Nice method! If you feel like taking your organisation electronically, have a look at Swipes:

Could be right up your street!

Moral of the story: be less helpful!
To-do lists are my savior! I use the app swipes and it is a lifesaver for me. They have an app for both my computer and my phone and I feel so productive crossing things off my list.
"Swipes takes an interesting approach to the old-fashioned to-do list: it uses a series of swipe actions to organize things in the manner of Inbox or Mailbox. Surprisingly, Swipes is an established iOS app... that has come to Android with a Material Design from the get-go. The app uses dark and light themes for you fickle types, and integrates with Evernote for backups".
Second this. I have a comment below for OP but here is my input:
>Replicate the look of Swipes for Android (but less buggy, integrate with GCal, and features below).
> Here are some other features that I'd love (I'll add them to the other comment too to increase visibility).
> * Labels
> * Night mode
> * View mode: all, certain label only, upcoming, etc.
> * Notification Actions: In an hour, Snooze
> * Notification Swipe Action: delete, mark done, do nothing
> * Snooze menu: in X hrs | today: morning, afternoon, evening, night | tomorrow morning | two days | next week | Custom
> * The features listed by other commenters
> Thanks for considering this project :)
I'm actually developing a shopping list app of my own right now, so I guess I'm in a good position to review this. I've just tested the app out and my overall impressions are that it is quite a solid, well-built app. I do have a few pieces of criticism, but nothing hugely negative;
The text you show when there are no items in the "Buy List" tab is boring. Either work on the text style (especially colour) a bit more or see if you can incorporate some imagery.
I'm not a fan of the shade of blue-green you use on the Toolbar in "Buy List" tab. This is the first screen users see when they come to your app and that color lowers the tone and makes it feel sort of dingy, in my opinion. I'd swap it out for something a bit brighter. It's worth noting that the other tabs are both absolutely fine.
I can't swipe between tabs and that's annoying. If you want a good example of swiping done right, take a look at the app, conveniently named, Swipes.
Wish I could have tried out syncing in this build, though hopefully I can do so in the future.
Swipes is a material design tasks app that lets you create repeating tasks and also has a notification containing your tasks.
Swipes sounds pretty close to Clear. Hasn't been updated in quite some time though...
I personally love TickTick and is what I am using at the moment. It has all the features you want plus the additional syncing with website.
I don't know why everyone keeps suggesting Keep for a todo/reminder app. It's good for the occasional reminder, but I needed something more robust and TickTick checked all the boxes.
Swipes lets you put off to-do list items for the evening/weekend/etc., but it's much more of a today to-do list. It is far more flexible than other to-do list apps though, so I think you can use it in the way you're describing..
Definitely recommend you all check out Swipes. I've used pretty much every To Do list app out there and I haven't found one that competes with its simplicity and effectiveness.

Also, try Swipes. I've been using it for a while now and like it.
