I forgot the name but I am referring to the 3 and a half hour version that includes the director's cut of the film with the animated pirate story spliced in it like the graphic novel.

Here it is, you can find a torrent of it as well.
This is just plain wrong. I actually have DVDs from a limited release they did (I think in 08) of the original Theatrical versions. People act like they straight don't exist but they are just very rare. But you can bet if those DVDs exist then Lucalfilm/Disney has digital copies somewhere
In case someone doesn't believe me, here is it listed on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Trilogy-Widescreen-Theatrical/dp/B001EN71DG/ref=tmm_dvd_title_15?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=
Lucas did release the theatrical versions on DVD. Here's a box set that contains both versions, but I remember getting the single DVDs from Wal*mart for a lot cheaper.
Amazon sells a copy of the whole series for ~$65
Other than that I couldn't find any place that was streaming the 97 anime.
The 97 Anime covers the golden age arc and while it has its flaws its overall a pretty good adaptation. Fun fact: the production studio that made it has only ever worked on two IP... Berserk and literally every pokemon anime.
In 2012 they produced a movie triligy that also covered the golden age arc. The animation is CG, though decent despite this, and the story more closely follows the manga... but the pacing suffers as they essentially crammed more content than the 97 anime into 1/3rd the time. Some prefer the latter, some dont.
Then in 2016 they took a dump.
Assuming you're in North America, there's really only one line of DVDs in print for the first Dragon Ball TV series: the five blue season bricks. These were released from 2009-2010. That's all there is right now, and they are readily available on sites like RightStuf and Amazon. There is no word on any future re-release of the series, remastered/HD or otherwise.
If you are exclusively watching the franchise in English and are for some reason or another incapable of being convinced otherwise, please watch the Kai version of the Dragon Ball Z portion for something resembling an accurate script and atmosphere.
Real talk: entire franchise, Japanese with English subtitles, beginning to end, no items, Final Destination.
Just taking a look for a second, I found this box of war on ebay for $125, which is about what i paid for mine. Seller has 100% positive feedback and includes photos.
I’m guessing you might’ve seen this one if you’ve already checked amazon, but again its sold by a highly rated third party so it’s probably legit. And it seems they use amazon’s return policy so that shouldn’t be an issue either. As far as the price goes, I can’t say if it’s cheap or not but it seems reasonable to me.
¯_(ツ)_/¯
They released a dvd set of the OG trilogy that has 6 disks, 3 are the "enhanced" ones and 3 are what I'm pretty sure are the original ones. So unless I'm mistaken, there are copies left that aren't VHS or whatnot.
Here's a link to that specific version (which costs a ton now) where the top review mentions that it does contain the original versions: https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Trilogy-Widescreen-Theatrical/dp/B001EN71DG
*Edit: What's sketchy is that the amazon listing merges several box sets together, and only the blue one with Luke & Vader clashing is the one that contains the OG versions.
That's actually not terrible for the Box of War set considering that it's a limited edition box that has been out of print for ages. I would definitely make sure of the condition it's in before considering buying it though. Some of the ones I've seen listed for "cheap" in the past were in pretty rough condition since it's such an old set. But all of that aside, the one drawback of that set is that it's an older release. There was a remastered release that came out later on, and you can buy it on Amazon for $68 brand new.
That's pretty much the only practical way to own the 1997 series in North America at the moment. There was a Bluray re-release in Japan and the UK, but the Japanese release doesn't have English audio (the dub is actually really good), and the UK release went out of print and is region locked to boot. The UK publisher is doing a steel case version soon, so if you have some means of bypassing region lock and want to own the series on Bluray, then that's your best bet.
Bruce said it was his favorite gig of all time. I have the complete series on DVD. Bowler's low chuckle still gets me.

I believe this is the DVD set RLM had:
12 movies for $6.99. That's value!
It's dirt cheap on Amazon, 13 bucks for the full first (and only) season.
Just order the collection. Its still in stock on amazon
A series of films by Andy Sidaris. They always featured copious amounts of Girls, Guns and G-Strings . Various Playmate, Wrestlers, Pat Morita, throughout the series you never know what's next. It's softcore porn with a heart. Joe Bob Briggs introduced me to it on his old Movie Channel Drive-In show. So thanks to him. Guilty pleasure. Give it a chance.
i mostly agree with this version, just one thing; FotR have an annoying green tint, TT and RotK dont have it, and regarding the 4K for me looks better, but it frozes couple of frames during the Battle of Pelennor fields... ive seen people saying their discs are working perfectly, so, is your choice now...tbh i've watched the my DVD boxset more times than the other 2, i dont know , for me this is the one that looks better
Yes, I got that one a few years back, this is the link:
Holy moly it's gotten expensive! Hopefully there are places you can get it cheaper than $180
You can get the complete Andy Sidaris collection here for less than $7. If you love bad B movies, you need this!

Release order.
If you can get your hands on a theatrical release, do it. You can poke around online to find the "despecialized editions" that fans have put together or you can purchase this: https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Trilogy-Widescreen-Theatrical/dp/B001EN71DG
Both of those options might be more trouble than they are worth.
I don't know what region you live in, but if you're looking for a North American or NTSC/Region-1 release, then the remastered "blue brick" DVD sets are the overall best option currently available. The original DB series hasn't been made available on Blu-ray anywhere yet that I'm aware of.
I bought the first season off of amazon. Other seasons might be a couple bucks higher though.
I’m happy your enjoying it as well!
Dragon Ball: Season 1 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002FOQXTQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_oR2mCbCZ9NZ8K
All Andy Sidaris films are available in this collection for $8 on Amazon.
Girls, Guns and G-Strings: The Andy Sidaris Collection (12 Film Set)
It's a fun watch.
I have been on the periphery of this very heated online discussion over the years around bringing back the original movies. I'm a bit confused though, is it just a question of bringing them to blu-ray? I have owned this set for a long time and I thought their selling point was the theatrical versions. Is there a different version than that people are excited about?
here you go: The Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy - Extended Edition (Twelve-Disc Special Edition) https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B000654ZK0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_FVqpCbKYSQWF5
one does not simply spend $350, so cheapo alternative if you want it: The Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B000787YVI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_MXqpCbNG4GHAM
You can probably find it for cheaper on ebay
You would have to buy it. This DVD set is the one to get
I have it, excellent set. It comes with both the original editions, and the 2008 updates.
I was looking at the box that had both of these at Wal-mart but I remember that looking at vol 2 on amazon the back of the box says that Godzilla 2000 and Godzilla Vs MechaGodzilla II have English audio. Are those English dubbed and have no Japanese audio or is it some weird labing thing going on? EDIT also do any of the movies in Vol 1 overlap with this Godzilla collection because it looks like 2 of them do. https://www.amazon.com/Godzilla-Collection-Vol-Yuriko-Hoshi/dp/B000VXWK86/ref=pd_bxgy_74_3?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B000VXWK86&pd_rd_r=YQT4GKDFT3MGHP0SY00B&pd_rd_w=FIXcK&pd_rd_wg=KD8sX&psc=1&refRID=YQT4GKDFT3MGHP0SY00B
The Godzilla Collection (Vol 1 and 2) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000VXWK86/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_eoC2ybWVS81WH
That's the one you want. For blu ray, some (Smog Monster, Sea Monster, Gigan) have good stateside releases, most though you'd have to get the Toho blus, which are great but undubbed and unsubbed.
