Esthetician with keratosis pilaris here! I have good luck with this lotion from Alpha (formerly Alpha Hydrox brand). It has 12% glycolic acid with a ph of 4 and its fragrance free!
i’m currently dealing with this as well! i’ve received some advice through this subreddit that’s helped a bit that i’ll list below but def keeping an eye on this thread just in case there’s anything else that helps!
so what you’re dealing with is probably keratosis pilaris (same as i). at first i was going to buy first aid beauty’s ultra repair cream to smooth my skin, but then someone mentioned gold bond’s ultimate rough & bumpy skin cream and it’s been working wonders. FAB’s product is $32 vs gold bond’s $10 product and i have no complaints so far.
what i do is use a dry brush 2-3x a week before i shower to exfoliate my skin then in the shower i’ll also use a cloth with my body wash that helps with exfoliating even more. once out i apply the gold bond cream on my trouble areas and let dry.
hope this helps out!
in-shower exfoliating cloth suggestion: here
This is kind of a tricky question because how do you define "budget"?
For me, I consider Cosrx products very affordable and would instantly jump to say they're great 'budget' products, but maybe to another they're too pricey.
I guess if I had to look at best 'bang for your buck' with my routine and products, I'd say the following have been great HGs I repurchase all the time:
Kikumasamune Lotion ($1.65/fl oz.) Before COVID I was going to Japan usually once a year, and this thing was under $10 USD at Donki. Even with the online markup, it takes me ages to go through a bottle. I don't have any issues with fungal acne, so it always does a nice job. I like the white bottle too for lighter coverage. If I picked up a bottle on my annual Japan trip, it was all but guaranteed to last until my next time.
Hada Labo Hyaluronic Lotion in Light ($3.33/fl oz) Obviously way smaller than the Kikumasamune, but I only use a few drops at a time, so it lasts me forever. It's also (again), way cheaper in Japan at Donki. It rounds out my routine's need for moisturizer and does a great job!
I have had KP in places on my body and had read amazing things about Cerave: Rough and Bumpy Skin lotion... I recently tried this and it is by FAR the most effective lotion I have ever used for anything in my life. Give it a chance, it was life changing for me!
It honestly sounds like you could have dehydrated skin and you should check out /r/skincareaddiction and /r/asianbeauty
Asian beauty was extremely helpful to me as I have almost completely restored my skin and it is so much better, plumper and brighter. I find that there are great, drugstore friendly priced products that you can use with an AB skincare routine, although the sometimes it might be harder to get products as quick, as most ship from Asian countries. One thing that has helped me is using a hyaluronic serum before I use a hyaluronic face mask. I use these twice a day (when I have the time, which is almost daily). I also use the hyaluronic serum before my mask, let it sink in for a couple minutes, put the face mask on and keep it on until it starts drying out (about 45 min, which seems long but I prioritize it). I then take the mask off and let it all soak into my skin for a couple mins, use the hyaluronic serum again, let it soak in and then out my moisturizer on. I've only been doing this for the past month and the intense change in my skin is absolutely ridiculous. These are the two products I use. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000FQUGXA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_ and https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IK8E6CC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_1Pq3wbJQ8VPVV
If you're worried about the price, you can buy bundles of sheet masks on Amazon for low prices.
I've fallen into an Asian Skincare hole lately, and absolutely LOVE Hada Labo Gokujyn Hyaluronic Lotion Moist as a moisturizer for oily skin. It's super lightweight, makes my skin so bouncy and hydrated, is cheap and you can get it with fast shipping from Amazon.
You def need to moisturize, that's what makes the difference. If you don't like doing it outside the shower(i fucking hate it) try the in-shower lotion or almond oil in the shower. I'll never go back.
I have a similar eczema and always did. It was so bad as kid, I was bloody from scratching and on steroids. I have manged it for years , but use as much moisturizer as you. It's a job.
I really love Cerave lotions and the cream in the vat. It has has ceramides and hyaluronic acid. Eucerin is great too and I use both. The healing ointment is their vaseline which is amazing as it has other stuff. I love Eucerine AtoContorl too. Aveeno Eczema therapy too.
I think you should try hydratoring toners and layering up. They are for the face but works all over. I really find it helpfull. I highly recommend the Kikumasmune High Moist Lotion (toner). I use this all over as it's cheap and comes in a huge bottle. Best after the shower on damp skin. Then Cerave lotion or cream. Then more cream on the eczema prone ares.
Also love Scinic All in One Snail Ampoule - is a moisturizing serum, which comes in what looks like a honey like jar. . They make a honey version too. If you put them in pump bottles (Amazon sells little amber ones), it's easier to use. I use it after the kikumamune, which I use all over. Snail I use just where i get eczema. CosRX Snail Essence is another option.
Hada labo lotion is very high level hyaluroinc acid. That is great. They make a premium and a moist. Both are great on body or face. Another cult product.
Use very gentle cleanser is key. Aveeno bath washes. Eucerin Calming Shower Oil Cleanser is my current favorite. Smells funky and feels like an oil but rinses off and does clean.
