Hands down the best articulation app on Android is Speech Essentials. Its a pediatric articulation app and your student can download just the sounds he needs for $1.99 each to ensure it's not too expensive. It will run on both phones and tablets and if you purchase it once you can load it on all the devices that share that same Googleplay account, so if the Dad wants he can also put it on his phone so he has it handy if they are waiting for a dentist or whatever. It has: - Word level flashcards with built in audio queues that are real recordings (not a robot voice like other Android apps) - Sentence level flashcards - Rotating sentence option - A matching game - A wordfind game (which may be a little basic for the age you are talking about) - A mirror function that allows the student to see their lip and tongue placement It looks really good and is easy to navigate. Good luck!
Speech Essentials is new, but it is definitely the best speech therapy app available on android. Watch the video or follow the links to check it out.

Speech Essentials is great, although the artwork is probably geared towards kids, the functionality is great for adults. Here are a couple of links if you would like to try it out. This is the technology generation. Try using an App, kids love them. There are some good ones for iOS but the best on Android is Speech Essentials. It has a couple of games built in that are fun for any age group and a mirror function so they can see their own tongue and lip placement, the ability to save scores, and is very visually appealing to children. You can get it here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.speechessentials.speechessentials Here is some more info: http://www.speechessentialsapp.com/
Good luck with clinicals!

You could also try Speech Essentials. It is a great articulation practice tool with some fun built in games and activities. The rotating sentence feature would be great to facilitate your Wh- questions. It sometimes creates wacky sentences that kids think are hilarious. Definitely want professional help, but because it can be expensive utilize an app outside of therapy to continue to practice what you learned in therapy. Here is one I recommend. It has a function that turns your phone or tablet into a mirror so you can see your own tongue and lip placement while you form the sounds. HEre are a couple of links:

If you have access to a tablet, get the Speech Essentials App. It has word and two kinds of sentence flashcards, a mirror function (so you don't have to fumble with a mirror while teaching articulation), two built in games, and a built in scoring system that does a lot of data collection for you. It sorts the data by child, sound, and word position and will help you track progress over time. It's essentially many tools in one. It really depends on the school. I started out working in the public schools and then started my own private speech therapy practice. I now work with a couple of charter schools in the area (not exactly private) and don't find that there are many major differences other than pay. I make a lot more working privately but don't have benefits. The public school I worked at had a special education unit so I spent a lot of time working with severely autistic children and have slightly less of that at the charter schools, but that is probably unique to my experience. Hope that helps! Jenni https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.speechessentials.speechessentials http://www.speechessentialsapp.com/
My husband is not an SLP but is very involved in my private speech therapy practice. I do the therapy and he manages the business. In addition we also collaborated to create a new speech therapy app for articulation called Speech Essentials. We noticed there weren't any quality Apps out there for Android devices and gave it a shop. I wrote the content, he put together the business plan and managed the programmers. Because of his involvement he attends the ASHA conferences me when I go, even though he is not an SLP. Here is a link to the app if you are interested. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.speechessentials.speechessentials http://www.speechessentialsapp.com/

Through a company I receive about $35 to work at a couple of local charter schools. I have not been given the amount they are making but I assume it is in the $60-$70 range, so I am bringing home about half. that said the company I work for covers my insurance and their half of FICA so that makes up for some of the gap. In previous years I was a contract employee, and definitely noticed the difference in take home pay when I switched to a W-2 employee. Make sure you know which you are going to be. The Number 1, best way to introduce yourself to a little kid... compliment their shirt. Kids almost always have something they like on their shirt like a dinosaur or a cartoon and they love when you notice it. Great common ground to start building a relationship. Give it a try! Cheers! Started out with a masters degree in the public school system in Utah before starting my own private practice. My salary was only about 35K per year plus benefits for a full time caseload... but that's Utah, were all public school employees aren't paid all that well. As I moved to work for a company that contracts with local charter schools to provide speech therapy services, I started getting $35 per hour, but almost no benefits. Hope that helps! check out the Speech Essentials app. It has a built in scoring function that saves data while you run thorugh flashcards or play games. It saves that data by student, sound, and word position and tracks progress over time. This is a pretty amazing app for how cheap it is.
