I got a heated cat bed off Amazon that only heats up when they lay down on it. My cats love it! If you got one, he could turn the heat on without your help!
Idk if this is allowed buuuut: bed
If you want something else that your cat will love, get a heated cat mat. There are now 4 of those in my house for my 3 cats and they're pretty much on them 80% of the day.
Didn't notice this before, but this seller is a real tool.
Check out his return policy on his rug:
"For sanitary reasons we cannot except a used return. Every buyer deserves a first time use, scent-free, brand new experience. We hope you can appreciate our dedication to the safety of your pet. If you return a used product we will NOT grant a refund. Abuse the Amazon return policy will not be tolerated. If our 'Always New, Always Sanitary' policy offends you; do not buy our products."
Dude, you sell on Amazon. If you don't like their return policy, tough luck. Sell somewhere else.
You can't make up your own return policies. Good luck on the barrage of A-Z claims that will eventually get you suspended.
Get them a cat heating pad or two. We have several scattered around the house and they are cat magnets. https://www.amazon.com/Pet-Products-Thermo-Kitty-Heated-Mocha/dp/B000S9M2U4/
Do not use a heating pad designed for humans, they can get too hot.
Adorable, she also like the heat. You should get her one of this, on Amazon 'K&H Thermo-Kitty Fashion Splash Heated Cat Mat' https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00403MXBM/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Not sure if this would be helpful. Amazon sells low wattage outdoor pet safe heating pads. 4-22 watts. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001AZSR68/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_9SV2Db1T201DH
There is also a temperature sensitive adapter you can buy to use even less electricity. It only turns on below 50. HEATIT ET-21 Freeze Thermostatically Controlled Outlet On at 38F /Off at 50F https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074HVYDV1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_MWV2DbREZCHBN
I’ve never looked for them in store, so I’m not entirely sure, but these are the ones I have!
Cat Repellent Outdoor Scat Mat: Pet Deterrent Mats for Cats, Dogs, Pests - Indoor / Outdoor Repellent www.amazon.com/dp/B07H8PFH18/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_FYGX9X68TEBTDHPXYGTQ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
If you’re looking for something in stores, you can check to see if they have similar products that go by “garden spike mat” or “bird spike mat”, used to keep outdoor wildlife away from crops and gardens. They’re essentially the same thing!
One option you could try: Ley's Scat Mat for Cats, Cat Deterrent Mat with Spikes (I have a different brand but it’s the same thing.)
I love cats but sometimes they try to go places where they shouldn’t be. These are plastic spikes that are uncomfortable to walk on, but they won’t actually hurt the cat. Obviously the usefulness depends on the exact cat and the placement (motivated cats can jump past a narrow “mote” made from these), and it could be cost-prohibitive depending on your garden size and shape, but I figured it might be worth mentioning just in case it could be useful.
I just got the heated pad from Amazon. Pet specific and put it in her existing bed under the bedding. K&H PET PRODUCTS Pet Bed Warmer... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001AZSR68?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Put a pressure activated heating pad where you want the kitty to sleep.
Here is one (I don't own it, this is just what came up when I googled) https://www.amazon.com/Pet-Products-Thermo-Kitty-Heated-Mocha/dp/B000S9M2U4
https://www.amazon.com/Pet-Products-Thermo-Kitty-Heated-Mocha/dp/B000S9M2U4
Be careful. Exposed heating elements can be dangerous. You might considering getting him a kitty heating pad. Mine has a heated window shelf and he's pretty much on it 24/7.
put a heating pad from one of those heated cat beds on top and occasionally pet him/her (as if you could resist anyway) and your kitty will love the spot almost as much as before!
example heat pad i haven't tried and therefore not a recommendation like at all... pls don't buy crap...:

