My second app, but the first one I really tried with. It's purpose is simple: you get a notification every day with a new task to try. Some examples:
Read a new book
Go on a walk
Count how many times you laugh today
I'd love some feedback, especially on the notification part (they fire off at 8am every day and within 5 minutes of first use)
I'm essentially a self-taught programmer (currently in college, but all my classes up to this point have been "reviews" for me). The best way for me to learn is simply by doing.
For example, earlier this week I wrote a simple timer script in Python. I tell it when to start and stop the timer, then it calculates the time I spent and saves it to a file. You can look at it on GitHub.
I also browse ideamachine.io and although there aren't many good ideas, occasionally I'll find something I think I can do like my Android app TaskRandom.
Granted, neither of those programs are beautiful nor are they necessarily "best practice", but I'm still learning and when I can, I make improvements.
Basically, I just find a project that seems interesting and I try to make it. I use StackOverflow religiously and so I've been able to learn that way. You just have to find what works for you!