I don't know if you have tried German Nivea in the tin jar. It's got something that isn't in the American. Both are good. Also Nivea enriched lotion (not German). Scent is strong, but it's really rich. I have been reaching for it lately.
I see "crows feet" and I think "dehydrated". So.
1) Replace your exfoliant with CeraVe Hydrating facial cleanser. It's not going to feel like your face is clean for the first like week to two weeks because you're probably used to the very squeaky clean (stripped) feeling. But focus on how your skin feels about two minutes after you pat it dry - that clean-but-not-desert feeling is delightful.
2) Add a purely hydrating layer. Depending on what type of environment you're in, that might be Hada Labo lotion or a serum. If you're in a dryer area, you probably want a glycerine-based serum or lotion rather than a hyaluronic acid based one, as HA can actually draw water from your skin if there isn't enough in the air.
3) Consider a thicker night cream like CeraVe in the tub, Jason Gentle Basics night cream, or (again depending on your area) a thin layer of petroleum jelly (Vaseline) to help your skin keep the moisture in it. If you're in central California or the south - somewhere with humid air - putting your hydrating layer on, sitting for a minute or two, then finishing with Vaseline might be enough. If you're in Tucson, you're probably going to want something like the CeraVe in the tub or the Jason to add additional layers of hydration to your skin.
4) As /u/glittercrotch said, r/asianbeauty is a great resource. There are lots of skincare companies in various Asian countries that have affordable, high quality products that you can get on Amazon. The Hada Labo lotion is one, and you might check out something like the Hada Labo Skin Plumping Gel-Cream for your thicker cream step.
This one from Hado Labo is excellent and inexpensive. About 6oz for $15-$20. It also contains 5 different molecular weights of HA, something I have never seen in an American product. This is more like a serum, so you would still want a separate moisturizer. https://www.amazon.com/Hadalabo-Gokujyun-Premium-Hyaluronic-5-7floz/dp/B06X3R1LL3/ref=sr_1_9?crid=1G9G95QWMTHUU&dchild=1&keywords=hada+labo+hyaluronic+acid&qid=1618713700&sprefix=Hado+labo%2Caps%2C197&sr=8-9
Even if it does, part of enabling is having a link ready for a newbie to fall into the rabbit hole ;)
This toner is super popular here. It's a huge bottle, $14 on Amazon prime, some people feel it smells like a mix of sake and bubblegum. The scent dissipates right away, so you won't be left smelling it.
Kikumasamune Sake Skin Lotion High Moisture - 500ml https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ECQCVK0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_ZWWKybBMDP477
this product comes highly recommended and contains 12% glycolic acid. i would try it once a week and slowly increase the usage if your skin tolerates it. remember to avoid sensitive areas.
i would also incorporate a nourishing moisturizer like la roche posay lipikar balm or eucerin advanced repair cream to replenish moisture after chemical exfoliation.
good luck!
Since you're looking for a toner, Kikamasamune toner is really good! It's only 10.81 right now on amazon and you get a huuuge thing of it! It's very hydrating too and makes my skin so so plump and soft.
No problem! And we were all amateurs at some point! :)
Btw you can find some pretty cheap hydrating toners online. For instance the Kikumasamune High Moist Lotion that many people love in this sub is only $14 for a giant 500mL on Amazon Prime. Toners tend to be one of the cheaper AB products because there's such high water content haha. I hope you find a great toner!
ETA: LOL I didn't realize somebody else had linked you to this exact same thing already!
I got the Kiku :) This is the store I used https://www.amazon.com/Kikumasamune-Sake-Skin-Lotion-Moisture/dp/B00ECQCVK0/ref=sr_1_1?m=A111T5BUDCP21Y&s=merchant-items&ie=UTF8&qid=1492757420&sr=1-1&refinements=p_4%3AKikumasamune
(I hoped that worked, I am so not proficient in Amazon)
I still had some gift card money on Amazon US so I ordered it from there (now finding a seller with no Amazon global fees took some extra time though). But Amazon.fr has it for free shipping here.
If you mean little bumps, deff look at Pinterest and reviews etc for a or glycolic acid product! I use Kiehls Glycolic acid body wash with a scrubbing mit and the lotion from amazon attached. It works wonders!
The only way to get rid or reduce bumps (again, I don't know what your bumps actually are, acne? kp? dry skin?) chemical exfoliants can help.
I am not seeing many strong glycolic products available in the UK for whatever reason. This one is 12% glycolic acid, pretty strong and effective, a little goes a long way, and you do not need to use it every day.Alpha 12% Its also almost 400ml.
This lactic lotion looks good to me Ameliorate, I also saw a PIXI brand glycolic body lotion, but it's pretty small, they also have a glycolic body soap.
The serum you linked looks good for your face but maybe too hard to use on your body and its only 150ml you would use it up in 2 weeks!
Look for any glycolic, lactic, or even urea in a lotion for exfoliation. In the meantime, use the lotion you have. Use the soaps you have, and scrub (you shouldn't feel raw or irritated) regularly. I use the salicylic on my back only, personally.
I like girly, scented lotions but I always use the retinol oil either alone or under my lotion. I only use the strong glycolic when my skin is extra dry or bumpy. I do like lactic and urea for general upkeep, I have cycle those through my routine (they are gentle and hydrating to my dry skin in the winter). Try some stuff and see what works for you and what doesn't. Have fun and good luck!
