I have four daughters, yes! I teach college myself (not my full time job but I wish) so you better believe I push education. My oldest is 17 and already has enough college credits to be a Sophomore, she loves learning so much. Last week she got her ACT score back and got a 32 so I think that will get her into most colleges. Unfortunately some of her choices are the extreme Christian ones that hate gay people so I wont support those but we will see what happens. My second daughter doesn’t care for school as much but who knows what will happen, yes though I push education a lot. I let them know that girls have brains in their head and shoes on their feet and they can change the world. The littler girls at night I read a book called Daring Girls and I tell them stories of great women who have done so much with their lives.

Guys, I super recommend this product on Amazon I recently discovered (sorry for the link). I've spent hours on it! The book is huge and it's a really cool experience to slowly discover the picture! They have a lot of great things that are similar too!

Why are the same books sold for $54 on the official dnd site also being sold for $30 by an amazon team called Wizard RPG Team? Is their a difference, as if I buy from the amazon team i still get everything that the official website sells? book in question is this
The Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide (SCAG, for short) is rad. Brief histories of the Sword Coast and other parts of Faerun by region. Profiles on the various races and classes. Couple new class archetypes and a few new spells.
Amazon has the SCAG on sale now for 31$.
I also recommend Matt Forbeck's DUNGEONOLOGY book. It has a mini-setting manual on the Forgotten Realms (FR) but also has the best map of the Sword Coast in print to date.
You can also easily ignore the mechanics of previous editions and just focus on the flavor text in the campaign setting guides.
If you can find the 3e or 4e FR Setting Guides on eBay or Half Price Books for cheap, they are pretty useful.
The Volo's Guide to series from AD&D are boss as well; V'sG: to the North, to the Dalelands, to the Sword Coast, etc. They should all be on the DMsGuild in PDF for dirt cheap.
When all else fails, look for FR setting books written by Ed Greenwood (Volo himself); Ed is the Tolkien of the Forgotten Realms.
If you're looking for an adventure to adapt that's set in the Astral Sea there's Hunt for the Heretic in Dungeon #203 http://www.dmsguild.com/product/155343/Dungeon-203-4e
The upshot is that there's a pirate ship that's been raiding the world from the Astral Sea and the authorities want to bring that to an end. It's geared toward players around level 14 or something like that so you'll need to pull the numbers back quite a bit, but the bones of it might make for a fun adventure--you might even make whole different encounters with different, more level appropriate threats.
Another suggestion if you want to go with a published adventure would be Horde of the Dragon Queen. At the end of that adventure you end up teleporting to a somewhat unusual location to face off against the main villain. That final battle could just as well be on the Astral Sea, at which point the PCs might find themselves having that place to themselves, as in they have a stronghold (ehem and potentially a dragon friend) to enact their Skyrim fantasies as they fly around IN THE ASTRAL SEA!

Storm King’s Thunder is a good follow up IMHO.
But LMoP has loads of side quests and continuations built in to it. You don’t have to move on too soon, if you don’t want.

That adventure takes place in a setting called Forgotten Realms, in a particular region called the Sword Coast. In the Sword Coast alone there are far, far too many important NPCs to name. All you need is to know the NPCs in your adventure.

I overestimated how transferrable my knitting skills are, and I was using a different hook size, so this was uh. hard. too many frogs were involved. there were so many points when i was thinking, “yeah, i’m never crocheting again” LOL. but it was definitely worth it and now i love crocheting! the top’s cozy and the colors look amazing :’) my photos don’t do it justice, but I think I’ll style it with a white tank & wide leg pants
this was my second crochet project — my first was a mini Spidey (last pic) from a Marvel superhero crochet kit my brother gave me. it was pretty easy to follow, so I would recommend it for holiday gifts! it just doesn’t come with a whole lot of yarn.
ANYWAY, pattern was from cutiekittycrochet on YT, and the yarn was Brujeria Lana’s Watermelon Jelly in Heathen Squish DK (her store’s closed right now). I used less than 1 skein, so that was suuuper satisfying. I’m thinkin of making matching earrings

Seconding embroidery! I’ve bought the kits for Christmas. Sure, I have not actually finished one of the two yet 🙃, but it’s a nice distraction when I need it! Like others here, I’ve also enjoyed trying crochet Amigurumi. Lastly adult coloring books! There’s a geometric color by number thing that is super mindless (and kinda tedious, but it works for me!) I’m kinda all over the place with distractions and pick up one when I get bored of the other.
I was one of those kids who were taught that meditation and yoga cleared one's mind for demonic influence. Also, those really cool "magic eye" images (famous books were made about them in the 90s), where you have to kind of cross your eyes to see it? Yup, that was teaching you to use your demonic "third eye" that Eastern religions talked about.
If you were worshipping a God that wasn't "The God" (New Testament version of the Biblical God), then what you were worshipping was Satan. Even atheists "worship" Satan since all of their actions are not in service of God. If you're doing a practice that came from another religion (in this case, according to them, yoga), you're also worshipping Satan, even if you think you're doing it for the glory of God! (For instance practicing yoga to help with the upkeep of God's temple, which is your body). I was taught that every single action we do is either for the glory of God, or not. It's really quite funny because all of our holiday traditions are pretty much taken from other religions, but they just kinda don't teach about that.
My guess is you don't live in a super Bible-belt type area, because none of these teachings were uncommon among classmates/friends' experiences. (I live in the U.S. South in a very Christian area). The constant stress of wondering if your actions are truly in service of God was so fucking intense, I don't miss it. And I didn't even come from one of the super fundie families.

I don't think they've ever published a guide to the whole world, but let's be real, no one really cares about the rest of it.
- Not particularly? It's not that I don't care, but I wouldn't say I consider it putting love into it. I want to make a good piece, but at the same time some projects require dozens or hundreds of hours of work, and I really don't have much of an attention span. I'm lucky if I'm knitting the right stitches at the right time and maintain a stable tension.
- I definitely think even a simple handmade item (of any kind, not just knitting) is more charming and thoughtful than a store-bought item. Most of my friends (and I) who do yarn art use things like Red Heart, so in your example with the wool vs cashmere, a wool sweater would be a big splurge for them in addition to the time and energy it takes to make an item. I'd be really appreciative of something like that.
- I guess it depends on what you'd consider a kit. If you're thinking of, for example, the themed amigurumi kits that come with pre-cut yarn and a cheap hook, I likely wouldn't. I got one for christmas a few years back and have only partly finished one of the figures. If you're thinking of something more like a bundle - like yarnspirations, where you can pick a pattern, and they have a list of everything you need right on the page and you can buy everything (or just the materials you don't have) from one convenient place, I'd be much more likely to do something like that. I've don't a few stuffed animal gifts, but I usually prefer to gifts wearables or afghans.

My bf loves Star Wars so I bought a kit on Amazon that came with material for a Yoda and a Stormtrooper. The stormtrooper lives on his rear view mirror now. Yoda came out a little wonky but I think he’s so adorable!
