I wonder what it would look like with some Fish Tank "Jewel Gravel" aka "Gravel Accents" in the bottom half. I've seen it in Amber once but Blue would work too. Hey, they've even got it in Glow in the Dark!
I am really new to apisto breeding. I've bred guppies and Bettas but never cichlids. It seems that these guys are relatively easy to breed. I just made sure that my female has a place to hide. I found this hide at my LFS and she had her eggs in there and still uses it with her fry. I’m just glad that the male and female liked each other enough to procreate x)
not the original commenter but i just order a "beginners bundle" on amazon with some amazon swords, ludwigia, moneywort and 3 other species i can't remember the names and then on /r/AquaSwap i got some duckweed and anubias :)
edit: this is the link. the hornwort and anarchis i think in my opinion could look like the kelp where harry gets attacked by the grindylow https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00QTGOIRA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I bought 2 sets of tools off amazon, from this 3 pack I use these 2 tweezers for most everything, the scissors are kinda crappy though: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Y9ZGYMK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I also bought this set, however because they're so big the only thing I've used them on is the wine bottle. even then when inserted, the neck would push them closed. Since I couldn't get them to release I resorted to dropping things in and nudging them around into place. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01EFYG5HS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I got those off Amazon and they are petty decent for their price. Here’s the link. Co-link 3 in 1 Long Stainless Steel Aquarium Tank Aquatic Plant Tongs Scissors Tools for Fish Tank Plants https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00Y9ZGYMK?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
When I first got my kribs, I wanted to give them a cave. The only cave I had was a small castle decor that had a backdoor. So I set it up in the corner as close to the walls as I could. I came home to a fish stuck between the decor and glass. It was still alive, I moved it a little away from the glass on that side. A couple days later there was a fish stuck against the glass on the other side. Lucky it was still alive. Moved it away from the glass on that side and ordered some caves online and removed that castle. Here's a link to the caves I got. I don't know if kuhli loaches will like it but my kribs took right to them
If you want you can try some suction cup planters, they're little clear half cups you can suction cup to the side of your tank and fill with some substrate and plants. One of my bettas loves napping inside of one of his cups.
You can find some here but you can also find similar from a variety of places: https://www.amazon.com/SunGrow-Crystal-Aquarium-Floating-Illusion/dp/B07YNSXGN2
I also highly recommend a betta log and either some floating plants or some of those betta hammock leaves.
Get a bunch of the reptile shipping heat packs, they don't get as hot has handwarmers, and last between 40 and 72 hours. combine that with an insulated den of blankes or something and you should be able to keep Lovey nice and cozy for an extended nap time while the power is off.
Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Multi-purpose-Uniheat-temperature-sensitive-products/dp/B06X95R1FN/ref=sr\_1\_3?dchild=1&keywords=reptile+shipping+warmers&qid=1630171509&sr=8-3
First of all, thank you so much!!! I really appreciate it :)
I used new zealand tree fern tropical background for the background. Its a is soft, porous and spongy, long lasting, and has fantastic moisture holding abilities. These natural products – tree fern panels and fibre, have a much larger surface area than many other substrates, which means its capacity to retain moisture is much greater.
I bought in amazon, here is the link

Thank snake discovery for making a video with these listed, or I would not have been able to find them as easy.
Here's the link. There's another one that connects and faces the other way to make a larger castle if your tank is massive.