Linked to the Amazon UK one!
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Rohto-Hadalabo-Gokujyn-Hyaluronic-Lotion/dp/B000FQUGXA
This is the one I'd recommend as you have oily skin. There is an orange bottle which is the premium version for extra hydration. But given it's coming up to summer as well I think you're better off starting with the original.
Cerave Moisturizing Lotion is £10 on Amazon. If you live in London you can have it delivered by tomorrow evening for free using the Amazon Prime trial. You might also be able to be in some shops in the UK, I don't know.
This moisturiser has a 5/5 rating on Paula's Choice's beautypedia. I have it myself and it's really good, in my opinion one of the best moisturisers you can buy in the UK.
You could also order the Paula's Choice moisturiser from their website. It would take a few days to get to you, though.
Is this the Hada Labo product that everyone talks about on here?
or is it this one?
https://www.amazon.com/Hada-Labo-Hadalabo-Gokujun-Hyaluronic/dp/B00BSNBO9O/ref=dp_ob_title_hpc
I've only ordered electronics, books, etc from Amazon, never a face product. It's legit and safe? Do you guys order it from somewhere else?
And even though it's a toner, can I substitute it as a moisturizer since my skin doesn't have any issues with dryness?
Thanks!
I'm interested in buying the Hadalabo lotion but there are two different versions being offered on Amazon:
The older version (more expensive)
Is there any benefit in buying the older version?
I've been looking for something like this too! I found this 12 oz bottle on Amazon Prime!
I bought this hadolabo from amazon back in February but never used it. I want to test it now but realise my packaging doesn't look like that but instead this.
According to amazon I definitely bought it from the first link however the packaging isn't the same. So what do i have? haha but more importantly would you trust it?
Is there an easy way to tell the difference between Hada Labo toners on Amazon (between light/moist etc)? I've been repurchasing it for a long time now, my first 2 from this link. I went to rebuy it again and saw that there's an updated version of it, but now the name says "Moist", which it didn't before. Does this mean I've always been buying the Moist version?
I bought mine on Amazon JP. This is the link. I don't know how Amazon Global Shipping works since I live in Japan.
PLEASE HELP!
I have Malassezia and bought the Hada Labo Hyaluronic Acid Lotion on Amazon. I received the product today, but noticed the formula is different from the one f.c. talks about on this blog post. I am not sure if it's also safe to use or if I should return it. Can anybody help? Here are the old and new formulas:
OLD
Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Disodium Succinate, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid,Hydroxyethycellulose, Methylparaben, PPG-10 Methyl Glucose Ether, Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Succinic Acid
NEW
Water, Dipropylene Glycol Dimethyl Ether, Alcohol, Glycerin, Disodium Succinate, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Methylparaben, PPG-10 Methyl Glucose Ether, Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Succinic Acid
I highlighted the different ingredients.
Thank you so much for your help!
The honey is on Amazon for 12.99 right now. I have been using the regular hada labo "lotion"
HADALABO Gokujun Hyaluronic Lotion Moist https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074GX619Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_NKMtCb5FNQ6ZY
Have you tried it? If so how does it compare to the honey? If the honey is better I might have to grab some before they become rarer
I'll pick up the SPF today and order this recommendation. I'm happy with the ingredients list and reviews, and your personal cosign. I'm being told by Amazon UK that this is the "newer" version of your recommendation. Is this the case, or should I stick to this? I'm afraid I do not read Japanese. Is this an aesthetic or ingredient difference?
All the best to your wife...
For overall body skin moisturizer, I use Alpha Skin Care (renewal body lotion). I put it on after a shower and it does a fantastic job of keeping skin dewy (without an oily feeling).
For face, CeraVe moisturing lotion (day) and CeraVe night renewal cream.
LOL😂 I’m so sorry I meant to say dry skin!!! Sorry I’m on my phone responding
If you’re more on the normal side, even to slight oily I recommend the white bottle. Give me a minute I’ll post the links
Lighter version:
Premium:
Both are also highly recommend on multiple skincare subs. Of course, they don’t work for everyone, but I’ve seen the vast majority of people have great results. I’ve got through a bottle plus 2 refill packs myself of the premium. I love it!! The lighter version was perfect for me before I started tret, when I wasn’t so dry.
Goldbond Rough and Bumpy is amazing for this.
But the smell is gross to me, although it dissipates quickly, I still need to mix it with something else to make it smell better.
Use it daily for a week and you should see major improvement.
It has a mix of AHA and BHA acids that really help get the dead layers off without over exfoliating and it moisturizes as well.

Masturbating with a paper towel is never going to feel good. A toy of some sort might be a good idea, but even just using decent lube will make a huge difference. Tastes vary, but I like Astroglide. You can probably buy a bottle at your local supermarket. For cleanup, lay the paper towel on your chest and aim up: if you’re focusing on where you’re ejaculating, you’re not focusing on your orgasm, which means it’ll be less satisfying.
