Mid 60s, kids clothes are kids clothes. I'd recommend watching stuff FROM the period, rather than a modern interpretation of it. A lot of the costumes in The Help are pretty good, but nothing beats going to the source. For getting a feel for 20th century stuff, I always like starting with Olian's "Everyday fashions of the (decade) as pictured in the Sears Catalog" Amazon has it, but check your local library!

I snagged that up for 2,300 only a few dozen exist. The prices are all over the place for those. Not a lot people know how readily available patterns are to buy, including me recently. It really helps learn about the patterns, the rarity and pricing. I’d recommend it for any numismatist.

Authentic Victorian Dressmaking: This is a re-issue of Butterick's Dressmaking, Up to Date which was published in 1905. This book describes techniques used in dressmaking as well as creating patterns and altering clothing. This was the guide for home dressmakers at the time.

Turn of the Century Fashion patterns: This book includes patterns as well as drafting instructions.

That's such a cool find, I really love vintage books.

I actually purchased a modern reprint of this awhile ago! It's a pretty decent price, too.
