3M and other companies make rubber eraser wheels that go in a drill and will take off pinstripes, decals, and other types of stickers fairly easily and won't damage the paint underneath.
I've used them before plenty of times and they are worth every penny - and they don't cost a lot of pennies, either.
Something like this, for example: https://www.amazon.com/Whizzy-Wheel-Sticker-Remover-Adapter/dp/B00FJF0O2K/ref=sr\_1\_6?crid=3SBRE2129V2Q6&dchild=1&keywords=rubber+eraser+wheel&qid=1622762616&sprefix=rubber+eraser%2Caps%2C197&sr=8-6
It’s this device, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0752P57ZG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_Hyk1BbSPGZBWT and it uses the eWeLink app to configure.
I want to be able to, for example, grant access to my in-laws so they can let themselves in, but without having them signed in to my Alexa account.
This is more of an Alexa or IFTTT question, as this same question could apply to my Lutron controllers, ecobee, etc...
I realize it is not proper to recommend someone purchase a solution to their problem but everything I read about Chamberlain’s solution was expensive (depending your opener) and/or problematic.
So I purchased this Meross HomeKit solution and it has been trouble free. The only issue I had was during the first week before a firmware update when the status was not accurate (showing open when closed). After the update I have not experienced one issue. Additionally when my garage door was inoperable (failed tension cable) it correctly showed the status as “obstructed”.
Please understand the Meross solution isn’t as “clean” because Chamberlain has introduced some method of authentication (encryption) between the wired (not wireless, wired) internal switch and the actual opener. To overcome this Meross will send you a replacement wireless opener that will connect to the device and activate the garage when you interact with it using HomeKit.
meross Smart Garage Door Opener... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B084Z5QZR2?
A $16 WiFi switch module worked for me and is pretty handy when I'm in the work shop and not near the opener button.
Ive never used a smart device to power stuff but was thinking.. huh, I'd just use a relay block. Then searched for one on amazon and it does exactly what OP wants for $13.
I use MEROSS smart garage door switch on my 70's craftsman opener and it works great. Got it from Amazon. I also got great customer service from them as well.
I have heard a rubber wheel like these works well.
Because of this I decided to install the meross HomeKit controller because MyQ is ass.

I use the Linear GoControl controller. It's Z-Wave Plus. It's not a garage door opener itself, just the controller - you just wire it up to the terminals in the opener that the open/close button in your garage is connected to.

Meross HomeKit garage door opener (MSG100) 15% off ($42.49) on Amazon. I also had an additional 10% coupon pop up when I was adding it to my cart so I got it at $38.24 before taxes.
Along those lines, something like this to allow you to open/close the garage door from your phone:

Very nice to then be able to know if you forgot to close it after leaving.
Super-happy with my Nest × Yale locks -- you could go that route for a lock and fit right in with the Nest ecosystem (did the same myself after picking up a thermostat).
When I went to expand to include smart switches, garage, and bulbs, I went with Hubitat and Z-Wave devices. Have been really happy with the hub, and sensors are pretty widely available. If you go Hubitat, it'd be worth checking out Inovelli for switches (maybe a better plan than smart bulbs except for where you need colour).
I'd advise against the MyQ garage door. I picked it up early on, but realized later that I could keep my garage door off of the cloud, integrate better with the Z-Wave network, and improve reliability by installing a relay and sensor instead. I used this and this.

Acetone can also be used and bar keepers friend is also a great cleaner on fiberglass
I spent some time researching this, and ended up getting a z-wave garage door opener off Amazon (this one). It works well, communicates over Z-wave and reaches through several walls to my Z-Wave light switches to join the Z-Wave mesh my SmartThings hub communicates with - With that said, I found out rather quickly afterward that Amazon purposely prevents Alexa from working with any type of smart door/locking mechanism, which made me sadface. I could probably still get it to work through Smart Things custom scripting editor, but honestly I'm fine just doing it through the ST app.
Is the garage close enough to connect to your home WiFi?
The Chamberlain MyQ system is just a $30 module that works well, but it does need WiFi to work. Takes about 10 minutes to install.