Also, hands shouldn’t feel rough. I’m sorry, but that’s just gross. Buy yourself some decent lotion; I recommend CeraVe : it softens skin better than (cheap) mineral oil-based lotions; it doesn’t feel greasy or leave prints all over; and it doesn’t have a strong scent—a man could use it without coming across as feminine.
Besides the obvious (retinoids and spf) this Kikumasamune product which saved my barrier impaired skin and made me want to try all other products from the brand.
I don’t exactly have a routine, but here are a few things I have learned that have helped me:
For body/hands I use an eczema therapy lotion from either Cerave or Cetaphil. I like the Cetaphil ones better because they’re a little less greasy. They’re a little expensive but for getting moisture into dry skin that’s about as good as it gets.
I use an in-shower lotion like this one as my last shower step. It seems dumb, but it legitimately helps.
One of the best things I ever did after moving to Phoenix was to start taking a daily allergy med. If your skin is both dry and itchy start working in an allergy pill every morning. I like Claritin, but I also had good results with Allegra and Zyrtec.
When I’m going to do outdoor activities I don’t usually do the combo lotion/sunscreens because they suck at both things. I find that just good old 80 SPF sunscreen makes a nice layer on my skin and prevents the burn and seals up my dry skin. Once I’m done with whatever I’m doing I wash off the sunscreen and put on my normal moisturizer.
For facial moisturizer, I prefer to avoid the really fancy hyaluronic acid stuff. Here’s a good explanation why. You can use it, but in our dry climate it takes extra work to get it to work correctly. I just use a normal Aveeno face product.
If you’re going to swim in a pool, rinse yourself off thoroughly immediately after getting out whenever possible. Then moisturize after you’ve rinsed yourself off.
I too was going to suggest exfoliating in the shower and moisturizing after, but since you’re already doing that and it’s not working, it’s probably worth it to see a dermatologist to check for underlying conditions.
If you just had general ashiness, I would have recommended this AHA lotion too, which has worked great for me.
But if you have something like keratosis pilaris, something with added lactic acid might be better like this.
isnt korean, but japanese. Hado Labo hyaluronic moist lotion (in japan they refer to toners as lotion) it is superrr hydrating and makes my skin feel so supple and soft. the hyaluronic acid in it really helps to lock in moisture to hydrate your skin. not only is it good for hydrating, it also tones your face. it's around $11-13 on amazon, yesstyle, walmart. i ordered mine on amazon :) https://www.amazon.com/HADALABO-Gokujun-Hyaluronic-Lotion-Moist/dp/B074GX619Q
34m here currently mostly using The Ordinary stuff.
I start with Thayers Toner, then add this hyaluronic acid, add The Ordinary Caffeine Eye serum, the finish with Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA Daily Moisturizer.
I am wondering if anyone can advise me on a new moisturizer, I liked the one that came in the Brickells Face moisturizer that comes in the sample kit. I like that it's light and absorbing, rather than thick and more coating.
I may go back to The Inkey List Caffeine eye solution as well, I like the lighter cream over how the serum feels. Thoughts on this?
Skin dryness is directly associated to an estrogen deficiency, so replacing that estrogen will help with all dryness (eyes, skin, vagina, mouth, etc).
As for topical all-over-body lotion, I use Alpha Skin Care Revitalizing Body Lotion
Simple: Get a cheap bottle of moisturizing lotion next to your bed. One with a dispenser. Then after every shower moisturize your whole body including your face. (I like CeraVe but they are all similar: CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion for Dry Skin | Body Lotion & Facial Moisturizer with Hyaluronic Acid and Ceramides | 12 Fl Ounce https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000YJ2SLG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_AA7MW8RV4NNY4EBNBHN0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 )
I have KP which prevents me from getting smooth, and AHA lotion (glycolic acid, a chemical exfoliant) while stupid expensive really does help. I use this one strictly because it’s surprisingly less expensive than most of them while still costing what I think is a lot, but it does the trick for me. Link
Mixing Cetaphil with BBW is such a good idea!
My favorite is this Hada Labo hydrating toner. The naming is kinda confusing, but the “lotion moist” is the OG. It’s not a lotion in the typical sense — it’s watery (thin, clear) but slippy, fragrance free, and absorbs in seconds. Applying to slightly damp skin is best, just like you mention above :) It also comes in a larger pump size + you can buy refill bags. I use it on my whole face — putting this on under lip balm was a revelation. I also keep some in a thin-tipped squeeze bottle, and massage it into my scalp, and it never makes my roots gunky. I’ve bought sooo many bottles over the years — it’s such a boring/unremarkable product but I always come back to it because it’s just that good.
My other favorite is the Cerave Daily Moisturizing Lotion, which is not water-based per se but has a lot of hyaluronic acid in it. Its one of the only body products I can use alone / covers all the bases for me. Their PM facial moisturizer is also holy grail status for me. (It’s only called PM to differentiate from their AM formula, which has SPF — it’s relatively lightweight and great for whenever. CeraVe is analogous to Cetaphil in that they’re formulated for ultra-sensitive skin, but I find CeraVe products to be a bit more hydrating.
Neutrogena has a Hydro Boost line (both face and body care) that’s pretty good as well, but it has a pretty strong aquatic fragrance + I do find I need to reapply sooner.
