Throttle position and speed. Pulling a fuse isn't the entirety of it, you have to clip in a small connector into the skipshift solenoid.
$15, 15 minutes, and it saves you from the gas guzzler tax, so pretty easily worth it imo. I can't imagine actually consistently driving with it enabled though.
Originally I had planned to do a shifter rebuild today. I had a few of the OEM Bushing, but cut a corner somewhere and got this Doorman shifter rebuild kit from Amazon. And it didn't work the moment I took it out of the box. turret bushing and others weren't the same.
So I had this MiataRoadster shifter that I bought during the Christmas sale. I wasn't planning on putting it on today, but since I already took off my shifter. I went ahead and installed it. Installation should be straightforward. Just follow this guide it will help.
As for the Pros and Cons. The quality is really nice, throws are super short it took me a minute to get use to it, and to be honest I'm still not use it to it yet. You'll probably be laughing at how crazy fast you shift now. Only did a quick night run with it a few hours ago so not much else to say really.
Cons. I would say it's stiffer than stock. Even though the throws are shorter I was thinking that there would be less work involved, and sometimes I feel like I have to force it in gear? Not sure if there's any break it process and if it gets any better. Also, another con, this may only pertain to me, but I'll just throw it out there. It was difficult for me to downshift into 1st gear. Again, not sure if that was my error, but it happened a few times were I had to shift back to neutral from 2nd in order to get into 1st.
You should definitely get this cheap $13 bushing and shifter kit from Amazon.. Install is super easy and takes less than 30 minutes each (minus getting the car jacked up)
This is the exact kit I bought as my VERY FIRST couple mods to the car since I got it. It's held up well over the past 3.5 years so don't let the cheapness scare you compared to those $50+
Yeah, just try and install one and see if it makes a difference
I too had trouble with first (little bit with second) and was immediately gone after the shift stop install. Takes like 5-10 minutes of time and the change is noticeable almost immediately
I bought this really cheap shift stop 3 years ago and it hasn't failed me yet
I got both the bushing and shift stop from Amazon due to prime and cheaper price.
Perrin Performance PSP-INR-018 Perrin Shift Stop
Perrin Performance PSP-INR-016 Perrin Shift Bushing
The Invidia R400 is louder at cold starts and its a deep sound. At idle, it sounds stock. Below 2.5k rpm is not too loud and but does get louder at higher rpms. I do love the deep bass sound. I typically try to shift below 3k rpm when leaving my Apt community in the morning. Wife says her 18 Stock Mustang 5.0 is still louder :/
Well, take the shifter off and see what's going on. If you're lucky, there's so much slop in the bushings you can't move the fork, and it'll cost $23 to fix.
If you're less lucky, you broke the shifter stub, or something inside the top cover, which becomes a "drop the trans" problem.
Both sellers "SimuRide" and "Gitolo" seem to be the same thing -- this is the APlusB Software shifter with an EasyJake switch on it. Based on an aftermarket MAN shifter, but works fine for ATS as well as ETS2. I've had mine since 2020 and never had any problems -- other than, like a lot of Arduino-based devices, it might prevent the computer from going to sleep. Just unplug it when it's not in use.
It's this one, though the one I ordered also included the monitor mount. https://www.amazon.com/Conquer-Simulator-Cockpit-Driving-Reclinable/dp/B077PMH7DL/ref=sr\_1\_3?crid=1FR6M38AZM0JJ&keywords=Conquer+Race+Simulator&qid=1644421104&sprefix=conquer+race+simulator+%2Caps%2C189&sr=8-3
Absolutely nothing.
If you wanna save quite a bit of money I would recommend this set - Bushing + Shift Stop $14
I've had mine on nearing 5 years and its been rock solid.
Weighted Knob of your choice.
No need to spend the money on a Perrin stop and bushing or a Boomba plate. I have installed all of these exact parts and they are excellent.
It's a shift stop. I ordered this kit and it worked just like any other. It didn't come with grease is all for the shifter linkage bushing... but what shop doesn't have a tub of synthetic super lube hanging around to dip their finger in...
> Heck, even the stock stereo is pretty fantastic
That's new haha. It's one of the many gripes people have with this car. They're pretty low output speakers (7RMS) and tweeters are 5RMS if I recall correctly.
I would just recommend a few quality of life small changes if you're willing to do them:
Heavier shift knob (at least more than 200grams) - easier throws, much better feeling vs the light stock knob
Shift stop - cleans up the 1-2 shifting area making it feel less sloppy. Takes 30 minutes or less with a tutorial from Youtube.
Shifter bushing - makes the shifting feel direct and more firm vs the stock rubber bushing. This will require a small amount of work getting under the car but takes no less than 1 hour to do.
This costs more than I remember it costing. My bad. It is pretty nice though. If you want to up your game you can get one made from real Eaton Fuller parts but its expensive.
P.S. the range/splitter switches aren't the exact same way they are on an IRL truck, but it is still the same concept.
Someone recommended this cheap one off amazon. Ordered it. Worked just fine.
The shift tower is secured to the transmission by 3 and a plate. It's underneath the rubber boot, there's a rebuild kit you get for that.

This is the one I ordered. I know the same one can be found on other sites but I had some GCs on Amazon to spend.
Definitely worth the price either way. Shifts feel tighter and cleaner. Just be sure to follow the directions. Don’t forget to place a towel or rag down below the shifter when removing/replacing the 7mm nuts. You’ll understand why when you get to that part.
It came with just one piece, here it is. I imagine this is the top part and I'm missing the bottom part you're talking about that fits underneath. I just have no clue what the part is called and I can't find it anywhere online, the part I got is the bezel. It's weird that both pieces didn't come together.
Bought it off Amazon (Muzzys CAGS Skip Shift Eliminator for 1992-2018: Corvette, Camaro, Viper, Firebird, Trans-AM, Challenger, G8, SS, Ram SRT10, Commodore https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01AO328FW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_uxhfBbAWE0AR1) and just asked my local garage to plug it in.
Make sure they plug it in correctly because the plug for the reverse blocker thingy is the same on the transmission. At first they plugged it wrong and I couldn't go in reverse at all.
I would have plugged it myself if I had a safe way to lift the car.
Works fine, would buy again :D. The dashboard still displays the shift skip when it would have happened but it does nothing and I can shift however I please now :D
Yes.. Dorman makes an upgraded part. Easy to change once the shifter is out. There's youtube videos out there on how.
