Gura was (and still is as of this post) playing Skyrim when she got to 2 million, Skyrim has a meme that it's ported to everything (even Alexa), so now the logical step is to be ported to higher, more abstract concepts like vtuber milestones
Guys, it's real.
Holy fuck, how did I miss this. I recently geared up my home and they did this perfectly, that's fucking hilarious.
what the absolute fucking hell, it's real.
Although he can do a lot, Sam won’t be able to help with Shopping, lists, reminders or Skills.(https://www.amazon.com/Samuel-L-Jackson-celebrity-voice/dp/B07WS3HN5Q)
Yeah, I'm bummed Mr. Jackson won't be my weekly reminder to take out the trash.
They announced Skyrim for Alexa. www.amazon.com/Zenimax-Media-Inc-Special-Edition/dp/B07D6STSX8/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8
They were joking though.
He also said, "Sometimes it doesn't just work."
Skyrim has to this day been released on 6 different platforms, but many of these releases cane after initial launch so it’s been a joke for a while that the game will release on every platform known to mankind.
So you might see it being launched on a Game Boy Color or an Apple Watch, or even a graphing calculator (though it hasn’t actually been released on those platforms).
A 7th platform is the joke that Amazon pulled by releasing the game on Amazon Alexa: [link]
So even Amazon joined in on that joke.
It just seems the meme is making it’s rounds again... and it’ll be back when they release it on ANOTHER platform.
I've not tried it myself, but there's an Alexa version of Skyrim that is played entirely via voice commands and audio feedback: https://www.amazon.com/Bethesda-Game-Studios-Special-Edition/dp/B07D6STSX8
I believe you can download an Alexa app to play it on a smartphone if you don't have an Amazon Echo.
Alright for anyone wondering:
Although sonos says "unavailable in your country" this is simply not true.
What you need to do is:
This will effectively let you use Alexa, no need to change your country or anything, but Alexa doesn't have all its feature if you aren't in its supported country (such as geolocated stuff)
Shoutout to this link where I found my answer:
*Hue Smart Home skill is not compatible with scenes from the Philips Hue app Gen 1.
Compatible with: Philips Hue Bridge V2 (square shape) to add support for Philips Hue scenes* and rooms. On, off, and dimming of lights is already supported on both Philips Hue Bridge V2 and V1 with Amazon manufactured Alexa products (e.g. Echo, Dot, FireTV).
Sorry, perhaps I miscommunicated. The link you were posting is a special kind of amazon link that has a tag on it that makes money for the person who created the tag. Perhaps you didn't realize it because someone else shared it with you.
Automoderator doesn't allow those kinds of links, but you can post clean ones like this with no issues:
Purchase the Samuel L. Jackson Voice pack $4.99 then use the Alexa app and turn on Celebrity wake word.
Here is a link for your XBOX. If you have a smart TV it should be pretty easy to do in the Alexa app.
Take a a look at Skyrim for Alexa.
The biggest challenge comes in creating good writing. Even if the game isn't 100% story-based, you'll have to set the mood with words and entertain.
Not making the user-input commands feel super repetitive is also something to consider.
I used this skill & followed the instructions.
Based on what you name it, you can use the Alexa app on your phone when you're away to start it up.
After [Smolder Scrolls Online]([link]) and [Skyrim Very Special Edition]([link]), I don't think I can be surprised anymore.
Skyrim was released in 2011. And 2016. And 2017. And now in 2021.
You can add another release in 2018 if you consider the Very Special Edition as a release
Perhaps I'm thinking about the Destiny 2 app for Alexa. I thought it went through DIM but it looks like it was made by Bungie. So it might not be available via third-party yet
> What do you mean? It’s literally the game that is on everything.
Including the Amazon Echo. I'm just waiting for them to port it to my fridge.
>I was looking into to developing a skill much the same as the one you have already made. Is there a chance this could be ported to amazon UK as well as america? If i can help you in anyway, translations for example. Please let me know.
>This skill would be a big leap forward for Alexa in the UK in terms of home automation and i'm exited for any future development.
You already have it in the UK (also US and MX). It has been slow to leave due to certification issues :-)
Wake on Lan skill
The App is not in the Xbox Store, it‘s in the Amazon Store and Xbox System Settings:
Amazon owns Ring now and they have a security system with door sensors, so maybe look to see if there is a way to do it that way or wait until they add functionality like that.
I use Z-Wave door sensors with a Z-Wave hub and I have a touchscreen interface in the kitchen with Imperihome app installed and the tile for my door sensors flashes RED when the door is open.
