If you're already running Tautulli/PlexPy, there's also Remote for Tautulli by the same developer on iOS and the official Tautulli Remote on Android.
There's already an Android app for Tautulli, hasn't been updated for a while but still works fine - Tautulli Google Play
I use the Android Tautulli Remote app, it's dead simple to scan a QR code, voila you're all configured with your Plex server.
But I think I know what you're referring to, I recently saw some alternative that streamlined the process of collecting metrics and pushing them to a dashboard (Grafana?), without the hassle of having to spin up your own VM just for metrics
I believe this is essentially the same thing, but requires manual setup. I used it for ages (on iPhone though) before swapping to Varys.
