Super Stickman Golf 2 sounds really cheesy/dumb but it's quite a lot of fun, and free to boot.
Uniwar is a cool little pseudo-civ clone. It's really pricey though unless it's gone free-to-play. If you're a big civ fan you should at least check it out.
Add your friend and take turns over the course of the day. You get to watch your opponents' strokes before you take your turn and you can lol about them together using the built in messenger.