Big ups to skincare Reddit / the whole dry skin squad 💦 which is where I’ve gotten my recommendations over the years. It’s taken a village to keep from me getting crackly! 😂
I’ve been using Sebamed with urea and it’s very moisturizing. Sometimes I apply jojoba oil to my skin under/mixed with a lighter lotion.
I’ve also been using up a bottle of Hada Labo (hyalluronic toner that gave me whiteheads on my face) on my body. I apply it to damp skin followed by my regular moisturizer and it does seem to make my skin more hydrated.
The cold weather kills me with dry skin. I use this stuff when I shower and it's pretty good. Doesn't leave me feeling like a slimy lizard lol.
no problem. heres a link to the one i recommend
Congrats about the lupron, probably not about the spiro. That’s a good thing, spiro sucks and has bad side effects. Here’s a really easy skincare setup and if you use just these in a few weeks you’ll be glowing!
Do this twice a day:
Rub this all over your face and neck and everywhere and massage it in a bit and wait about 3 minutes for it to dry a bit. Hadalabo Gokujun Hyaluronic Lotion Moist, 5.74 Fl. Oz https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074GX619Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_0XVJERQQ5Z5R83RAJQD7
Then massage this stuff all over your face and neck.
The moisturizer locks in the water already absorbed by your skin. At least that's what I was told. My skin feels great now though so I believe it.
I use this stuff... CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion for Dry Skin | Body Lotion & Facial Moisturizer with Hyaluronic Acid and Ceramides | Fragrance Free | 12 Ounce https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000YJ2SLG/ref=cm_sw_r_apanp_oKM2fHLxxfSxQ
Most products just have one or two exfoliating acids, since they all work similarly and can cause irritation if you use too much. You can search for AHA/BHA combo products to find ones that have effective combinations for doing a lot of exfoliating - this body lotion from CeraVe is one I use that has both salicylic and lactic acids. It may sting slightly if your skin isn’t used to it, so you can mix it with another moisturizer if you need to tone it down a little.
Hada Labo. The Japanese have perfected it and make serums with five different sizes so it hits every layer of your skin. Any of their serums, lotions, or creams have it and they all work well. You just have to be sure to seal it in or be in humid conditions or else it will reverse-suck the moisture out of your skin.
This lasts me at least a year and I use it freely. It makes your skin hydrated with no oil at all, which is nice for a lot of people. Read the reviews for good tips on how to use it.
It’s also lots cheaper than shit like L’Oreal or the fancier brands that sell it for like $80 vs $14. The Ordinary also makes one but I do not care for it.
How long go did you get the tattoo?
Your artist should have given you instructions on healing and soaps to use.
That being said I use Dove body wash and it’s great. Assuming you’re out of the healing phase, I also suggest Nivea in shower moisturizer. I don’t use it every day but it really makes the tattoo pop.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NV9KLXS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_R81G2WKYH5HZTYVN1F48
What body wash/soap do you use? If you want to try something new, check out the Aveeno body washes/soaps.
For your upper body acne, get Stridex Maximum Strength Pads (red box). After you shower, dry yourself, then use a Stridex pad on target areas. (Stridex pads need to be used on clean, dry skin to be effective.)
For your lower body dryness, get a 10% urea cream. Read this post to learn more about urea. I recommend Eucerin Roughness Relief Cream (make sure to get the Cream, NOT the Lotion, because the Lotion is greasier than the Cream).
However, if you live in a warmer climate and you think that a cream would be too much, consider using a hydrating toner on your lower body. I use this Kikumasamune toner (pink bottle) in the summer, and it provides the perfect amount of hydration.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06X3R1LL3/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_9B9MJZZ6XHX44NW85WKQ
Love this stuff. I go through a bottle every two or three months, using it twice a day. My skin is extremely flaky and dry naturally (the dead skin is really noticeable when I neglect moisturizing) and this keeps it under control. Thanks for the compliment :)
This is what I use. Never found anything better. Pretty reasonably priced. Doesn't have any typical rosacea irritants.
Rohto Hadalabo Gokujyun Premium Hyaluronic Acid Lotion 5.7floz/170ml https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06X3R1LL3/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_9B9MJZZ6XHX44NW85WKQ
Ooh, I just got the same cardigan in lilac. I think the pumpkin and lilac are both fun colors for layering it in the fall/winter.
I HIGHLY recommend the gold bond cream with the same exfoliating acids as the Amlactin. I’m on my 8th tub now. It doesn’t really have a scent, but you want to apply at night under socks/pants/clothing, because it sloughs your skin off overnight. Then just scrub in the shower the next morning. It gets rid of dry skin and bumps sometimes in one use for me. Gold Bond Rough & Bumpy Daily Skin Therapy, Unscented, 8 Ounce https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00MMKAM5E/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_2BSAYY99101TFBR928N4
Except for your sunscreen, stop using literally every product in your routine. I recommend getting these products:
-Vanicream Cleanser (less drying than Cerave Foaming Cleanser)
-Hada Labo Hydrating Toner (Amazon link)
-Eucerin Advanced Repair Cream (make sure to get the Cream, not the Lotion, because the Lotion is greasier) (this product contains 5% urea, read this link to learn why urea is important for healing dehydrated skin)
-Melazepam (I linked this earlier in a different comment)
This is how I'd structure your routines:
AM: Vanicream cleanser > Hada Labo toner > Eucerin cream > SPF
PM: Vanicream cleanser > Hada Labo toner > Eucerin cream > Melazepam (spot treatment for acne)
It will probably take you 2 to 4 weeks to heal your dehydrated skin. Keep me updated on your progress!
