If you're looking for a cheaper Lanolin alternative someone mentioned to me Nipple cream. Its super cheap and you can get A LOT of it. I personally love any products that have lanolin in it. Bite's lip balm and lip mask are my favs.
I ended up buying these for when I want something simple and effective. Would highly recommend.
I have this applicator and it is amazing! Reusable and super soft. Thanks for the tip too! We had a similar problem with my 2 year old when she ate too many blueberries https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LYQ53JW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_d1Y5AbSNFYCVW
Rave: Lanolin
Holy shit, guys. Thanks to recommendations I found via the search bar, my lips are healing! Lipsense destroyed my upper lip and it was chapped and scabbed for 3 full months. I got some Lanolin from Amazon a week ago, mixed in a bit of Aquaphor, and put it into some empty squeezable lip balm tubes, and my lips are almost back to normal!
My life got so much easier when I bought this electric nail file. She even giggles when I do it and I never worry about cutting or hurting her.
It's not actually a lip balm, but the lanolin used for nipple cream for breast feeding is the most awesome lip balm I've ever used. Here's a link to it on Amazon. I found out about it via /r/skincareaddiction and holy shit it works awesome. If my lips should get cracked/dry, it fixes them within like a day and a half.
I know it sounds crazy, but nipple cream. Yes- cream for chafed nipples which happens when breastfeeding (apparently?! And sounds no bueno). It’s lanolin has a vaseline consistency, and comes in a purple tube. Holy grail for super dry and chapped lips: Lansinoh Lanolin Nipple Cream, 100% Natural Lanolin Cream for Breastfeeding, 1.41 oz Tube https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005MI648C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_sxLvCbVHBEY2Z
Baby Bum Brush, Original Diaper Rash Cream Applicator, Soft Flexible Silicone, Unique Gift, [Blue] https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LYQ53JW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_rSkLDb8YV4Q3T
Makes it quick and easy, no finger painting the bum and bits. Just swoop, swoop, done.
So nobody warned me about needing this shit for my newborn when becoming a new dad. My poor baby gets so gassy we have to lube these tubes up and stick it in her bum. And I have never thought I'd be so fucking excited to hear and see the explosion of gas and shit that erupts from the little thing. I am so fucking happy because they are relieved. It's more of a last resort thing.
Maybe that's what selloffs do to markets. In a way maybe bears ultimately have to penetrate the market from below every now and then to relieve pressure. Maybe bearish sentiment is a necessity for the health of markets and these brief "scares" are really good for cooling RSI and enticing new buyers.
I’m not trans, I do have a trans daughter, but she has not started hormones yet. On the other hand, I have breastfed 4 kids. Go buy yourself nipple cream. It’s also great for chapped lips and wind burnt cheeks and such. You should be able to find it in the baby section at target/Walmart quite easily.
I was just researching this last night on Reddit (here and SCA) to see if I could find other options before buying the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask that I'd been eyeing a while. The thing is, my lips aren't really chapped or super dry, but I find that they tighten up pretty quickly and I needed something that wasn't just an occlusive moisturizer (which is what my Aquaphor basically amounts to, with SPF 30).
One thing I realized is I've been exfoliating the lips too much. I tend to scrape off the top layer (it comes off easily, it's not dry either but moist) every morning and I think that's caused a vicious cycle of it peeling easily. So this morning I used my thumb to go over my lips and remove leftover balm without scraping the lip itself. This may not be helpful to you in particular but I figured I'd mention it in case anyone with an issue similar to mine checks out this thread too.
More to the point: I decided on trying Lansinoh, which is lanolin (it's actually marketed to breastfeeding mothers for their chapped nipples, but who cares). I got it this morning and it's definitely unlike anything else I've put on my lips and they haven't felt dried out all day. I went for this option because people said lanolin can penetrate deeper for more lasting moisture, rather than just sitting on top like petroleum jelly. It's $7 on Amazon for 3 little tubes (https://www.amazon.com/Lansinoh-Lanolin-Minis-Breastfeeding-Mothers/dp/B00FNZQHJA/) so I think that's worth a shot for anyone who'd want to avoid spending more right away. The Laneige pack is so much more pretty-looking though that I might want to try it anyway…
I have the frida nail scissors, frida nail clippers, safety 1st clippers and I’m a certified nail tech and my holy grail has been this e file Baby Nail Trimmer, FANSIDI Baby... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073VBYNH4?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I can do it when he’s eating or sleeping and it does not bother him. They have different grits for different ages and it works so quick that even if your kid doesn’t like it, it’ll be over before they know it. Good luck!
If you'd prefer a product marketed for humans, there's a 0.95% zinc pyrithione baby shampoo I recommend as well. I use this as a face wash and it's super mild. Also from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/Happy-Cappy-Seborrheic-Dermatitis-Clinically/dp/B07857W8MS). This product doesn't work as well as the ketoconazole wipes but if your fungal acne is mild this shampoo might be enough to curb it. I really hope these products work for you!
Food for sure! It is super hard to find time to make any food after the baby is born.
I've also appreciated the books we've received as gifts. Definitely do not send clothes or blankets unless you know the parents actually want those.
OH and this is the single best thing we got as a gift: https://www.amazon.com/BabyBum-Diaper-Cream-Brush-Blue/dp/B00LYQ53JW. It seemed super useless at the time but it is amazingly handy for applying cream. (It also has 5000+ reviews and a 5-star rating, which seems appropriate).
Happy Cappy I’ve had some luck with this! Definitely gentler than everything else that I’ve used and decent price.

