it's useful for many idle games on android: repetitouch
It requires root, and I've linked the free ad-supported version because you'll definitely want to test it on your device first. Full version was like £5 when I bought it, and the app has more than enough useful features to justify the cost.
I use Repitouch now - HiroMacro stopped working.

Edit: You will need root for this or any other autoclick solution on Android.
Rooted Android users I suggest https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cygery.repetitouch.free&hl=en simple app that lets you record touches.
Edit: there's a pro version, that I use personally, which is even better
Hiro Macro does NOT work on Android 6.0+. There was supposedly a test version that worked, but the project was abandoned and never updated.
I've used reptitouch successfully on other things, but you have to make your own macros from scratch. The paid version removes ads, allows panel movement, and allows integration with things like Tasker, but the free version will work just fine.

It was actually developed by someone over at XDA, so I'll link his thread for if you have any issues.
Give RepetiTouch a shot if you want to automate that part. I've been using it for a while after antonlabz mentioned it in the chat.

Like this one?
Try this (need root) Repetitouch

This one is awesome for root users
Sorry, just looks familiar.
Repeti touch is good for clicker games or sliding games like make it rain or any repetitive game

I haven't tested it yet, but RepetiTouch is a touch recorder
not sure but yeah tasker coupled with RepetiTouch might do that will require root though.
I repeated my test with RepetiTouch, which records touch input and plays it back. Ball trajectory is identical with or without a Razz Berry. I'll try to get a video up, but there's not a lot of wild Pokemon around where I am currently. I'll have to use the slow motion recording on my Nexus to show the ball movement. I don't know if you have a rooted android, but if you do and are willing to test it yourself, I'm sure all of Reddit would appreciate it. Otherwise I could probably get a video up tomorrow or late tonight.

The ball arcs if you arc it at the end of your throw. That's by design. You don't have to spin it to get this effect, you just need a tiny movement when lifting your finger. Flying perfectly straight wouldn't really make sense.
I tested again with a touch input repeating app. All throws fly the exact same way when replaying the touch. If it arcs, it arcs every time. If it flies straight, it flies straight every time. The berry doesn't change anything, the only thing that changes is when the user throws the ball. Identical tosses always do the exact same thing.
If you're rooted, I'd appreciate it if you try it yourself. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cygery.repetitouch.free
