Splix.io is the game that paper.io cloned. It's actual pvp (check the description) and it's way more fun imo. Definitely check it out.

Alright I just added an update, but it's beta only. If you press the blue button at this page you'll become a tester: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.Jespertheend.splix Once you've done that you can download the beta from the regular store page. (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.Jespertheend.splix) The title of the app in the store should say 'splix.io (Beta)' it might take a while before it does this. You can then download the app from the google play store normally. You can see if you have the beta version installed properly if it shows 'build 17' or higher in the bottom right. Once you have it installed there should be a file at /storage/sdcard0/Android/data/com.Jespertheend.splix/files/socketlog.txt I made some minor changes to the networking so that might as well have fixed it, but if not, could you send that log to me?
