I do this with a little electrolysis machine (this one, but it sucks, don't buy it) and slowly I'm making progress. I figure I may as well try to get permanent results while I'm at it.
Unless you have a goatee, you just need the thing all the way on the right. It helps line up trimming your cheeks and neck line. You use your ears and the corners of your mouth to make everything symmetrical. You can Google beard shaping tool to find one. I use this one.
It's the Arkam Beard Straightener Brush. I love it to pieces so far. It takes a long while to cool down after use, which is annoying since I travel a lot and have to pack it away constantly, but other than that it's the bomb! Here's a link to it if you're interested:

Something like this. Imagine a hairbrush fucked a blow dryer.
Oh man, same. I touch up that part* of my cheeks every 3-4 days. I’m lucky enough that they don’t grow too much so I know where to shave them. Sorry I can’t be of much help there :/
Luckily there are things like this now.
Edit: But man, if you are letting it grow from scratch invest on beard oil it helps with the itch you’ll get. Don’t worry about the look so much until you hit the 2nd month mark, depending on how fast your beard grows.
Also after a shower I usually brush my sides up to see the length of it from the upper lip to the sideburns and if it’s too long that’s when I decide to trim it.
Chill. People have lives. This is the machine I used.
Here is the beard care kit I use: Beard Brush, Beard Comb, Beard... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NB10SWS?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
And here is the shampoo and conditioner: Beard Wash & Beard Conditioner... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JNCGGWH?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
How often are you washing or brushing it?
I've used the Arkam Ionic Beard Straightener for a little over a year and it works well and is only $30. The only "issue" I have with it is when you first turn it on, the temperature gauge climbs quickly, but the brush isn't heating up as quickly as the temp gauge indicates. Just give it a couple minutes and it will get up to temp. Otherwise it works great.
Hey bro, I have a similar beard like yours including the weird wavy kink right under my chin. I fixed my beard mainly by just keeping it fairly neat and trimmed, especially on the neck, but, my brother I have a secret weapon: https://www.amazon.com/Beard-brush-straightener-men-straightening-comb/dp/B07Q5C9645
This thing goes to 450 degrees and straightens the fuck out of my curly ass beard hair. Some beard oil and 5 minutes of brushing and my beard is straight and neat. It honestly works wonders. I don't travel anywhere without it anymore. There are cheaper versions as well that I started with before upgrading which also worked well so don't feel like you gotta splurge on the higher end brushes.
Get a beard guide on amazon it’ll make your life a lot easier bro. It helps keep it lined up and even cause without it I tend to go low like you now I just have it at the very top cleaned up the cheek stragglers. But it’s so much easier than eye balling.

I heat to 300 degrees and slowly brush out and the down until it is styled the way I like it.
I've simplified to using a single moisturizing cream for body/face/beard after listening to the advice of some dermatologists on you Youtube. I decided I was making more expense and clutter than I needed or wanted. Used to have something different for them all, and even different ones for different times of day for my face. And if people have products they love, or really specific needs that's good, but this level of simplification has worked great for me. What I have been using is CeraVe moisturizing cream (thick stuff in a jar). Out of the shower, after doing everything else, when my beard hair is steamy and warm and soft still, I rub in that same moisturizer. Keep in mind I keep my beard pretty short. Then I use a stiff brush like the one featured in the kit linked before on my face. This really works it in smoothly and I personally am able to maintain a soft healthily looking beard this way. https://www.amazon.com/Mustache-Scissors-Grooming-Natural-Christmas/dp/B019FYL7L2
I'm familiar with wild Willie's they are pretty popular. Have you tried a better beard comb or even a beard straightener? If you haven't you could see if that helps with the tangles. You could also try a trim to fix any split ends or curls at the end you don't want.

Also for the dryness because you have a good amount of growth, your beard might need to be oiled maybe even twice per day. Morning and maybe night. Using the oil at night will help lock in more moisture. Also, maybe try lowering the temperature of your water only when washing your beard. Super hot water can make the hair dry out.
Its always bristly when it first comes in, takes me a few weeks for it to get long enough to soften up.
Condition it when you shower.
Keep it trimmed around the lips.
And use a beard oil, but only maybe 2 drops, a little goes a long way and is potent. Everyone has their own they like, and it'll also depend on if your GF likes it, but this is what I started with.

I have this one and it works well for me. One thing I have learned with trial and error is to make sure my beard is wet and apply some oil beforehand. I use the lowest temp setting and you want to brush fairly slow. I pull until the hairs have tension on them then slowly brush down and steam will come up as you're doing it from the water/oil. If you brush quickly like you would with a normal brush I have found it does not work nearly as well.
I get mask beard too lol.
Maybe try a straighter?

I have this model from amazon for $15; https://www.amazon.com/Straightener-UPGRADED-Straightening-Stocking-Stuffers/dp/B083LHZJS2?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1&psc=1
The straightener itself is awesome but that beard oil and balm that comes "free" I tossed in the trash cause I didn't like the consistency of the oil on my beard so I tossed those out and kept using my Honest Amish balm. But honestly any straightener should work to the same degree hour wife's flat iron did. I used to only blow dry and thought that was good enough till I got the straightener, now I can't imagine not using it.
I use a beard straightener when I'm running late in the morning. It does a decent job taming the beard, and takes less than a minute.
I use this
Works great, ignore the tards that downvoted me they are just jealous my beard is huge.
I have the smaller version of this heated brush. Very happy with it. (Smaller size looks out of stock currently)

I’ve enjoyed this one - I have two, one to keep at work. Claims to have real boar. I’ve had the first for more than three years, no signs of wear.
Edit: just wanted to add, it really does smooth the beard if used regularly (I do twice to three times a day). Give it time though.

I've have really good luck with this brand since growing my beard. Worked well when it was short and still works as well when it's longer too. Plus the brand name reminds me of the Batman Arkham games.

I've got a beard a cheapo beard oil/balm, off Amazon and also this beard set that came with a brush, mini scissors that suck and a beard comb. The brush is great, the other 2 items I could do with out.
I've got somewhat sensitive skin and the products seem to be fine. I believe the brand is "Grow a beard"
Edit: Found it. They have a kit with everything I got for only $16 (minus the shitty little scissors). https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NB10SWS/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_ReOVEb5Q512DC
