Via r/AskReddit post here, room darkening shades are among the top items under $100 that are described as "life changing", to which I concur
Also another amazing investment I made was a white noise machine because I lived off a very busy intersection during my college years. The model I linked has been with me for a number of years and still works great! (Not a promotion lol)
It ends with some weird pickle thing here
To piggy back on this post. They also make a big pregnancy pillow in the shape of a 'C' I know I know..... pregnancy? It wraps around you. It is amazing. My youngest is 9 and I can't get rid of it. 🤣 There are lots out there but here is a link to give you the idea. https://www.amazon.com/PharMeDoc-Pregnancy-Pillow-Jersey-Shaped/dp/B01KIQH2VU
I post this at every opportunity. We have 4 of these. Worth every goddamn penny.

I’m too poor to feel hugged, but maybe you can afford it.
This is the one we use. Ours is great. It was actually my MILs, it's lasted a long time.
Marpac Dohm Classic White Noise Sound Machine, White https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HD0ELFK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_PeY0Bb5RF6RTT
Get the kid used to a noise machine right away. It'll help cover up the sounds of TV, music, doors closing, etc so wakeups don't occur as often. I happened to use an air filter at first but now use a Marpac Dohm.
I have that and a dimmed red lamp set up. "Turn on/off the sleepy" controls them.
I have really bad tinnitus. Get an old school white noise machine, it’s much better than music.
Marpac Dohm Classic White Noise Sound Machine, White https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HD0ELFK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_KLz3BbZPJKD16
I have a family history of sleep struggle, including a father who has a CPAP machine. This is what I do for sleep:
And if you can still hear them, get a white noise machine to keep in your room, near the door.
I'm a REALLY light sleeper. Naturally I own one cat who wanders the halls at night, wailing (for no reason at all), and one who runs around like an idiot all night (at 13 years old!!).
Drowning them out is your best defense. The white noise machine is a good start (I like this one). Add ear plugs if necessary.
Talking to them will do no good, since the neighbors already have. Find out your local laws and then file a complaint with the responsible authorities....animal control around here. Start documenting the occurrences of when this is happening and given the neighbors seem tired of it too, band with them to document and file complaints as well.
It's been my experience once someone gets a talking to from Animal Control/local authorities people start to take their barking dogs seriously.
A white noise machine also does wonders to keep random dog barking from waking you.
Second the white noise. We got https://www.amazon.com/Marpac-Classic-White-Noise-Machine/dp/B000KUHFGM this model and it is incredible. Mechanical, super soothing, changed our kids sleeping habits almost instantly.
You can make a 25 hour supply of formula (however much your baby will eat in that time frame) and keep it in the fridge. This one is great: Dr. Brown's Formula Mixing Pitcher https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001I481LM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_l-EdBbTNZRKMW.
I live in Texas and we do not have to boil water, we just use filtered tap. If the water in your area is a concern you could use bottled water.
Also see if your baby will drink the formula cold. Ours did and it was great because we didn't have to warm it.
> We bought this for my uncle (my aunt's husband) as a joke. He had no idea what to do with it and it was a very awkward exchange :) > > It turned out to be a blessing in disguise. His father's Alzheimer's was getting worse and worse and he would often end up in a nonsensical rage over little things. Somehow they got the idea to give him this, and he found it hilarious. So every time he had an episode, they'd discretely put this in his pocket and set it off, and he'd totally forget about what he was mad about and start laughing at the stupid yodelling pickle.

This was listed under "people who viewed this, bought this. Amazing.
Also, do people actually buy $10k+ watches on Amazon? I can't imagine spending that much money on something without trying it on first.
You can! We use the Dr. Brown's Formula Pitcher to pre mix 5 bottles that we send with our son to daycare. Just fill up your filtered water (we do 25 ounces of water, for 5 bottles at 5 ounces), dump in 12.5 scoops of formula (our ratio is 2:1 water to formula), churn it up and down a few times, pour, and refrigerate.
Premixed formula this way is good for 24 hours if refrigerated. Just pull out a bottle as needed, warm, and you're done.
Hell, I even measure out five baggies of 12.5 scoops of formula on Sundays so I don't have to do it every morning. Just water, dump baggie, pump, pour, and fridge.
We also have the Baby Brezza, which we use when we're at home. Perfect bottle in seconds.
Dude, these headaches have been so gnarly. I woke up with my head pounding today and couldn't kick it until around 3pm. Now my system is all out of wack and I'm glued to the toilet 🙄 Glad today is Saturday because it hasn't been a productive one!
On a lighter note, made my first official pregnancy purchase today. This pillowlooked amazing and got great reviews. Can't wait to break it in! Already struggling with sleep and hoping this will help 🤞
I went with the PharMeDoc pillow from Amazon because it has a removable portion to make it from a u shape to a c shape and has a flat part for my arm! That was part of the reason I waited so long with getting one too but this one is amazing !

