I'm using this file explorer: Tetra Filer Free. Seems like it preserves the original date stamps. It can only compress and extract in ZIP extension tho. Can you check it?
What do you need with the file manager first? If you just need basic operations, then Tetra Filer Free is quite good:
- Super light, under 1MB
- Can view, edit, cut, copy, paste... files and folders.
- Extract and open zip files
BTW I found a good contender myself — Tetra Filer. Looks very clean and very slick, but sadly hasn't been updated since January =( But MicroSD access works.
So, do you have any experience with android devices?
If not, first thing you need is a Google account, to connect to a wifi and to log into the play store. That's where you find and install the games. You should also probably install something like chrome, etc. Go into the play store settings (grab the slide out menu from the left edge and go to the bottom of the list, or try the menu hardware button if the playstore is still the old unupdated one) and disable auto updates. This thing can't take most modern versions of the apps, so you're better off with the old ones.
Second, some games or apps can't be found on the play store but are still worth installing like the oid emulators or the emulators collected here. For that, in your security settings, enable "install apps from unknown sources". Grab a file explorer from the play store like tetra so you can go and open the .apk files you download, which are basically just install files for apps. You can find in those links the lightest emulators around, give them a go and see what suits you, personally I really like the oid ones.
now your questions:
1- grab an app called app backup and restore from the play store, it can back up crash bandicoot or any other app to your SD card, should you need to.
2- sadly, Sony never released any games for the Xperia Play in this format, so you're stuck with emulation. I recommend grabbing either epsxe or Fpse which both work well. I think there's a couple other ones you can try, maybe psxoid? I haven't tried it personally.
3- Grab it from the play store
4- see n°3 - actually, scratch that, it's too new, and won't run. Same with GTA, you'd need a custom rom and overclock to get it at half decent speeds.
5- see list of emulators provided above, roms are at your discretion. Also look into Drastic, sadly Reicast(dreamcast emulator) is out of the possibilities of this machine.
Have fun!
