I wore high top shoes for a couple of years, to try to battle a serial ankle rolling problem, but found they didn't help at all.
I also got one of these, and wore it when healing from sprains, and it definitely prevented further damage to the injured ankle: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0027VKR5S
What really helped was exercises to work on strength and stability.
Physical therapist and chronic ankle instability sufferer here. Regarding braces this is the one that I recommend and will use if I am wearing low top shoes playing basketball or soccer. I actually don't like wearing them for disc golf so I choose to wear VivoBare Tracker 2's. Yes they are expensive but they have coupons all over the place. These are a barefoot style shoe (may not be appropriate for you if you haven't worked your way down to a less supportive shoe) but they are high top and lace up really well to give nice support to the ankle. High top hiking boots work well as well. I would avoid low top terrex style shoes with the very firm soles.

I have to disagree slightly with the other poster in that using the brace for a round of disc golf will not weaken the joint at all, in fact it may help to provide some neuromuscular feedback to allow the supporting structures to work more efficiently, but I do have to agree that a proper strengthening program can increase the compensations the muscles can make for the lack of ligamentous stability.
This is the brace my doc has me wear also for chronic ankle instability. Fairly comfortable after you figure out how to lace it up just so.

I have spastic hemiplegia that mildly effects my right side. I got my license at 17 without any modifications, I can't move my ankle too much so what I do is move my is move my foot as much as I can using my ankle and then moving my whole leg back and forth between pedals.
It does take longer to switch in between pedals, because of that, when I drive I keep a good distance away from the car infront of me to give myself a more time to react. It also does get tiring moving my whole leg after awhile. I managed to build more endurance to last longer by practicing.
I also drive without my brace and instead use a ankle support like this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LXAGV0H/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_8D701VGBXNNYCG50A8WB
I can feel the pedals a lot more with this on instead of my leg brace, and doesn't weigh as much.
Ankle booties.

When you say ankle pain im thinking your malleolus or an accessory navicular (some people have one, some dont).
Either the padding broke down, or there was pressure on you ankle bone and you developed the injury overtime. It took me almost a year in Ps next skates before I had similar problems.
They’re all sort of the same, and I’m sure Steph’s are much better, but I use these:
https://www.amazon.com/Med-Spec-Ankle-Stabilizer-Black/dp/B00TZTO0QC
I will say at least a few times I’ve rolled my ankle and immediately thought “this is going to be bad” and just walked it off and kept playing.
I had the same problem with powerslide boots. Don't know if thats what you got, but these are a life saver.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0791SG9BX/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_f2FeGbYJMQC0D
You might have a nasty pressure point on your Malleolus. Look up heat molding or using a heat gun and how to push out the pressure point.
It could be that, your muscles not being developed or a combo of the above.
I have a combo. Once I punched out my pressure points, and once I got the sleeves and had sometime off, a month due to a unrelated broken foot, I was good.
Its one of these. I don't remember which one. I think it's the Mueller one.

Common problem. Buy this thing, cut in half, wear with the gel side facing in.
For the problem on your actual foot, you probably need to punch the boot out there.
Sounds like you need some good inserts. I buy my red wings at a dealer, and they offer all kinds of help for whatever foot issue you’re having.
I also suffer from plantar and strangely enough this helped me better than anything else.
Ankle Support Brace, Breathable Neoprene Sleeve, Adjustable Wrap! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LXAGV0H/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_D6.TFbR98JQVG
I just wear the wrap piece until it doesn’t hurt and won’t flare up for a few months.
Below is a link to a type of ankle support. On the need for Medical care. You are your best advocate. Everyone can tell you what to do and how to do it. Only you know you. If there is support out there, use it if you can and if you want to. As for the ankle supports if you put them on your Amazon wish list I’ll take care of it. Lastly you said you want to cry. Crying is not a weakness. You do you because only you can. I ordered some circular gel pads from amazon and cut the center out to make donuts. I also wear a gel ankle sleeve and stuff my sock with a 1/2 soft foam pad to thicken up my inside upper ankle (allows the boot to be tight without cinching the top strap as much, thus taking pressure of the malleolus bone.). This is all for my left foot. My right foot is completely fine with nothing - really strange. But with this setup I have zero pain.
Yeah they do seem a bit hard to turn in tight spaces although I chalk that up to my beginner level skill. There are folks on youtube who rip with these but theyve been rollerblading for like 15 years lol.

Preface: I'm not a doctor.
Did your broken ankle result in pronation issues? Have you tried a neutral shoe since recovery? Are you doing/have you done any PT for your ankle? Are you continuing to do some strength training to make sure that your ankle is strong? This is probably a discussion to have with a PT or primary care physician because of your injury. A stability shoe can give you extra support to help with the natural pronation issues you may have either before or after breaking your ankle, but it won't really help strengthen a weak ankle. With natural pronation issues, you can also work to correct those issues through PT and strength training.
All this to say, be sure a stability shoe is what you need and not just what you think you need. Maybe a couple days of cross training and PT would be better than a stability shoe?
To offer a suggestion - Would you be alright to go with something like a Saucony Ride 15 TR and pair that with a soft ankle wrap for additional ankle support to help mitigate risks of reinjury due to a weak ankle?
I had a wicked case of lace bite as a player due to using unwaxed laces / cranking my skates so tight. I solved it with BungaPads (I’ll put the link down below), but I think depending on the severity you may also need to take a couple weeks off to let it heal up or it’ll just get worse. You can change up your ways of lacing too so it doesn’t put as much pressure on the sore area.