Yep, it sounds like certain foods affect your skin. Lol yes, soooo many of us on here learned more from Reddit than from our doctors. :(
I actually had this exact problem. The only thing I found that helped was this glycolic acid lotion . I still get back acne , but it really helps with the hyper pigmentation and bumps. Just make sure you wear sunscreen during the day.
The simplest the better.

You could try this, it's not expensive and I've seen good reviews for it on a number of sites. I bought some for my husband who has the same issue as you. It should get here today 😁 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MMKAM5E/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_1KPA34W116FSAM8A474W

It’s Hada Labo Premium. I haven’t tried the Premium version but have tried the Moist version. It’s a toner/watery consistency and I thought it was okay, didn’t repurchase. I prefer the Kikumasamune.
hi! first time asking a question on this subreddit so nice to meet all of you!!
I recently bought this hadalabo lotion on amazon bc i assumed it was legitimate since it had thousands of reviews and it was listed as amazons choice, but what do you think of the distributor hakoco? have any of you ever bough products through them? do you think i am using a fake or does it look safe? im always kind of wary of buying makeup or skincare off amazon!

Try something like this. At the end of a shower you step out of the water, put it on and then rinse it off. Makes a huge difference
No problem! I use this and its great https://www.amazon.com/Hadalabo-Gokujyun-Premium-Hyaluronic-5-7floz/dp/B06X3R1LL3?pd_rd_w=jfPam&pf_rd_p=7a695a6b-3610-4583-9730-4d63d22b28b7&pf_rd_r=FTZ22N7S05T3CHJ958C2&pd_rd_r=3d2cd016-a730-4f71-b4ce-23862755a9ac&pd_rd_wg=nxNfC&pd_rd_i=B06X3R1LL3&psc=1&ref_=pd_bap_d_rp_22_t
i was reading about this alpha skincare product: https://www.amazon.com/Alpha-Skin-Care-Fragrance-Free-Paraben-Free/dp/B01FX1FAH8/ref=sr_1_3?crid=ASAX98SUZA3Y&dchild=1&keywords=alpha+skin+care&qid=1609736171&sprefix=alpha+skin%2Caps%2C170&sr=8-3

if i use this every night will it help fade away hyperpigmentation on my body faster the TO products?
Alpha skincare is a great brand that nobody is talking about. They are known for their AHA products. Their Renewal body lotion 12% is cheap, moisturizer and affective.
I'm 35 and still fighting my eczema. It's way milder now, and mine was never as severe as yours, but I found a couple things that helped me out. Gold Bond Rough and Bumpy Skin helped reduce a large brown and bumpy patch on my arm, and recently my wife found Glad Skin which has been really effective for me (when I'm good about putting it on 😂)

Thanks for the advice! I'll check out glycolic acid lotion

The scar is near my armpit. The scar is mostly flat, although it seems very slightly raised at the spot where it bled a few months ago

I was looking at one of Alpha Skincare's 12% glycolic acid lotion: https://www.amazon.com/Alpha-Skin-Care-Fragrance-Free-Paraben-Free/dp/B01FX1FAH8

They don't mention scar treatment in their description. Would you still recommend using it on a scar?
This is the one I got in October
It was just the first prime option to pop up! I am aware of fake products but I've always bought my hada labo toners from Amazon without a problem so I just went for it.
Edit: I wanted the old formula which is why the pictures are the old bottle, but I got the new one instead. It doesn't look like it's prime anymore so you can always try another highly rated prime seller. Like I said I've seemed to have good luck with these toners on Amazon.
I’m trying to hunt down a bottle of one of Hado Labo’s Premium. Is there any way to guarantee the authenticity if I buy from Amazon? Like this one? https://www.amazon.com/Hadalabo-Gokujyun-Premium-Hyaluronic-5-7floz/dp/B06X3R1LL3
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06X3R1LL3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1
I got it from amazon and it is a genuine product. I did think it was fake upon delivery at first only because the bottle didn't look like the one pictured (they haven't updated with the 2020 edition, which is what they are selling now). I wanted to buy it from Yesstyle but at the time, it was sold out.
Here is the yesstyle link with the 2020 edition: https://www.yesstyle.com/en/tcuc.USD/coc.US/info.html/pid.1095000352?googtrans=en&gclid=CjwKCAiA17P9BRB2EiwAMvwNyA-Kbp95pH6Ixm3g4JiTv6oPGuXcAUcheIa6SPup4DCADzjNOKf9LxoCq0UQAvD_BwE##productAnchor
This stuff has helped my childhood eczema scarring as well as my very irresponsible habits after my first wax (holy embarrassment, Batman 😳). Between using that, a sugar scrub 2 or 3 times a week, and waxing instead of shaving, I'm almost healed up enough to wear shorts just in time for winter 😂
I already posted a question this week but i'm back with one more:
I recently purchased this "toner" and an AHA. I've read that you're supposed to put toner on before an AHA, should I still follow that rule in this situation?