Here's how to set it up and here's where to buy him
You could probably enable wake-on-lan and then wake it via magic-packets which is probably what OP's other laptop does using Alexa
This would probably work. You might need to use an Ethernet adapter though.
Jokes aside the Skyrim Alexa app is shockingly well done for a meme. https://smile.amazon.com/Bethesda-Game-Studios-Special-Edition/dp/B07D6STSX8?sa-no-redirect=1
Saw an ad recently showing that you can hook up Alexa to your D2 account and she can do your loadout for you. Not sure if hoax?
You don't need an Echo device but you do need to make sure the Hue Skill is installed, configured and enabled correctly. Once done, all your Hue devices should become available to Alexa, both via the remote and within the Alexa app itself.
Can you trigger alexa routines with webhooks? If so, shortcut -> POST or GET webhook -> Alexa.
I personally use OpenHAB instead because it's open source and Amazon is a little bit evil.
Edit: This is what you want. https://www.amazon.com/Thomptronics-Virtual-Buttons/dp/B08259XK1Z
You should know that there is an voice only skyrim version for AMAZON ALEXA called Skyrim Very Special Edition.
Heres an youtube video.
If you want to trigger an Alexa Routine with Webhooks, you can use the Virtual Buttons skill. If you want to trigger a notification -- like what you get when Amazon Shopping sends you a shipping notification -- you can use the Notify Me skill.
Check out the Virtual Buttons skill. You can create website/URL shortcuts to trigger any routine you want, though it does cost $1 a month after the initial trial period. See www.virtualbuttons.com for more information.
Don't some smart fridges have Alexa built in now? Why not play Skyrim very special edition on your fridge?
Edit: Here's the trailer for it.
It's already on Alexa actually. It was inspired by that ad.
I eat all the cheese!
But have you earned all the achievements for the Alexa version!?
Thanks for the response. I tried again and im still getting the same unable to link to xbox message. Just to make sure im trying the right skill, is the address below the right one?
Its real? i don't own a Alexa device to test it on so not sure if Amazon is just trolling :P
oh my god it's real
Just buy an Echo Dot on Amazon for $29.99 (it's currently 40% off). The Alexa Ghost Skill by Bungie is free.
JFYI: Looks like because of the holiday season, the Echo Dot won't be back in stock until the end of the month (or January).
I don't have any bulbs that change colors, so I have not tried it, but it does show that it has that capability here. Of course, you need to have a bulb that is capable of changing color for it to work (not all are).
Well Philip Hue works the same for some of their devices, as long as you have the Hue Hub.. You just press the button the Hub, and Alexa will discover it on the network. But your control is limited. (The Echo Plus is only required if want to eliminate the Hue Hub)
>Basic lighting functionality (on / off / dimming) is available without the Smarthome skill and is compatible with Philips Hue V1 (round) and V2 (square) bridges. Philip Hue Skill
I use these also (again because no skill is required and I don't need to turn my lights pink, purple, blue.. on/off is good for me)
it really is, i found this:
Looks like it. Beta, but yeah. I'm about to fuss with it now
-edit also you'd probably like this:
you do not have sonos already (you're not adding to an existing setup?)
all you want is better sounding music and you already have a Dot?
you could just get PC speakers with a regular headphone in jack.. that would be true stereo separation + a sub (if you got a 2.1 kit)
so.. any sound that comes out on the crappy little dot speaker just comes out on the good speakers.
if you want sonos, that's fine, but One should perform identically to the Dot.. are you saying the ONE is clunkiER than the Dot? this does not make sense "and get access to my old Alexa interface" - Alexa is Alexa, regardless of the company that made the mics listening to you.
are you saying you ask Dot and ONE the same exact thing and they perform differently?
if there are differences, then maybe you missed a step.. did you enable the Sonos skill on Amazon?
right now, the Alexa/Sonos integration is in beta, so it's not fully baked yet.. but it should be EQUALLY clunky regardless of the device hearing you. the problem that I have most often is a delay.. I say "play song in bedroom" sometimes it starts quickly, sometimes it takes 30 seconds.. no such delay playing same content via app or desktop. similar delays for stop, skip, etc.. annoying as hell when you need to turn it off (phone or whatever). Alexa doesn't experience any delay when operating the lights.
It isn't working for me on my 2.0 bridge, but the info for the new feature is below.
- It offers possibilities for playing with colors on color lights. Say, "Alexa, set the bedroom light to orange"
- You can control shades of white on your Hue white ambiance lights, from cool energising daylight to relaxing warm white light. Say:
- "Alexa, set the kitchen light to cool white"
- "Alexa, make the living room warmer"
