Wiresless triggers are like $10 a piece, if your $60 speed light doesn't already have a wireless receiver.
I still agree with you though. The average joe isn't assembling all of these components to shoot bouncy balls in a trashcan.
I've been using a couple of their generic flashes (the YN560) for years. I sold my Nikon Speedlights to pay rent back when things weren't so good, and bought a couple of these, along with a couple of the Aputure trigmasters, to fill in the gap.
That was ~6 years ago. And, while they don't see daily use, there's always at least one of each in my camera bag, and they're still going strong. I highly doubt I'll ever go back to a Nikon one. Only gripe? No TTL. But, TBF, I never use that shit anyway.
Long and short of it is that, should I ever need to replace my 50 1.4, I'll be looking at this one, for sure.
OKAY IT HAS BEEN A MISSSSSIOM trying to get the right quality.
I use a ring light: Neewer Ring Light Kit:18"/48cm Outer 55W 5500K Dimmable LED Ring Light, Light Stand, Carrying Bag for Camera,Smartphone,YouTube,TikTok,Self-Portrait Shooting, Black, Model:10088612 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LXDNNBW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_8849NKWCH04MQHVXVKY4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Then a soft box behind me to the side to give stuff dempth!
I then use an AP called SODA. I turn off all the face/make up filters and just use skin smooth slightlyyyy. Everything else gets turned off.
Then I use a color filter on there called HUJI. It adds a little grain and a nice preset I love!!
And I always make sure to wipe my phone camera off and do content in daylight!!
Do you think this would be sufficient for dick pics. I'm not trying to have wrinkles show up in after hours posts.
I found this ring light in one of the bars lol I know my friend uses a ring light from amazon! I think it’s this one Neewer Ring Light Kit:18"/48cm Outer 55W 5500K Dimmable LED Ring Light, Light Stand, Carrying Bag for Camera,Smartphone,YouTube,Self-Portrait Shooting https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LXDNNBW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_rN25Bb9MHQHRC if I’m not mistaken and I’ve used it to take a few or my photos on Instagram and it’s bomb
I have two Yongnuo 568 EX II flashes, and they are quite good, and inexpensive. This model has TTL metering, which you might want, though if you can live without TTL you can get a cheaper model probably. Amazon Link
I also got a tripod + umbrella setup to use with this flash, which I recommend for studio work; this kind of setup is pretty cheap on amazon as well. You can use flash slave mode, by using your on-camera flash at 1/128th, though you may have to get a remote and receiver pair for better results.
If you have a bunch of leftover Christmas lights you could use those - you would get some great bokeh in the background and add dimension. This picture as an example: (http://editorial.designtaxi.com/editorial-images/news-BrandonWoelfel110717/2-Watch-how-to-shoot-edit-popular-instagram-photographer-BrandonWoelfel.png)
Amazon carries this flash for $60 https://www.amazon.com/YN560-IV-Wireless-Speedlite-Panasonic/dp/B00PGTOX26/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1507316669&sr=8-1&keywords=yongnuo+flash Its decent and admittedly I have almost 0 experience with speedlites even though I own this one, but there are plenty of reviews that say it's great! I just haven't had the opportunity to mess with mine that much
What is you ISO range? If your camera's ISO goes high enough you could potentially not have to use a flash at all, at the expense of your images looking grainy though.
End of the day, Youtube! I like SLR lounge, they have really great, comprehensive tutorials. I would just punch in your scenario into youtube and see what comes back. I'm sure someone somewhere has made a tutorial that will help you out.
Good Luck!!
the amazon basics flash for silly cheap on camera to trigger is an option... for $£ 25 ish or less usually https://www.amazon.co.uk/AmazonBasics-Electronic-Flash-DSLR-Cameras/dp/B01I09WHLW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1509584723&sr=8-1&keywords=amazon+basics+flash
you chose two flashes that came with wireless triggers. is that something you wanted, or did you just happen to come across those bundles?
If so, either of those should be fine. If not, you can get a cheap amazonbasics flash and buy triggers later.
This kit any good? https://www.amazon.com/Altura-Photo-Professional-Flash-NIKON/dp/B00H84WRK2/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1513057099&sr=8-5&keywords=altura+flash
Got a d3300 about two months ago and am looking for a cheap off camera flash. Gonna buy an umbrella and stuff too (probably off of Amazon). Would I be better off just saving up and getting the Strobist kit from the Lighting 101 series? It's significantly more expensive (remote trigger is 50 bucks alone somehow..).
Consider trying this Wonderfull manual flash from amazon basic: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Electronic-Flash-Cameras-Canon/dp/B01I09WHLW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1519971690&sr=8-1&keywords=amazon+basic+flash+for+dslr
The Yongnuo is very good flash but only in manual. It is not consistent in the ETTL mode. So why pay the extra for ETTL.
One advantage of the some of the Yongnuo models is they have the radio cont rol for off camera flash trigger.