Rest, ice, compress, elevate. Would recommend using an over the counter lace up ankle brace to help rest the tendon when walking. Avoid high impact activities. Over the counter anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen would be helpful. Range of motion exercises once things calm down to the ankle.
Link to an example of the brace: https://www.amazon.com/Med-Spec-264014-Stabilizer-Medium/dp/B00TZTO0VM/ref=sr_1_5?crid=Q6EP0X5TQ8TE&keywords=lace+up+ankle+brace&qid=1663382427&sprefix=lace+up+ankle+brace%2Caps%2C114&sr=8-5
I had a trimal 4 months ago, and my ankle often feels sensitive, but with this being summer, I've never put boots on. I was however looking for something to help me feel comfortable in a crowded room, where someone could accidentally hit the implant area, and bought an 'ankle sleeve'' that hasn't arrived yet. Looking at the reviews, a lot of ppl bought them after breaking an ankle to relieve pressure and sensitivity, so this might be just what you're looking for:
These ones worked fine for me in the past:
Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer

I’d recommend wearing a sock that goes up all the way underneath it though if you can, otherwise it tends to get a little itchy/uncomfortable.
While we're at it. Any opinions on Ankle braces too? I'm ready to pull the trigger on this one too for my ankle
Most monitor arms come with the ability to mount them through the desk so you would just need to drill a hole through it although I cannot find that info on the mount you linked. I used to have a 32" and a 24" on a dual mount and it made a fairly big dent on both sides of the table (ikea linnmon particleboard). I could also see the post sagging and I have seen worse pitures here of the desk breaking under the load. That being said my 32" + 24" monitors were quite heavy so you may be ok with your monitor (it looks 24" or 27"?). Still using the same desk (although plan to get a bigger better one soon) with a better dual mount which has a much wider base and two clamps and is holding up just fine (I also upgraded my monitor 24" to a 27"). The mount you have linked looks like a wide enough base, if you want to DIY you can probably find a metal plate to put between the clamp and underneath the table to distribute the force of the clamp over a wider area.
anything that is not a low top is going to work better, there are few true high tops out anymore. they are usually a mid high top.
i'd recommend something like this, even with a higher ankle support shoe. i have chronic sprained ankles (va disability even) and these are the types i wear
https://www.amazon.com/Zenith-Ankle-Brace-Adjustable-Support/dp/B01LYQU9K4
Thanks for asking!
Im using one monitor stand which has 3 arms to hold them up
Similar to this: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0861284GB/ref=emc_b_5_i (didn't find the exact one, if you want me to look it up i can do it) and then bought one seperately. The arms allow you to move & rotate the monitors in all directions
Hope this helps
I rolled my ankles all the time in hs and a couple times in college. This was my go to.

Did your doctor/orthopedist have any recommendations? I tore one of the branches of the perineal tendon and I was offered surgery or conservative therapy. I took the latter, which consisted of 1) wearing an ankle splint while wearing my shoes, and 2) PT (standard foot exercises to strengthen the foot) - which I just did on my own. Here is a link to the type of ankle splint I used - there are many types - just want one that supports the foot. Also ice and elevation will help with the swelling when you do over do it.
What do you think about just hiking permanently with something like this? I was hoping I could keep using my trail runners and then just size them so I can wear a serious brace with them. The reason the injury happened was that I had been hiking a ton with trekking poles but was also doing some fishing and left them at home, I find with the trekking poles I rarely have issues. Will go down to zero drop though as others have suggested, maybe with a mid shoe.
ASO or the ankle supporting orthotic. This is the best thing available without going to a custom orthotic. I've been wearing one a long time now. I'm actually having a custom orthotic made now, just waiting for it to be finished.
I have large bone spurs fusing my ankles, tons of arthritis, bone fragments floating in the fluid built up in the joint, and a bunch of bone graft. I'm waiting to get an ankle replacement soon.

If you have an ankle injury that you haven't fully recovered from, you should be wearing ankle braces (ligaments can take up to an entire year to fully heal from a sprain).
I have never sprained an ankle or injured myself playing basketball since I started wearing these (or any other fabric ankle brace). And they do not restrict the functional movement of your ankles, they just prevent hyper-extension from lateral movements.
HIGHLY recommend, coming from someone who had repeated ankle sprains for years.
Not on good braces. The one I have for my ankle I got from amazon it was suggested by chiro for stability on really weak ankle days but I haven’t used it in months. Bc everyone has been cramming mobility and strengthening down my throat. Lol
I've had nagging ankle pain for the last 2-3 years. I have a very tender ligament that is just really whiny. It is not as bad when I'm good about wearing supportive footwear -- I've even made sure my house slippers have insoles in them for my arch. I went to the doctor for a while for it but he didn't really have terribly much to say except "strengthen it" with heel dips and the like. It comes it goes, it makes me feel crazy and whiny.
This bracehelps me when it feels really bad.
Nice setup. Mine is pretty similar. AOC 34 + Samsung 27 flat. Is your monitor arm able to hold the weight of the AOC tilted up? (opposite tilt compared to the top one). I got the following arm last week, and even though it is graded for 9kg, it doesn't hold the AOC tilted (AOC is 8kg). https://www.amazon.nl/HUANUO-Dubbele-Monitorsteunen-Hoogteverstelbare-Bevestigingsopties/dp/B0861284GB/ And also the part that press the bottom of the desk seems to small to hold the vertical bar properly straight (the part where the arms are fixed to). So I'm curious how yours is handling the monitors, if you don't mind sharing your experience. Also, would you mind sharing the exact reference to the monitor arm?