We were talking about the bite beauty lip mask in another thread the other day. A couple of people said there's a cheap $10 for 3 lip balm on Amazon that's just as good as but so much cheaper....but it's nipple cream!!
Lansinoh https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FNZQHJA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_DsH8zb357ZRAV I haven't tried it out but i will when my bite mask has run out!
Check out the Frida Windi. Absolutely life saver for us, although be prepared, it can release a lot of poop instantly lol.
Windi Gas and Colic Reliever for Babies (10 Count) by Frida Baby https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007RAGALO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_T5M4TZ95FYJA36MR4RP4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I use happy cappy medicated shampoo. It’s sulfate free, fragrance free, and hypoallergenic. I have a super sensitive scalp and this is the first shampoo I’m able to tolerate.
I also use a silicone scalp brush when I shampoo to gently massage it into my scalp better than just my fingers could. Just make sure to not scrub too hard because you can irritate the scalp more. Just be gentle.
The sulfate in this shampoo might be triggering your eczema. Also sulfates make my dry scalp dandruff even worse.
If you still want to use a zinc shampoo, you can switch to a sulfate free one. I use happy cappy shampoo. It’s also fragrance free which is great since fragrance can trigger eczema.
I also use a scalp brush when shampooing to gently exfoliate the flakes and help the zinc in the shampoo penetrate the scalp. Don’t scrub too hard though. I’ve definitely went overboard before and made my scalp super red and sore. Use light to medium pressure.
I usually need to do a clarifying wash with a sulfate shampoo that is also silicone free about once a month to remove product build up.
For babies, the electric files are the best. Quick and easy. You can buy replacement heads when needed. I use clippers with my toddler now, but still use this to smooth things out quickly after I clip.
Yes! Lanolin for the win. I like these because they’re tiny, last forever, and you can stash them anywhere. Yes, it is for nursing mothers, but it will give you so much relief, you won’t care what it is called. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FNZQHJA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Good luck!
I learned about it in this subreddit and I’m so glad that I did! This is the one we got. I used it on myself first and it is extremely gentle.
I’ve also bought it in store at Walgreens. If you need an FA safe body wash that’s not medicated, I love Trader Joe’s Tea Tree Tingle body wash. I actually use the shampoo & conditioner, too. All FA safe!
This was part of how I bonded with mine; I was a world class fartner.
We used gas drops (same as gas-x; simethicone)regularly and I would massage a little belly (clockwise) and move some tiny thighs to work things out(edit: per your question, 'yes'). I sometimes executes a double leg belly press and squeezed the farts out. If I failed my task, we occasionally used a windi(caution is advised).
Sadly, this facet of our relationship waned as the skill of farting was learned and the dietary issue that caused it was overcome by bowel development.
Nevertheless, it will be written in the book of developmental stories that I was my child's dedicated and talented fartner.
Imagine a mini cake spatula but for butt cream so you don't get it all over your hands.

Get one of these. So much easier to cut there nails, an it removes the risk of you cutting to nails to short.

I have seb derm and have a difficult time trying to source CGM products in Australia. I was wondering if anyone could please help by shipping Dr. Eddie's Happy Cappy Shampoo and Free and Clear conditioner to me? I would also pay for your time and effort. Unfortunately Amazon US won't ship here and it would cost 90 AUD on eBay :( Help much appreciated.
Have you tried a “Windi” yet? It was honestly life saving for my LO when he was little.
Is it super weird? Yes
But does it work? 100%
Totally worth it? Definitely
I used to use onethat was marketed for sore nipples, during breastfeeding. I used it solely for my lips at night and it melted in so well and kept them hydrated. Sometimes I followed it with Laniage Lip Sleeping Mask or just plain Vaseline. I think I want to order some right now. 👄
I’m so sorry mama! Can you ask your pediatrician about a probiotic? That might help! Also, try a windi for the constipation.
