I try to avoid the cloud services whenever I can accomplish the same without having to leave my own network. Been playing around with UDP Sender & kinda like it.
I have several LimitlessLEDs with the WIFI bridge as well and control them via Tasker, they work great. Dimming when Kodi is playing is something I've wanted to set up as well, I just found http://www.reddit.com/r/tasker/comments/2qvugc/tasker_code_kodiyatse_status_and_set_live/ that might help (going to give it a try myself). Edit: Only used the first 2 steps and it works great! Just make sure to enable the broadcast in Yatse settings.
For controlling the lights I use UDP Sender, with a command like udp://255.255.255.255:8899/0x350055
, though you would need to check out the documentation to find the right commands.
Mmmm, I see... I have been searching more and I've found that MiLight (easybulb) has an API, but I've compared it to the one that provides LimitlessLED in its website and, personally, I find more interesting the one that provides LimitlessLED.
So, if I mainly want to control my bulbs with my mobile phone, would you recommend me to buy LimitlessLED? I really love programming and making my own scripts for testing the functions that they have. Searching I've also found a Tasker plugin that lets you send UDP packets to the bridge.
I'll be open to more suggestions, but if my mind doesn't change, I think I'll stick with the starter kit that LimitlessLED provides.
Thanks for your opinion!
At the moment there are some tasker plugins that may help.
