I'm working on it for myself right now. I'm going the meditation route, and just started working with a multi-disciplinary body worker (different massage disciplines, reflexology, etc).
I trained as an opera singer, but circumstances have put me in a spot where I have to manage my family's business. I've become super stressed and really disconnected from my own body (singers are usually paying attention to everything internally so it's been really frustrating being this out of tune with myself), gained about a hundred pounds, feel like ass, and basically work and sleep and do nothing else. I live in a town where there are no musical opportunities for me, or teachers that I could work with.
I find that weight is directly related to my mental state, the better I feel, the more weight kinda falls off with minimal effort. So I'm trying to sort through my bullshit, while being aware of (but not meticulously) what I'm eating to stem the tide.
anyway, there's /r/Meditation or /r/Buddhism (or /r/secularbuddhism) if this kind of thing appeals to you.
There is an app called Sattva which has guided meditations, tracks time spent, spits out patterns etc. I don't know if there is an iOS version of it, but I assume so.
I'll probably be looking for a counselor/therapist/whatever-the-term-is in the next little bit as well. I'm drowning in work, so the only upside is that I have enough disposable cash I can pay for all these sessions with people. There are usually community programs out there that offer some time with counselors, and a lot of private practices will have sliding scales to help people that might have some trouble with the fees.
Anyway, that's my plan of attack, ymmv.
Good luck, you can do it!
Try SATTVA APP. It is one of the best meditation app on playstore. Lots of guided meditation. You'll love it.
Sattva is the best meditation app, as for me
