Salt sticks finally solved my sleep cramping problems, but my game changer out there is this portable bidet. Never underestimate the value of a sparkly clean butt out there.
My boyfriend's cat makes the same face when I take our bidet sprayer off the holder. (It's this style, rather than attached to the seat.) He likes to sit in the bathtub, so I'll spray water from the bidet at the shower wall (the water is clean.) It's a game for him, because he wants to catch the water. Except he's also afraid of the water getting on his face, so he squints. Now he will squint when he hears me pick it up even if he's at my feet or under the linen shelves instead of in the bathtub.

Open it up and clean the filter if it doesn't feel very strong. I couldn't imagine needing stronger than this one. I've tried about 7 different popular ones and this wins.

I would like to stress this was my experience with these two products. Nothing was wrong with them from a price or quality point. I just found the flow to be less than ideal to be effective.

I like that design. I notice a couple of differences from the CuloClean:
- The arrow on top identifies the direction of spray - a nice touch missing in the CuloClean
- It appears to use 4 small holes instead of a single slot - I'm not sure if one is better than the other
- It is designed for use only on pop bottles instead of two sizes - no biggie for me
- It is 3D printed instead of molded - likely more brittle, less durable
I think both designs would work. I am concerned about using a direct pressurized stream for two reasons:
- I use my clean water bottle and I don't want to get shit on my bottle
- I don't want to spray my pants
For those who have used these designs, what is your experience? Is here a risk of getting shit on your bottle? Have you found it difficult to avoid spraying your pants in the process?

I had installed bidet when my wife was first pregnant. It cut our toilet paper usage down by almost 70%. I liked it so much that the started carrying a backcountry bidet on my hiking trips and I don't even carry toilet paper anymore.
After cloth diapering two kids, I tried to convince her that we should just keep it going and use cloth wipes at home to dry of after the bidet but she was not going for it. But I have a box of them down in the basement stored away for the day when we need them.

+1 for the a culo clean plus compressed paper towel tabs. They are in a small TB ghost whale and slips into every overnight trip I have.
I definitely would’ve needed help wiping if I didn’t buy a bidet, I know this because I tried wiping before using it and it was very difficult for me (plus I’m already not very flexible). I got this attachment that you just put on a water bottle for $9.99 on Amazon and it was super user-friendly and so compact you could literally put it in your pocket! I highly recommend getting something like this if it is affordable for you because it was very helpful for when you have a limited range of motion. I hope this helps and good luck on your surgery!!

We mostly use these mini-shower bidets here in the Middle East. I prefer these because it's a bigger stream of water than other styles of bidet attachments (there's more than one brand- I did a search for "mini shower bidet").

Practice just like with anything. Watch videos on folds. Practice the folds before you need to use it.
Take a deep breath any time you feel overwhelmed. There is a learning curve it is as with anything. I say start off by practicing and emptying in the shower. Less mess easy clean up.

Poop itself isn't the problem, it's the toilet paper. That's what they're generally asking that you pack out. You might consider something like the following (test it out first though to see if it works for you)

I use bidet bottle. I used to wipe my butt with toilet paper, but I use too much force and it bled, so I just say f__k it and use bidet bottle lol.