I bought this along with a wedge to help with hip pain.
Pregnancy pillow recommendation amazon link My pregnancy pillow arrived today. I’m snuggled in bed with it right now! It’s so cozy. It has a detachable side Incase you don’t want to be enclosed I guess & a flat part so that you can have an arm under it without the weight of the pillow. I can report in the AM thread how I slept with it. I definitely like it a lot better than my last pregnancy pillow
I got this and never looked back. Its a camera with its monitor. It’s amazing. Video is crystal clear, sound is great. Even shows temperature. Has night vision. You can remotely rotate or zoom In with the camera. Don’t need internet or anything. The only thing some people might not like is that you can’t get it on your phone, need the monitor. But I prefer it this way because I get to keep an eye on the baby at all times and play on my phone !

Love the Pharmedoc pregnancy pillow. I’m also a side sleeper with an arm under the pillow, and the C shaped pillow was perfect.
I used this doc brown formula pitcher: Dr. Brown's Formula Mixing Pitcher https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001I481LM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_Q5FR2XJS9WWYKA5NNT44 and made enough for the day based on how much buddy boy was drinking at the time. My sister (mom of 4 and a peds nurse) says it keeps for 24 hours so I went with that.
Listen I don't have to sell you on this item... with nearly 3000 reviews with a solid 4.6 star rating humanity has reached its peak. Combining the greatest two things that have ever existed anywhere ever, I give you:

The monitor I have has a color bar on the side that gets more red the louder the baby gets. Maybe a monitor w this type of option would work for you. Visually seeing you’re baby on the screen combined with the color bar may help you determine if baby is upset/ hungry or just getting comfy.
Infant Optics DXR-8 Video Baby Monitor with Interchangeable Optical Lens https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ECHYTBI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_OsqQBbDM322HA
Edit: I’m not hearing impaired I just thought this feature could be helpful to you.
Like some other people have mentioned, I wasn't a fan of wifi enabled monitor. So I ended up with this one: https://www.amazon.com/Infant-Optics-DXR-8-Monitor-Interchangeable/dp/B00ECHYTBI/
I like it so far, the range is good enough for us to go the neighbors house and still pick up the video and the monitor has a battery so we can take it around the house with us.
It's never too early for a pregnancy pillow! My husband bought me this one and it's been great for resting my sore boobs. I'm 5'5 and it's plenty long enough for me, I guess it depends on how you sleep.
I could not use this formula with my boy. It made him gassier than the regular version. I have no idea why it’s more foamy but that lead to severe gas with my LO. As someone already commented I would recommend a formula pitcher to reduce air being incorporated into the formula. I bought this one and it literally saved my sanity lol
I cant do much but tips either so more tips here! If you dont wanna do premixed, get a baby mixing pitcher! This thing makes it quick and easy to make a bunch. I'd make one in the morning and itd last the rest of the day.
Boppy lounge pillow was my life saver. I put the boppy on the floor on top a fluffy thick blanket. Helped me so baby would be safe/come to bathroom with me so I could pee/take quick shower without leaving baby in crib alone. (Before rolling/crawling began)
This has prevented me from committing so many murders. (I have some sensory stuff going on) I honestly can't even give you an unbiased judgment because I can't even pretend I would be reasonable in your position. Hours? Jesus christ.
Yes!!! It’s so much better even just for a normal body. This is what I got: it’s a u so it does take up space, but each side is pretty narrow so not more space in total than a body pillow or king pillow. I like that it soft Jersey fabric is cooling- cause I get hot when I sleep, but not with this!
Also, for those asking why not just multiple pillows instead, It is soooo much easier to switch sides and move around without reannging three pillows. And so I can roll or adjust without waking me husband (or me as much). It keeps the pillows in nice placement related to one another instead of my knee pillow falling off the bed while I adjust a head pillow. Trust me, so much better arrangement.

