Yes, if it's only for home plants then it should be good since it's not for eating and such.
About the other app I was referring to this one. Sorry I should have included a link before.
I use Takoboto for offline. Mix between just Google Translate (easy handwriting recognition) and Weblio for online. Weblio has ads out the wazoo, so I only use it as a last resort on mobile, but its dictionary is pretty great for a little more nuance.
It's here. The app itself is technically in Japanese but it's pretty straightforward and can handle the same kind of searching. It's right here the Android version.. Kenkyusha is the J-E dictionary in Japan. Weblio uses an abridged version of it as its main dictionary, but it does also pull from EDICT and a few other dictionaries.
One could buy a Kenkyusha app but it's not that cheap. I literally just bought an old paper copy for $1.
I use the Weblio dictionary.
Are you talking about this app?
I've never used it, but in the past i've tried stuff like:
Japanese by Spacehamster (Currently using)
Spacehamster is the best out of those^ (feel free to prove me wrong on that) but it crashes somewhat often. Kinda annoying when you're trying to identify a kanji quickly.
I'm looking for a dictionary you could use on-the-go and for studying. Something with example sentences, verb conjugations, kanji lookup, flashcards, etc. all the apps I linked above have SOME of these, but I don't think any of them have ALL. So i'm wondering if there's a dictionary that checks all these boxes ya know?
Have you used any of those apps? What sets Weblio apart from the rest?
There's nothing I've found that has been completely satisfying.
I don't want to pay over 1万円 for the Kenkyusha dictionary app, although that looks ideal.
Weblio has a decent app version of their website, and I use that a lot.
Actually, what I've started to do must recently, is I've bought a Sanseido subscription, and I'm using the Hermit app to turn their website into an app.
