I have a memory foam / down alternative reversible pillow where the memory foam side has a cooling gel patch that stays cool (the down alternative side is the warmer side for winter, but I live in the southern US so it stays on gel all year). I got it off of Amazon apparently 3 years ago and they don’t sell that specific one anymore but I only paid $40 for it and it was an absolute game changer. If it does get warm all it takes is a rotation and BAM, cool on your cheek again.
The one I have is this one, but again they don’t have it in stock so maybe there’s a similar one somewhere.

I have the same damn problem. I went on amazon and got these pillows from Amazon. they’re about 1.5 pillows thick and I love them!!!!!
This is the one I played with in Kohls. When I touched it, my hand had the same experience as dropping like minty eye drops in my eye, or chewing something really peppermint. It just felt significantly cooler.
There are two fills that aren't showing as options on Amazon. The soft fill was probably a bit too soft. I felt like it wouldn't provide a lot of support. If you use 2 pillows to sleep, this would make for an excellent top IMO. The medium one seems to be great on its own for mild support.
I use this pillow and have no overheating issues when sleeping. This pillow is super adjustable to your liking too!

Have you tried sleeping on a soft and flat pillow? I have a down pillow that isn't too lofty (could be higher imo) and it doesn't cause this issue but is still supportive enough when I ball it up to sleep in my side. This is the Amazon link.
I always ended up folding it in half when I slept with it, fuck that pillow.
I bought these pillows off of amazon for a little over $50. Waaay more comfortable and you get 2!