You can find wondfos on Amazon too.
I gave my leftovers away to a friend when she visited/hosted Max's baby shower. At 36 weeks I thought I was in the clear and would never need them again.
Wow do I have so much baggage.
Yes, do it. Even if it turns out you don't have ADHD, you'll at least have ruled that out and can focus on getting treated for whatever else you may have.
Also: talk to the department that runs student disability services at your school. It's slightly different everywhere, sometimes they're connected with the tutoring center, sometimes they're part of the general administrative services, it varies from school to school. They can help you out with getting testing and filing paperwork with the school so you can get accommodations. Especially for exams, since going by how you describe how your ADHD affects you, taking your exams in an alternative environment would probably do you a world of good.
Another thing, consider picking up a white noise machine from Amazon. The sound they make doesn't sound all that different from when the air conditioning is blowing through the vents, and they're effective at blocking out annoying noises all around you.
We don't have honking, but incredibly loud neighbors! This noise machine has worked well for many years!
I bought this one, well I actually 2. Loved it! My guy never climbed it. Now we use it to keep the new dogs from bolting out the door.

We got one of these and pre-mix as needed. We keep it in the fridge and portion out bottles on demand. She is also fine with fridge cold formula so I don’t warm it unless I have some extra time.
you can use it any way that helps you. but the classic mechanical ones did not come with a timer

We have this Infant Optics one. We got it for our baby shower for our first. We’ve been using it daily for a year and a half and I like it. You can add another camera and view it on the same monitor (which is what we will do for our second born).
The positives: picture is really clear and you can zoom. It apparently comes with some kind of zoom lens but I never used it. The volume is great and adjustable. It tells you the temp in the room. The camera rotates all over so it’s easy to make sure you have a good view on your LO. Also, I’ve dropped the monitor screen like a million times and it’s still totally fine - no cracks, still working 100%. Oh and it has a mount so you can hang it from the wall or have it standing on a table top.
The negatives: The battery goes wonky after a while. It will show up as being dead on the screen but it’s not. It’s an easy fix tho. You just charge it 100% and then pull the battery out for 10 seconds, then plug it back in. Or just replace the battery - I got a replacement on Amazon for like $8. Also, the microwave interferes with the signal if the monitor screen is too close (like in the same room). This doesn’t actually bother me, cuz it’s only when the microwave is running so like a minute or two. Just figured I’d mention it. One thing that did drive me crazy was the charging light. There’s a light about an inch long on the right side. It changes color based on charging status. It is bright as hell when you’re sleeping with the monitor like one foot from your face. I put a piece of black electric tape over it and problem solved. Lol
I’ve got the c-shaped one, which now that I’m later in my third trimester it’s pretty essential to have a pillow with an “escape route” vs the u-shaped (but I think I would have liked the u-shaped more in 2nd trimester). But honestly, if I could give any advice I would just say don’t skimp on anything sleep related. Getting good sleep will be #1 for her for the foreseeable future! That being said, there are plenty of good pillows for affordable prices. She should try a few out!
I got this one.
Kind of, very small though. I'd post a pic but I can't, here's a link to one. I've been using one for over 5yrs now.
Yogasleep Dohm Classic (White) The Original White Noise Machine Soothing Natural Sound from a Real Fan Noise Cancelling Sleep Therapy, Office Privacy, Travel For Adults, Baby 101 Night Trial https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00HD0ELFK/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_46MTSAGJ01E41RZ23K8D
I have this one and like it. My husband made me order it at around 17 weeks and even though I thought I didn't need it at first, it has made a difference in sleep comfort for sure.
We used bottled water. We did not boil it. Formula can safely be stored for 24 hours in the fridge, so it's fine to make some ahead of time. Every morning we would prepare enough formula for the entire day in this pitcher and then stick it in the fridge. Then you can just pour some into a bottle when needed. It made things much simpler for us.
Just double checked to make sure I got the name right and it's actually this [email protected]
I got this one during my last pregnancy. Part is removable if you feel too “closed in” with the original configuration.