This is the one I have! My cats LOVE it. The bed itself is not that great, but my spoiled lil furballs love to be warm.
PS: I use amazon smile to donate to a charity, and so the link looks weird...but I couldn't figure out how to give you the regular link. I think it should go away when you open it. Either way, not an affiliate link. I promise! I am just failing at being tech savvy right now.
I would get some type of heated bed. We have a flat bed like this and a cup-shaped bed like this
Our cats switch between the beds.
I have this dog bed heater. It doesn't get too hot, and it will get warmer when the dog actually lies down on the bed. I love it so far.
I use a dog bed from Costco.
if you find a cat jumping up on the screen top, this is a good deterrent https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TBST91J/?coliid=I32ZVFV7SY2ZA4&colid=1PXR5JIOABBJK&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it
My mom swears by these cat heating pads: https://www.amazon.com/Pet-Products-Thermo-Kitty-Heated-Mocha/dp/B000S9M2U4 You leave it plugged in - they don’t get hot, but warm. Obvi check with your vet before using. One of our kitties spent most winters on it in his later years (20+).
We got this cat carpet play area thing in 2020.

It's a bit flatter than the pics make it out to be, but it is the A#1 toy for our youngest cat. He practically lives on it when we're in the room. It sits in the living room and he spends time on it every night. Batting around, digging in the holes, etc. When we walk by. we stick a toe through one of the holes and he goes nuts batting at it.
Our other cat ignores it completely.
So I think the need to rotate is on a per cat basis. When they stop using it often, switch things up, but if they are active, leave it where it is.
This heated pads isn't much to look at, but it's been irresistible to my cats.
I wish I knew. I ordered these today in hopes it will stop my girl walking on my APAP machine and turning it off. Cat do what they want and are cute while they do it.

Look into pressure activated heating pads for pets. They aren’t too expensive, and they only turn on when a cat sits on, and turns off when they leave. This is the one I have, but there are a few brands out there.

This. I have a 6 watt K&H Thermo-Kitty Mat (Amazon link below) at the window next to my computer. Outside the window I put a bird feeder, which helps keep my kitty entertained. Besides the birds, she loves keeping an eye on several neighborhood stray cats. I have platforms at two other windows looking out the house in two other directions, but she spends most of her time on the thermo-mat at the window next to me. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000S9M2V8
Not necessary... but this fall, I added a K&H heated birdbath just outside the window to help keep the birds happy. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FB7R479
I have 3 of these for my two cats.
I brought the first one maybe 4 years ago when one of my cats had a UTI and I wanted to do something to make her more comfortable. Just plugged it in and tossed it into a regular cat bed I already had. Then I noticed my cats fighting over that bed/cramming themselves into it even though it wasn't by the window.
So I did what any ridiculous pet owner would do & bought two more to put in the cat tree by the window so they each have a heated perch alongside a cozy dark bed option.
I now buy these as "new cat gifts" for my friends whenever one of them gets a new kitty.
I am not paid by them. Other brands might work just as well. But I've been happy with these for years now, so I wanted to share about the good investment.
Now we live in a house with a heated bathroom floor so of course they've taken to sleeping on the bathmats in there at night so I can trip over them first thing in the morning. But otherwise, they usually sit in the heated beds unless they're sitting on me.
Get some of those plastic spikes and cut them to size to fit the top of your https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H8PFH18/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_GRX2G3E01604JRSZ3EBQ
And while you’re at it get a 120mm usb fan and put that on top to keep your xbox nice and chilly.
I recommend you get Rico one of these Snuggly Cat Ripple Rugs. We have five cats and got one of these Ripple Rugs for them a few months ago. All five cats love it. Check it out: SnugglyCat The Ripple Rug - Cat Activity Play Mat - Made in USA - Insulated Base Keeps Kitty Warm - Fun Interactive Play - Training - Scratching - Bed Mat https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016H3T8EC/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_5REXM1B8YDSX7EWHCTFP?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I'm sorry he's not feeling well, I hope he's better soon!
And he may need a heating pad for Christmas. We have two, made by K&H, our cats love them. The one on their window perch is their favorite.