One of these will save you hours. Used one on my truck and it did wonders.

MyQ is great. You can even setup automation with something like samsung smartthings hub to send alerts to your phone when garage open.

There is a garage opener kit from Meross. It enables HomeKit for almost any standard garage opener. Most garage openers have a wall switch for opening/closing and the Meross uses this to control the garage opener. Additionally there is a door sensor for measuring the current state of the garage. Amazon Link You can also build something yourself with a Shelly, a relay, a switch and a reed sensor.

Disagree, respectfully. I have Orbi. I have 50+ HomeKit devices and have been using and growing these devices for over 5 years. Multiple different WiFi setups. The only Homekit supported hardware I've ever had ANY issues with (to the point I couldn't trust it and had to throw it out) other than the MyQ hardware.
I use this. Works with Alexa and my iPhone. Easy to install..

And love it. Works very well with HA.
Hi Mike! There used to be a 3rd-party device handler for Chamberlain MyQ openers, but it seems that it has been discontinued: https://community.smartthings.com/t/discontinuation-of-myq-connect-community-smartapp/47183
Another option is to use the GoControl unit that connects to your existing garage door opener: https://smile.amazon.com/GoControl-Linear-GD00Z-4-Z-Wave-Controller/dp/B00M75TEIU. It has native integration with ST as well as options for third party device handlers that extend the functionality. The price on Amazon is a bit high right now, but I've seen it around $65 in the past. If you're not in any hurry, use camelcamelcamel.com to track the Amazon price and notify you when it decreases or hits a target price you configure.
I can't help much with the camera portion of your question, but I'm interested to see what others have to say as well. This is something I'm still deciding on also.
For anybody else with this issue, get one of these bad boys. It's pretty cheap and it works really well with almost every garage door opener! Probably one of the best smart home pieces I have ever bought!
Amazon has not allowed Alexa to open/close doors or to unlock doors due to safety and security concerns. There are some workarounds out there.
I use the linear zwave garage door opener: https://amazon.com/GoControl-Linear-GD00Z-4-Z-Wave-Controller/dp/B00M75TEIU
There is a custom device handler made for it on SmartThings that allows you to open and close it with alexa. However, I have tell alexa to turn it on (open) or off (close). It does not support Alexa telling me the status of the door. I still have to use the Smartthings app for that.
Infrequent use guest bathroom would be fine and it would last for a long time with an infrequent use bathroom.
In this case I would have no problem painting the tile and you have nothing to lose if you are considering replacing the tile anyways. I have had some success with the below product. Prep work and cleaning the tile is the key to a really good job.

Great job. To go with your new garage door I recommend this product. Not so much for the Amazon in-garage delivery or the ability to remote control your garage door but for the fact that you can set the timer to automatically close the garage door. Especially with your detached garage if you leave open, at whatever time of night you like it'll automatically close it. Condolences on the death of your pet. Our 18 year old cat went last week as well.

>Buying a MyQ opener and using it off wifi is free forever using their own app.
That's just a garage door opener. The MyQ part is the added connectivity feature, which you cannot use on your local network without the cloud.
My Q also (and originally) comes in a stand-alone device that you connect to your third party garage door opener so that you can use the app. That becomes a paperweight once if they kill their api.
>It's the 3rd party integrations that they charge for, which seems pretty reasonable to me.
> for people that was a more premium/special setup like using their car, they charge a bit.
I would also find it reasonable if it was reasonably priced. It's not reasonably priced at all. They aren't charging a bit, they are charging more than twice the cost of the unit itself every year (https://www.amazon.com/Smart-Garage-Opener-Chamberlain-myQ-G0401/dp/B08GD3D9YJ/ref=sr\_1\_2?keywords=my+q&qid=1671434359&sr=8-2)

As other's have said, see how you're supposed to hook up an external thermostat for your stove. For my Harman Accentra insert you cut one wire of the extern temp sensor and the thermostat makes or breaks that connection. When it's open (broken) the stove goes into standby and then shuts down until the connection is made again. I got one of these:

I use a plugin for homebridge (I forget which one, I'll check when I'm at home) to expose it to HomeKit for automation.