I'm just a lil confused because according to Amazon comments, the toner I bought isn't really a toner but hyaluronic acid.
Also worried about somehow giving myself a chemical burn by combining acids because i'm not sure how chemical burns work :,)
My skin is so dry and even organ oil and moisturizer was cutting it. I started using a japanese toner called Kikumasamune High Moist about a month ago and is has helped so so much. It comes in a huge bottle and i usually pat 3 layers into my skin before moisturizing an the AM and PM. Here is the link to it on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Kikumasamune-Sake-Skin-Lotion-Moisture/dp/B00ECQCVK0/ref=sr_ph_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1511592737&sr=sr-1&keywords=kikumasamune but I believe you can find it on other Asian beauty/ skincare sites as well. It has seriously turned things around for me hydration wise!
Hi guys! Really interested in incorporating hyaluronic acid into my skin care, and have been eyeing the Hada Labo Rohto Gokujun Hyaluronic Lotion Moist.
However, I see two listings for it on Amazon-- this one is a bit cheaper than this one, and also lists parabens further down on the ingredients list, so I'm def more interested in that first one. In the Q&As, the seller states that the packaging is different than in the older listing because it is the reformulation from summer 2017 (therefore it has new packaging). Is this true? It barely has any reviews so it seems a bit sketchy to me. I don't even see the supposed reformulation on the Hada Labo website.
Does anyone know if it's a fake or legit? Please and ty.
Dry climate, super hard water. I got a Salux cloth off eBay (you can find them on amazon too I believe) and I am hooked. They are extremely exfoliating, so you have to get used to the feeling but nothing has softened my skin like this. I’m not too fussy about body wash as long as it’s not too drying but I HIGHLY recommend Nivea In-shower Body Creme after washing, I hate putting body cream on after a shower and this stuff has helped my dry, itchy skin when I get out.
Only downside is it turns your shower into a deathtrap- sooooo slippery
I buy it on Amazon. This one is prime I think, but you can get it for cheaper if you're willing to wait a month for it to ship from Japan. No I've never seen anything like it in Western products.
Hada Labo Rohto Gokujyn Hyaluronic Acid Lotion, 170ml https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000FQUGXA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_cV3wBbA822254
Sorry, the label wrapper came off of my Hadalabo hyaluronic solution when I opened it, but it’s amazon hadalabo. I alternate the AHA and BHA every other day.
I’ve read to do toner before exfoliating, which I did with my old Thayer’s toner. I just switched to HL, as some people said they used it as a toner, and it’s so serum-like! Should I still be doing it before exfoliating?
No problem, I hope I could help some! I use clarifying cleansing gel with bija seed oil from Innisfree, but honestly I wouldn't recommend if you're having moisture issues right now, because it has salicylic acid in it so it's not super gentle. If you're still having the issue and want to try the toner though, I'd recommend that one because I think it's a good product, but it also comes in a huge bottle for a good price. Here's an amazon link
I hope you get it all worked out :)
Hi - I’m attaching a link to it in Amazon Prime. I am a Hada Labo fan girl so keep that in mind when I tell you it’s brilliant.
Asian Beauty does not use Toners in the typical US sense as typically calls them them Lotions but sometimes does refer to them as Toners. Toners range from water to almost serum consistency and are used in a layering process to ensure the skin remains well moisturized. For far more detailed reasons why, head over to the Asian Beauty Sub.
HL Premium is popular as it uses a version of Urea that is considered more moisturizing and less keratolytic at what is believed to be a 3% concentration. It can be used immediately after washing your face if you are using it to buffer Tret.
Rohto Hadalabo Gokujyun Premium Hyaluronic Acid Lotion 5.7floz/170ml https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06X3R1LL3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_GjUSDb2FFG5AV
There are a lot of HL lines - they all typically have 3 or more HA in the mix - but they are formulated for different concerns.
I like the Alpha Skin Care Renewal Body Lotion 12% Glycolic (Amazon Link), but only tend to get it on sale. I like the Alpha Skin Care one better than any of the Amlactin products, but I know a lot of people like Amlactin. YMMV.
My legs and arms also like some physical exfoliation every now and again, for which I usually use a basic sugar scrub.
I mix a very basic Lactic Acid exfoliant for my body. I use this sparingly a few times a week, and it has worked for me. The end formula has, aside from distilled water, 20% Lactic Acid, adding glycerin as a humectant, baking soda to adjust the ph, and Liquid Germall Plus as a preservative. If you check out r/DIYBeauty, you can find some resources.
Based on Amazon photos, I think it’s Hada Labo Hyaluronic Lotion.

I'm using a 2% salicylic acid body wash for acne on my back and I noticed it doesn't reduce PIH because it's a BHA. Can I incorporate something like this along w the body wash to help fade my PIH?