I bought mine late second trimester with my son and wish I had gotten it earlier. Thanks for the reminder to break it out now! I have the PharMeDoc C-shaped pillow and love it: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KIQH2VU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_FN14CMECJG0J878ZQTRW?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Definitely not too early, I’m already obsessed with mine
I recommend looking into a PharMeDoc one, the one I got has a cooling cover (which is a GAME CHANGER compared to the Jersey cover on my last one) and has a detachable side. It’s U shaped with it attached, which I use as back support and it’s amazing, but if you don’t end up liking that you could remove it and have a roughly L shaped one that will support your leg and belly and still have a place to rest your head too. I’ll link the one I got so you can see but I saw in your flair you’re in Germany so it may not work.
"Brown" noise machines will be better for your ears and sanity. The depth of the sound muffles low frequencies (stomps) better than white noise machines.
the marpac ones weve had a few over the years and they last a long long time Marpac Dohm Classic (White) | The Original White Noise Machine | Soothing Natural Sound from a Real Fan | Noise Cancelling | Sleep Therapy, Office Privacy, Travel | For Adults & Baby | 101 Night Trial https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HD0ELFK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_1DS4BDA6D6XNHZDYESSV
I bought this pregnancy pillow from Amazon ($45) and I love it. It's slightly pricier than some of the other ones out there, but here's why I've found it was worth it:
Overall, been using mine for months now and love it.
I’m only 20 weeks so not real big yet but I got this pillow and I take half a unisom at night. I’m still getting to the pillow but I do feel more supported. I like that one side comes off so I can arrange it how I want or flip it and use my own pillow.
Good luck!
Have you ever wanted to learn to Yodel but didn’t think you had the voice for it? Well look no further! All your Yodeling dreams can come true with this pickle
I really like it! Particularly because when i turn from side to side (like 179474 times per night) i don’t have to take it with me, because there’s a support on each side. It makes me feel like I’m getting a “fresh” side if that makes sense? I’m sure there are plenty out there and I would imagine they all work essentially the same. I bought it for my last pregnancy and got it back out around 10w mostly because i just like it. You can also unzip and remove one “arm” and i took that to the hospital with me for labor and breastfeeding and it worked decently for that too.
I will disclose that I have never washed it and ya know, judge how you will on that one...
I have 2 poodle mixes, and I also work from home, and these guys also bark at every freakin' noise in the apartment hallway. After years of trial and error, here is what works best for me; hopefully it'll work for you too.
white noise machine. They are super small and super cheap on amazon and it helps drown out both noise in the hallway and noise of them barking. plus the noise reduction on most phones/microphones take out the noise of the machine
desensitization - I've done a ton of this with them. Hell I even recorded the sound of the elevator door opening, and played that back to them non stop to desensitize them to the sound.
frozen raw bones - they love it. they'll chew that thing for at least 40mins with no sound, and it's good for their teeth
walks don't do anything.. i go to the off leash park and have them run around lots. bonus points if they wet, because their energy goes into keeping themselves warm, and they have less energy later for barking
I routinely put them in a room somewhere and shut the door, then I go into my room and shut the door. Between the noise machine (which I put by the entrance) and another door in the way, they can't hear much
I'm also super, super ashamed to say it, and it goes against all the best dog training knowledge and philosophy.. they they have vibrating collars that vibrate when they bark. Alone this doesn't work, but this little extra bit of positive punishment along with a ton of positive reinforcement (like the video above) seems to do the trick
I use a headset for when I'm on the phone, with a very accessible mute button on the cord. I'm on mute pretty much anytime I'm not talking.
>See I don’t feel like I can leave my daughter to play alone. Every time I do she ends up doing something destructive or something she shouldn’t. [...] So my entire day consists of me on the sofa playing with her or just making sure she doesn’t wreck the house.
Dude. You aren't a SAHD, you're a prisoner. I was a SAHM to three toddlers. You can't do that for 12-hours a day. Shit. You need to toddler proof the hell out of your house or make a small area you can gate off that you can leave her with toys and books for a bit at a time.
Look at the customer images on this Amazon product page for examples of what I mean.
They get loud, and I generally sleep through shit all the time when it's on. I'd just check Amazon sales they usually go on sale pretty often.