The amazon basics flash for everything:
When it comes to macro, depth of field is a major challenge, because it's razor thin at those distances. You can increase the depth of field by using smaller apertures, but the smaller you go the less sharp the image will be (due to refraction). I'd just try different apertures, because you may still find it acceptably sharp. Another way to improve how much appears in focus is to use focus stacking, a post processing technique using multiple images focused at different points, but it can be challenging. One easy tip, since the plane of focus is perpendicular to your camera, shooting straight on will utilize the entire plane of focus.
As far as lighting, as HelplessCorgis said, outdoors can be challenging because the slightest movement can throw things off. If it's bright enough to use a very fast shutter speed, you may be okay. If you're indoors, and the table and tripod are stable, you can even use longer shutter speeds to get the exposure you want.
Ultimately flash is always better for still photography than constant lights, due to efficiency and light output. Even a $28 Amazon Basics manual speelight will do a decent job! Then you'd want a cheap flash cord so you can move the light around (just make sure to get the right one for your camera brand).
Honestly, I'm learning a frigging TON with this $30 Amazon Basics flash. I could use just a little more power to overcome full daylight every once in a while but they're really useful to learn manual flash techniques. The Yongnuo and Godex upgrades are supposed to be very good alternatives to the expensive Canon versions. Virtually indistinguishable clones.
I paired my flash with a set of $30 Altura radio tigers that are fantastic and fun for off camera triggering.
Maybe add a $10 pack of gels and two cheap strobes and you'll seriously be set for a long time for a hundred bucks flat. It's not necessarily the only Andre but I am stoked with this setup and it's taken my photography game a lot further.
There's an incredible Lynda.com course on the basics of manual flash photography, and then read Strobist.com.
Thanks! I bought this one https://www.amazon.com/Neewer-Ring-Light-Kit-Self-Portrait/dp/B01LXDNNBW
I imagine it’s still cheap by professional standards, but it was one of the more expensive ones on Amazon. What do you think about this one?
Get some sexy lingerie, there's led light rings with tripod stands that hold your phone (https://www.amazon.com/Tripod-YouTube-Makeup-Desktop-Brightness/dp/B07JX79GBS), use the led light ring with your phone facing you lights on and for an example record you fucking yourself with a dildo.
It’s looks to me like it’s one of those ring lights that photographers and bloggers use.
this ring light has been a total game changer for me! I had a cheaper one before, and this one has upped my quality significantly! Also it’s great quality and aluminum, where as my other one was cheap and plastic and had pieces breaking off.
Holy moly, that's a tight budget! If that's the case, then I'd recommend a really cheap chinese flash, something similar to this: https://www.amazon.ca/Neewer-Speedlite-Panasonic-Fujifilm-single-contact/dp/B004LEAYXY/ref=sr_1_37?crid=2NUL3RTJNRMRN&keywords=neewer+flash+lights&qid=1643930527&sprefix=neewer+flash+lights%2Caps%2C104&sr=8-37
You'll also need to find an on-camera remote for the flash, and that'll pretty much take up your whole $100 budget. That being said, you'll still need diffusion material, bounce cards, backgrounds and stuff to rig everything up. My best suggestion is a few rolls of gaff tape and a lot of elbow grease, because it doesn't sound like you have enough money for light stands and stuff.
Definitely not the end of the world though, when I first started I was on a crazy tight budget too. Don't let that discourage you.
I do like the flippable screen option a lot. Is the Dx00 the only ones that do that? If so i think i'll just go with that one. Will all my current lenses still work with that one also?
i forgot to mention i also have a big flash for my old camera, is that technology out dated or anything? it was cheap so not a big deal.. (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004LEAYXY/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_search\_asin\_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
I have no experience with this, but ring lights such as these are pretty popular for streamers etc. Perhaps that would work for you?
I’ve had soft boxes and 3 different ring lights and nothing has come close to this guy:
Neewer Ring Light Kit:18"/48cm... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LXDNNBW?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
It’s big and bright and super worth the price IMO!
Anyone here into streaming or photography? Would like some advice on lighting. I'm looking at this Neewer Ring Light or the typical 2 Elgato Key Lights on the left and right side. *Or perhaps softboxes? I'm not really understanding the differences in lighting lingo.
I'm not a streamer, but I'd like to properly light up my setup for video calls/remote interviews. I was wondering if 1 point of light is enough or I need 2, in the case of the Key Lights. Also, I chose the more expensive products because I might stream for fun and I want to minimize upgrading the main lighting

I have an Neewer 750II TTL Flash Speedlite (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GE4MNQA/)
I want to buy a trigger for slave mode and I'm confused about which to buy. Godox compatible? or which? I'm confused S1 and S2.
Sorry, my message probably confusing. I had a stroke.

Amazon sells these self/selfie/make up lights that have different hues of light and they project very far and very well https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LXDNNBW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_H1WXTK36YT20Z7XCBJBB
I get pretty good light so I actually don't use it too much. It's more of an enhancement.
They make bigger ones!
