>Haven't used it in ages but I think you can try AirDroid for wireless file transfers. Hope that helps
I would run a webdav server instead, I've had decent luck with this: link. You can easily map it to a drive on Windows and Linux has native support. Even better if the device is rooted, you can access anything.
AirDroid is mighty slick but in my experience it often spits out corrupt .zip files - test it carefully before going this route.
I've found that the file transfers are extremely unreliable, especially multi-file zip archives from the phone to client PC. Compare them bit for bit and they're almost always corrupt in my experience.
EDIT: I guess if I'm going to complain I should at least provide an alternative. I've been using "WebDAV Server" instead. The same company also makes an SSH server, and they offer free and paid versions of both.
>s it because im moving the files from my phone's SD card?
yes, it seems it is not presenting the card as an actual disk
you could try this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.theolivetree.webdavserver&hl=en_US
or just take the sd card out into a card reader
Is your purpose only transferring files? I'm using these two solutions on my MBP running High Sierra, with both my Android mobile and MBP connected to same WiFi 1. Occasional file transfers- install Feem.io apps on both Android and MPB. Viola, works like charm. It is like Shareit. 2. For routine trasfers Install https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.theolivetree.webdavserver WebDAV server app from playstore on Android. Select the folder to by synced. On the Mac install WebDAV Navigator https://apps.apple.com/us/app/webdav-navigator/id382551345 Fire both the apps and transfer files.
Actually for syncing install "Droid NAS" on Android. This app is no longer on play store, but a simple Google search will give you the APK. I haven't recently used it, but this is to give sync option and makes Android folders visible as Bonjour computer on Mac.
Comment if you need any help.
Lots of suggestions here, but my personal favorite is running WebDAV server on the android device. You can start and stop it with a single click, it supports password protection, and you can map it to a drive letter in Windows.
AirDroid is OK for single files but in my experience it corrupts multi file transfers
I like this app: WebDAV server. Just start the server on the tablet and then mount it as a network drive on your PC. They have a paid version with no ads, but you only see the ad when starting/stopping the server and it doesn't interfere with transfers. Can be password protected as well to prevent other people on the network from accessing the device.
Looks very cool. To confirm you need to have WebDav Server installed on the main device?
Also, have you looked into Join at all? Even though it does require it be installed on any/all devices to send files between, it is quite useful for many purposes.
I run this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.theolivetree.webdavserver&hl=en to let my phone run as a file server on the local Wi-Fi network, then use Windows' "Add Network Location" to connect to that IP address, then transfer away. I think there is a file size limit, though.