Dehydrated skin means lack of water content. The best thing I do for me is to use a hydrating toner, like Hada Labo or Kikumasamune Sake Rich Moisture Lotion Toner
Your skin is very nice by the way. No visible pores, no deep etched wrinkles, some 11 lines on the forehead (probably from worries).
For your skin I would suggest 3 products for a reboot.
The Ordinary AHA/BHA peel. At home peel solution. Follow the instruction and leave on 2-5 minutes for the first time. Use once a week. Absolutely must use SPF after ppel because it's young fresh skin underneath.
The Ordinary 0.5% retinol in squalane. It's a gentle retinol to use and it will start turning your skin cells over faster (e.g., slough off old skin).
Hada Labo Gokyujum Premium Moist Lotion - pad on cleaned and moist face 2-3 drops and moisturize.
(SPF 40+) You have good skin so you can just use the tinted one.
That one has spf so I wouldnt use it in the evening
This is the one I use, sorry if it doesn't link it Im on mobile. Just keep at it and don't let it stress you out too much! Believe in your skin, it will heal itself in time!
That makes a lot of sense. Again thanks for the tips! Here’s the link to the moisturizer. CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion | 12 Ounce | Face & Body Lotion for Dry Skin with Hyaluronic Acid | Fragrance Free https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000YJ2SLG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_9E2eFbWA9FB0M And this is the link to the night cream. CeraVe Night Cream for Face | 1.7 Ounce | Skin Renewing Night Cream with Hyaluronic Acid & Niacinamide | Fragrance Free https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SNPCSUY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_5F2eFbCNNH6GM
I'm a guy and honestly the Pond's fragrance is little to none at all, but I prefer products with no fragrance because it's not necessary. Although I was talking about: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000YJ2SLG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_TXoeFbHDHRVS4 Your opinion was cool tho!
I use this Hada Labo and this Kikumasamune one (I don't get them from amazon btw). I put on Melano CC after cleansing and wait it out for a while before I proceed with toner, essence, etc.
I like this Alpha Body lotion with 12% glycolic acid. It smells way better than the Gold Bond rough and bumpy skin but that is another option.
Try kikumasamune high moist toner. Uber moisturizing and extremely inexpensive. You can get it on Amazon for less than $13 for 500mL. Very brightening for skin, too 😁

My boyfriend gets psoriasis on his face a couple times a year and uses this when it starts to get angry: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074GX619Q/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It stops the flaking, soothes the skin and makes it look way less red. If his skin is still irritated, he'll top it off with this shea creme (gotta buy it from their website, it isnt available on Amazon anymore unfortunately). Which keeps the skin super soft and non-irritated. https://www.aromanaturals.com/products/soft-whipped-shea-butter-cr-eacute-me-5oz-bottle
If you don’t think it’s POD, I’d add a hydrating toner. You can get dry patches if your skin is dehydrated. You’re looking for humectants like glycerin, hyaluronic acid, etc. A popular one is the Hada Labo Gokujun Hyaluronic Lotion Moist.
Have you considered using a hydrating toner instead of a lotion/cream? I suggest this one: https://www.amazon.com/Moisture-Lotion-Toner-Kikumasamune-Women/dp/B00ECQCVK0/
Hey there, is this —> https://www.amazon.com/Moisture-Lotion-Toner-Kikumasamune-Women/dp/B00ECQCVK0/ref=asc_df_B00ECQCVK0/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312003160299&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=2004336764327556531&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt... <— the same Kikumasamune product you have listed to decant? Just curious.
Also, do you use this product regularly and if so — what are your opinions? It seems like a low-entry-point price to purchase the full size if it is indeed a great product, and I’m looking for decently priced, Holy Grail status skincare product to fall in love with and add to my routine. I notice there’s also a “white bottle” version which includes ceramides but lacks some of the moisturizing properties of the pink bottle version; I was wondering if you’ve happened to have tried both and what your thoughts were? I know this was lengthy, thanks if you get around to responding, it’s much appreciated!
After every shower, apply a hydrating toner (I suggest Kikumasamune in the pink bottle) and 10% urea cream (any brand will do the job, but I personally recommend Eucerin). I recommend reading this post to learn about the benefits of urea.
My suggestion probably won't cure your problem, but I think it will help. I'm sorry this is happening to you, and I hope you find a solution soon.
Check out r/SkincareAddiction. Look at the About pages for links on how to resolve most skin issues. I’ve been using this and it works wonders without drying my skin.
Just like u/LikesGreenTea does, I use kiku lotion right after the shower while the skin is still damp, then right after I follow up with Eucerin lotion, it has Urea in it. Once a week, I use a lotion with Glycolic Acid, I like The Alpha Skincare 12% Glycolic Acid Lotion, then follow up with a mixture of Jojoba Oil and Argan Oil that I put in a spray bottle. It doesn’t have to be that exact mixture, but I found the oils are much soothing on the day I use the Glycolic Acid lotion.
I liked this one much better than the Cerave cream. Compare the ingredients in both. It worked in just a few days to get rid of a rash, so I just use it to soften my feet now. They sell it at WalMart and Target also!