Is the one we got, I think we paid like $35.
I would second the memory foam topper - 3” thickness is the minimum. Memory foam for between the knees too - or a “pregnancy pillow” that is shaped like a big U so you get support for your leg without having to shift a smaller pillow around. I use mine upside down as the top doesn’t work for me as a head pillow. There are many brands. Here’s a link to one.
You might also speak to your doctor about amitriptyline. It’s an anti-depressant but has been prescribed for years to people with pain-induced insomnia. It has some contraindications but worth mentioning to your doctor. It helped me enormously for years.
We have the Infant Optics DXR-8. Our son is 3 and it’s still going strong, and we just got a second camera for our newborn and it connects with the existing set. We have had to buy a new battery for the monitor once so far and probably need another one soon, but they are reasonably priced.
Meets all of the requirements you listed.
The video quality isn’t the greatest I’ve seen, but it works for us.
try grabbing a cheap white noise machine from amazon:
We use this one in the office: https://www.amazon.com/Marpac-Classic-White-Noise-Machine/dp/B00HD0ELFK/ref=sr_1_6_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1536091504&sr=8-6&keywords=white+noise+machine
I also have one at home for my kiddo. It can get loud enough that you can't hear the shower running from the bathroom adjacent to his room.
I recently got this one and legitimately look forward to going to bed all day (both because fatigue is real(!) but also because it’s just so cozy!)
PharMeDoc Pregnancy Pillow,... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KIQH2VU?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
You can prepare the formula ahead of time with warm water and store it in the fridge for up to 24 hours. I highly recommend the Dr Brown's Pitcher. You can make enough formula for the whole day, stick it in the fridge, then pour it into bottles as needed throughout the day. It saves a lot of time and is much cheaper than buying premade.

You can get relatively inexpensive c-shaped pillow on Amazon if you want to test it out. The one I just replaced was about $30ish - this one . Might be a good starter pillow for you!
Most of the time it doesn’t matter how much you spend on ovulation sticks. I used Amazon-bought “cheapies” and they worked great. Box of 50 for $16 (Link below)
If you haven’t already, download one or two fertility apps to see which ones you like. When you enter your last period, it predicts an estimate of your fertile window. You enter in your symptoms over the course of each month, and the more data you input, the more accurate it becomes at predicting your window. This way you also don’t have to test every day, just around your predicted window. These apps also help you learn a lot about fertility and when you log your symptoms you end up learning a lot about your body and it’s really fascinating! I used two apps: Ovia and Premom. I liked Ovia for the ease of data input and journaling. I liked Premom because of the data charts that it made. Premom works with Easy @Home ovulation sticks and will make a chart of your fertility! It’s really neat.
The process is a journey. But keep balance in your life and let your partner in on the journey. Best of luck, future mama! <3

We bought this and make a pitcher every night before bed. We make enough for about 24 hours, since that’s how long the formula is good for once mixed. It’s great because in the middle of the night we just go to the fridge and pour a bottle. There’s no bubbles like there are when you’re making bottles on the spot and shaking them. I think it’s helped cut down on gas bubbles in baby.

