Oh man, this is gonna be fun!
Totally haven't researched it very much since they cost waaaaay too much for me to even dream about, but for visual use, I totally wouldn't mind a big Webster dobsonian with GoTo (mainly just for the tracking) stationed in some sort of permanent roll-off roof or dome observatory in my dark skies (something good enough to keep the bugs/mice out during the day and perhaps have a heater for the winter months if I needed to work on the scope then). Then, it'd be great to have every single eyepiece that TeleVue makes (at least the ones that produce an exit pupil <7mm with the scope I choose), as well as Lumicon's 2" UHC, O-III, and H-beta filters for nebulae work. After that, add an optical finder (70mm or 80mm APO maybe? :D) to complement the Telrad that ships with the Webster scopes. To help in collimation, I'd get a Howie Glatter TuBlug. Oh, and then maybe SkySafari 4 Pro on a decent-sized tablet to aid in star-hopping. One other thing I might consider if I feel like transporting the thing is a purpose-built trailer. Finally, toss in a Paracorr to get rid of coma. :)
Oh, and if budget allows, how about investing in some good ol' active optics? ;) Heck, maybe even just launch yourself a space station/telescope and buy a space shuttle to get yourself there on-demand! No more worries about seeing!
Clear skies! :)
Not sure, I found it on google image search, but it looks like it could be SkySafari Pro - an awesome Android app I use myself. Not cheap, though.
