An air fryer is a damn revolutionary little device which can also dehydrate food. It has a very small footprint on the counter, doesn't heat up the kitchen in summer when you cook in it and crisps up food like you fried it in oil, without frying it in oil. When I got one, I dragged my toaster oven out to the garbage by its electrical cord and threw that bitch in the can.
I got a Cosori Air Fryer, awesome device so far, cuts down on using the oven big time and everything's come out great. For oil, I just use a 100% Avocado oil spray, works great and doesn't change the flavor at all (no smoke).

This is not nearly as good a deal as Walmart had a few weeks ago.
We’re a family of 2 and I still would get a 5 quart or bigger

I have this and I use it almost daily. It's so versatile and easy to use. Yes it makes hmgreat chicken, etc., but it makes the best damn grilled cheese you'll ever have, too. The only time I turn my oven on is if I have to make something that's too big to fit in this (AND this isn't super small).
It was an instant pot duo, it came with the standard pressure lid and an air fry lid. I use both functions fairly often, and I was a skeptic going in (more towards the air frying side). I saw that they’re selling after market air fryer lids now, and I believe the premise is the same, but the functions are built right in to the machine on mine.

I use it all the time. It’s just me and it works fine.

Depending on how much you have to spend I would recommend a couple of different things. I had a slow cooker, an air fryer, and an Instant Pot when my sister and I downsized last year, smaller house = much less counter space. We have since then upgraded to the Instant Pot Duo Crisp ~ $120, which takes the place of all three. You can look in the Amazon Warehouse and pick "used - very good" option (banged up box basically, but the item was fine, it's packaged extremely well) as the others list "cosmetic damage" which could mean unseen damage that they couldn't see. In my opinion the cheaper price isn't worth the risk due to the pressure cooking aspect.
If you can't afford that (totally get that, not judging, I had to save up for a while to get mine) I would go with one of the cheaper ones others have listed or look into a slow cooker or air fryer.
Cosori I wound up getting this big one to fire up for larger portions for guests, etc.
Really any size will do it, though. Some nights I’m lazy and throw wings in there for 40 minutes and they always come out perfect. Fries come out perfect in 10 minutes. You don’t even need oil, just throw stuff in there and it just cooks.
I'm a landlord and there's literally zero chance I would allow this. If you don't use the oven, store stuff in it.
Look into an airfryer/toaster oven option like - https://www.amazon.com/Cuisinart-TOA-60-Fryer-Toaster-Silver/dp/B01K0W8LTE - for most bang/buck/space efficiency.
what u/harleyquinn1234 said. its basically a fryer, but instead of regular deep frying with oil, it fries stuff with hot air convections. and the lid works on most 6qt IPs. i bought it from amazon https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07VF7J5VQ
Not sure if it qualifies as buyitforlife but here are a couple of decent products with good price
Ninja FD401 - $150(Normally $200) https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07S85TPLG
Simple Modern Insulated Water Bottle - $18 (Normally - $24) https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07NR69PTS?th=1
I have the cuisinart ovenfryer - not sure its the exact size you’re looking for but might be worth taking a look. amazon link
From the looks of the crumb tray and fry basket, I believe it’s the Ninja Foodi Digital Airfryer. I just bought mine at Costco, but here’s an Amazon link:

I gotta chime in... My GF got a Ninja basket air fryer a couple months ago, and it's amazing. Perfect pizza rolls in like 10 minutes that are crispy on the outside, but somehow not dangerous lava on the inside. Same with frozen cheese sticks, jalapeno poppers, etc. Haven't tried fries.
And also wings: Better than restaurant quality, from a bag of raw frozen wings, in about 30 minutes. I bought some pizza-place wings the other day and they just weren't as good. Grab a bottle of good wing sauce to toss and you're good to go.
Also salmon, roasted veggies, roasted chickpeas... And it's pretty easy to clean.
I have one of these. Its a bit pricey here, but you can find it cheaper at other places. Its Amazing! For air frying & its a toaster/convection oven as well. It replaced a lot of oven cooking,

For me it is a good deal bc my husband has been hounding me to get an air fryer. I have limited counter space and my storage is about max. So, it's cheaper for me and my situation to buy an attachment for the IP... than it is to buy another device that's about the same cost, but possibly does less and takes up more space.
I didn't buy my IPs both were gifted to me, therefore I'm not sure of the cost. They were bought around Nov.-Dec. so the people who bought them might have very well gotten a black Friday deal or some other kind of deal.
This promotion is also the same at another retailer. William's Sonoma.
The IP air fryer duo crisp bundle on Amazon, it's $149. So it's $9 more for this bundle than it is for the regular price of the attachment, which is on a discount, so yeah. I think for what my needs are, I found a great deal. I surely don't need another IP for an air fryer when I already have two IPs.
Edit: fixed some typos.
Thinking outside the box here, instead of using the oven, go for an air fryer on a table with pull out baskets. Way easier to use, cooks a lot faster and uses less energy than an oven. Arguably healthier too!
Something like this perhaps
Use this around my budgies and conure all the time, have had it for a year now with no issues.
It's an 11 in 1 Instant pot, I got it as a gift for my birthday, but you can also buy it online. Here's a link to it - https://www.amazon.com/Instant-Pot-Air-Fryer-One-Touch/dp/B07VT23JDM/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8
Ma'am let me tell you about the magic of the air fryer this is our bad boy here we got it got free because our aunt didn't appreciate them like we do. It's not just for entrées! Want to roast a side something but your oven is too full? Air fry it. Feel like making ramekin cakes but you don't want to preheat the oven? Pop those bad boys in there. Make an entire roasted meal for the picky eater in your family in it.
We're a family of 4 with no small children so its a lot easier for us but it honestly does come in handy when you want to roast/bake something at different temperatures but you don't feel like waiting. If you eat meat it makes the most delicious reverse seared steaks that come out perfectly every time. It's cut down on the amount of fried foods we eat too because we just air fry it instead. I really just wanted to gush about an air fryer, downvote away
microwaves are shit and destroy any food value. worst thing to have in a kitchen. its unhealthy to use. throw it out and get a toaster oven. 100% better than a microwave. then you will never have this worry again. i recommend this one. https://www.amazon.com/Cuisinart-TOA-60-Fryer-Toaster-Silver/dp/B01K0W8LTE?ref\_=ast\_sto\_dp&th=1&psc=1
That is exactly why I purchased an oven-type air fryer. This is the one I have. It even has a rotisserie for chicken, fries, etc., if you want to use a rotisserie.
This is the one I have and we (2 adults) use it instead of an oven. It helps with portion control and it cooks faster than an an oven. I even make mini-pies in winter that are single-serving.
This is the oven-type air fryer I have and it is wonderful. My very first air fryer was the basket type and I soon determine that I also needed the oven type. There are times when I am using both at the same time. Am also going to post of link of the basket type I have. I also have IP brand pressure cookers which are wonderful. With these tools, I can once again cook the way I did before I became disabled. Just use different methods. Also, whatever you get, don't forget to experiment and find out what cooking time and temperatures best fit your families eating desires. Recipes are just a guide and there are very bad recipes out there that should not even be in print; and there are also very good recipes out there. You can take your ravorite recipes and figure out how to convert them to whatever cooking method you are using.
I second this! I have this Ninja model and I love it! I use it way more than I thought I would. Fits four bagels, plus I use it for mozzarella sticks and fries, it’s really great at reheating pizza.