We got a huge baby gate from Amazon to separate the living room from our driving room. Your picture looks like it has a big opening into your living room as well. This is the gate we use:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003VNKLIY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_3GV82D5BT8PMXXQC7M43
Get this pitcher (or a couple of them so you don't have to wash every day) once you're using a fair amount of formula. Saves you from having to mix it in bottles where it's hard to get everything to dissolve. We're combo feeding and it took us forever to figure out that there was a better way than measuring things every single time!
You could consider upgrading your windows to something more sound proof if the noise indoors is a problem. These also help and could be put on your deck, we have a number of these and used them when we lived on a busy street: https://www.amazon.com/Marpac-Classic-White-Noise-Machine/dp/B00HD0ELFK/
This is the one I have. I love it. I had to buy a second one because my husband kept stealing it.
This jug saved my life. Okay maybe that’s a little dramatic but it has really helped waste less time making Individual bottles and has made baby waaay less gassy.
Here, my dude, hopefully you’ll have better luck than us penniless folks.
Also get you one of these:
Adaptive Sound Technologies LectroFan High Fidelity White Noise Sound Machine with 20 Unique Non-Looping Fan and White Noise Sounds and Sleep Timer https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00E6D6LQY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_78352T2JXWK2A2YA3XVB
It saved my sleep when I was living next to neighbors who couldn’t give a shit about their arguments/TV/dog being heard
While I strongly like and use audio blocking like NC headphones, gun earmuffs, and earplugs, there is another option. Instead of blocking the sound, you can attempt to mask it using a white noise machine. This won't be helpful for all situations, and white noise isn't perfect either - there are times when even white noise is still too much audio input for me. But being able to turn on loud white noise can be a huge improvement when I am already near meltdown or working intensely on something and can't be distracted.
The best white noise machine I'd recommend is something that creates sound through an analogue process vs digital. Something like a box fan or this. As for digital, check out some of the ambient stations on Soma FM. Drone Zone or Space Station Soma are great background low beat ambient sounds with no lyrics / spoken word.
I really recommend either a button-up or a zip-up hoodie, but if you can also have some with pockets in the inside where your bulbs can sit. My jacket is a lifesaver I can just put the bulbs in the inside pocket instead of it swinging around.
Bring headphones, preferably without a wire attached because you'll have a lot on you already.
Bring yourself your favorite snack. I had a hard time eating , but I struggle with being a selective eater anyways so having something from home I knew I'd like was nice.
But honestly not much. You'll be out the first night sleeping most of the time. That your bag should really just have an extra set of clothes and basic toiletries
I highly recommend bringing your switch(if you have one) and getting hulu or something on it
A Pharma Doc Pillow for at home. It's absolutely amazing. If you are an exclusive tummy sleeper like me. It makes it easier.
Hey I'm from Canada and got this white noise machine from Amazon: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00E6D6LQY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1/. It also has a fan option and has a variety of different sound options and volumes too. It basically drains out every talking/walking noise in my house. Plus its very small and portable! I hope you find something that works <3

We used this and were pretty happy with it for containing our son to a decent sized area where the space was much too open to use any combination of gates. It can stand freely on its own and can be relatively stable depending on how it’s configured. It can and probably should be anchored into the wall for full security. That being said, I wasn’t really wanting to drill into the wall in multiple places, so I used the screws to secure the hardware to furring strips and than used command tape to attach to the walls. That probably wouldn’t have held for ever as he got older, but we ultimately just decided to take the whole thing down and let him roam more freely by that point, maybe around 18 months or so.
I love mine. We joke it’s the dead body I lug around. Worth it! It was gifted to me by my mother in law! Here’s mine: PharMeDoc Pregnancy Pillow, Grey U-Shape Full Body Pillow and Maternity Support - Support for Back, Hips, Legs, Belly for Pregnant Women https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JR3T1G6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_4T996JXVKJX8HQA27HPK
I got a pharmedoc one that was kind of a u shape, one side was c and one side was straight. The side that was straight also unzipped and detached so you could easily reposition it. As a major thrasher / roller while I sleep this was ideal! Because if you just have the one pillow you’ll be dragging it back and forth and it’s a pain. If I can find the link I’ll attach it

I wouldn't try putting up netting along the balcony - they could still get to that climbing ledge through it. Instead, I'd try stretching some netting or one of those extra long wall-mountable baby gates (something like this https://www.amazon.com/Regalo-192-Inch-Super-Adjustable-Mounts/dp/B003VNKLIY) from one wall to another, sort of creating a triangle with the shape of the balcony. That way they can't even approach it. When they get old enough, you can take the gate down and spackle and paint the mount holes.
Best thing I did was start prenatal vitamins right away (I take One A Day Womens Advance Prenatal with Brain Support), and start tracking your ovulation. Premom is a great app with cheap tests you can get on Amazon.
I am 35 (considered high risk), I was on birth control for 15 years, and it only took us two cycles to get pregnant after I stopped the pill. Being able to see your LH surges with the App is a game changer 😊 Good luck!!
Yes! It's this one by Dr. Browns. It's "supposed" to be for formula but works exactly the same and perfectly with breastmilk. I'm part of a FB group for exclusive pumpers and almost everyone uses it. It makes things a lot easier!
If you want the real (NOT DUMB) thing you can get it here: amazon.com

We have the Infant Optics monitor, which was highly recommended by so many people I've lost count at this point. But you can buy up to four extra cameras to pair to it, and you can pan and zoom in with the cameras too. We LOVE it!
I have this exact one. I just screwed it into the drywall by hand and it holds pretty well.

