Someone really should make some kind of simple games that you can just play on a touchscreen without needing to read a bunch of lore or craft things or mess with graphics settings.
You know, maybe a game where you throw birds at tower of blocks. Or, like, a game where you match brightly-colored candies on a grid. What about a game where you just plant crops on a farm, and you can help your friends grow their crops? Why haven't any developers made a simple game where you play as a bird that has to jump through gaps in green pipes?
I feel like this is a huge unrealized demand. Like, someone could make billions of dollars if we could just figure out how to put one of these... "casual games" onto some kind of touchscreen device that everyone already has in their pockets...
To be serious for a moment, Sage Solitaire iOS Android is the game that hits that spot for me right now. No level-up energy system crafting bullshit. Just a very simple game with a decent amount of depth. Similar feel to Threes/2048.
So basically it is a solitaire card game where you try to remove all the cards by making poker hands. Don't worry if you don't know all the poker hands, there is an in game button that you can tap that will show you all the hands. Apparently the game is quite popular on iOS and I can see why. It looks very nice and is really challenging.
There is 1 IAP to unlock all the game modes and also allow you to change the design of the card backs and the table. Not necessary, because the basic game is good enough. I bought it to support the dev and show these iOS first guys that there is money in Android too.

Obviously biased but Zach Gage also made Sage Solitaire before FlipFlop and we think it's pretty great.
