Praying with Beads and the Anglican Rosary
What areas are you interested in?
I know there is the Little Bit Of Series, and the ones I've read pretty beginner-friendly, while having useful information. They also aren't super expensive. This is an amazon link, so you can see the areas they cover; but I know you kind find them at your local witch store, or on Thriftbooks.
Also, if you don't want to throw a ton of money down, try your library. I've found a lot of really good tarot guides, and stuff like Spellwork for Self Care. If you really like to books, you can go buy it for yourself, or copy down what you feel is useful to you.
If she's into house music, don't forget Ultra Music Festival kicks off festival season this weekend and all 3 days will be livestreamed on youtube, umf-tv.
Maybe kick it this weekend with her and watch the stream with some good drink, food, smoke, etc :)
Also this book The Raver Stories Projects came out recently and is a good read.
I read this book before I started. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/076033174X/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 For only about $20 it's a good start. I'm in welding 101 and feel like I'm able to understand where I went wrong faster then others because I read ahead of time.
Get yourself a bracelet or necklace of wooden beads and chant the preferred mantra, once per bead, when you feel anxiety coming on. Practically speaking, mantra occupies the linguistic parts of the brain that tend to go into overdrive when anxiety comes on. If you chant slowly, you can time mantra to relaxed breathing which will lower your heart rate.
If you want to take a deity approach to mantra, be sure to pick a purely beneficent one. No tricksters, etc. You can deal with the darker side of reality once you are more comfortable in your own skin.
I'd second "Om Mane Padme Hum" and also recommend "Om tare tuttare ture svaha." More info on that here: http://www.wildmind.org/mantras/figures/greentara
For a less buddhist, more pagan angle: http://www.amazon.com/Pagan-Prayer-Beads-Meditation-Rosaries/dp/1578633842/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1436316789&sr=1-1&keywords=pagan+prayer+beads
Not a new book and not scifi, but I've been meaning to read Snake Agent.