Congratulations on your first contest! 🎉
The weirdest thing I’ve seen on Amazon is this yodeling pickle! 😂
Thanks for the contest! ❤️

I don’t know exactly what brand I have (it was a gift!) But this one looks really similar. Having some pillow to support the belly and back made a world of difference.
So, I looked for a long time for a WiFI baby cam that didn't require an internet connection. I needed it for two reasons: first, I didn't trust it and didn't want an IoT camera looking into my kid's room; second, the cabin we vacation at doesn't have good internet and when we wanted to have a usable baby cam there (even if I had to bring a WiFi router). I researched, contacted multiple manufacturers, couldn't find anyone that fit the bill. (If you find one, please share! lol)
We finally broke down and went with the Infant Optics monitor, even though there's no remote support. (I can't recommend this enough, we love it, but I understand it doesn't fit your needs.) If we hadn't decided on this, I was going to have to build my own solution with a regular pan/tilt security camera and probably an old tablet as the "monitor".
If this isn't your month, you should invest in amazon cheapies. This is what I use. :) That way I didn't feel terrible about all the testing when I finally got a positive!
We registered for this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ECHYTBI?tag=blvisitor-20
Why we bought it: Good reviews on Amazon. I liked the different lenses and that you can add on another camera. I liked that you can have the monitor "off," but still see if there is sound (the lights will light up).
Why we didn't want a webcam: 1. the security issues (people hacking and talking/seeing baby), 2. we don't have the need to see baby when we aren't home (baby will be at daycare. If we were going the nanny route, I might have changed my tune), 3. i don't want to have to use my iphone as a baby monitor. I'd rather have something that can be "on" all the time rather than toggling to an app/website.
Can't help you with how hard was it to secure - haven't used it yet!
Edited to add: also liked that it came with a temperature sensor. We will probably buy the wide angle lens once baby gets older/mobile.
I love this comment. Lol.
Last cycle I had 6 empty circles, 4 flashing smileys, and then the solid smiley. Considering the fact that sperm can live for 5 days inside you, I'd say that was a pretty good indicator for me. (even though I didn't actually get pregnant but whatever)
But jeez, $35 for 20 sticks!? And that won't even cover 2 full cycles for me, because my cycles were longer than I predicted and I had a lot of empty circles. Meanwhile, there's this mountain of tests for $20 on Amazon, but... I kind of like the smiley faces and the early calls for pot roast... hmm...
FTM here... I got this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ECHYTBI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I originally bought a different one (a WiFi/phone app one), but it was pretty laggy on my phone (which is a pretty good phone & we have pretty good WiFi). DH & I decided to just return it & try another one (the one above). We haven't 'officially' tried it out yet (I'll be 34 weeks tomorrow), but we've played around with it & tried it out a bit for ourselves. In short, the picture is pretty good, the sound is very good, and the parent unit/monitor is very responsive. It's VERY highly rated on Amazon. I know it's early to tell, but I think we're going to be very happy with it. It is a little pricey (around $167 on Amazon), but I still think it's worth the money.
If you're not sure, I just Googled things like 'best baby monitor 2017' or 'best video baby monitor' (depending on the kind you want), and some websites provide very helpful reviews of different monitors (pros & cons, etc).
Hi there! I'm not one of you any more. In fact, my little boy is 18 months old now. I came back to baby bumps and I wanted to make a post about an awesome baby monitor on sale on Amazon today. I seriously LOVE this monitor. I've tried a couple out, but this one kicked the pants off any of them. It's the Infant Optics DXR-8. Infant Optics It's one of the highest rated/most sold monitors on Amazon for a reason.
this is our baby gate, it’s 192 inches at the longest(twice the length of what you need), and can have panels removed to make it shorter or even have extra ones bought to make it longer. It’s on amazon here.
I got this pillow off amazon and it’s been great for sleeping and sitting
Edit: I swing the bottom part up and make a little cushion for me to sit in. I just realized the photos don’t really show that as an example. But you can do a lot with it
