The main game is similar to Risk without all of the Luck Based Elements.
However there are some Diplomacy like games ran by the community which are pretty fun and each have their own Custom Settings.
I took part in a 200 player diplomacy game recently and got destroyed lol. It was fun though.
If you want to create your own you might have to play around with it a little though as the gamemode settings are quite specific. Also you have to be a certain level to unlock specific features which can be time consuming.
yup, there's just the game for it - warzone
i remember playing it years ago, but after all the new fancy wargames came out i drifted away from it. states.io basically works on the same premise as warzone (iirc) took some scrolling through my google playstore downloads but it was worth it
Warzone dev here -- it is playable on iOS/Android! To do this, install the Warzone app ( Android / iOS ). When you first run it, it will put you into Warzone Classic. Hit the red arrow in the top left corner to close that, then you'll find Warzone Idle in the bottom right corner.
This will become easier once it's out of beta, at that point Warzone Idle will get its own separate app.
Warzone - Risk-like, turn based strategy.

Apparently it's been around for a while, but I had no clue about it until my brother recommended it recently. Now we play it daily, along with our other siblings and friends. It's a great asynchronous game that can also be played in real time if you prefer, or take turns at your leasuer. There are all sizes and types of maps that can go quick, or span days.
It has a pretty good in-game chat system that helps make it more sociable. I've texted/talked with my brothers over the last few months playing this game than we had over the previous 5 years.
It's also available in the browser, and it's linked to your mobile account: https://www.warzone.com/
While at the PC, i'll use the browser, then while I'm in bed or elsewhere, I'll use the mobile app.
Warzone - turn based strategy. The only thing you can buy is a subscription that gives you more customization when creating your own multi-player maps.
