Consider getting a wireless charger.
I have a couple of these around the house and they work great. I toss one in my bag while traveling and use the stand unplugged on a plane tray table for watching movies.
Cheap and easy.
I got it on Amazon! Here is the link but it's kinda expensive. $65 for a wireless charger. Lol I only got it because it was my Girlfriend's birthday and she was the one who introduced me to botw! Link (lol)
I have a standing Qi charger (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0753Z4PGC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_AGZtCbHV2MCEK) that I keep my phone on. I just look at the phone and it unlocks the notifications. Added benefit of always being charged. Also, I leave it on this thing 6hours+ a day and my battery is still very healthy according to the battery health app thing. So I wouldn't worry about the scare online about wireless charging being bad for the battery.
So far the mophie or the Belkin wireless charger is certified or recommended (thus, the higher pricing?) .
But the other Qi wireless charger are so far so good.
This is the one I’m using and it’s great so far. iPhone X Wireless Charger, Seneo Standard Qi Wireless Charger(No AC Adapter) for iPhone X 8 8 Plus, Fast Wireless Charger Pad Stand for Samsung Galaxy Note 8/5 S8/S8 Plus S7/S7 Edge S6 Edge Plus
EDIT: I used to get the flat wireless charging but changed over to the stand like the one in the link, cause it allows me to charge and use my phone, at the same unlocking via Face ID.
if you want it to lock in place you can always attach a third party magsafe compatible magnetic ring like this one.
https://www.amazon.com/ESR-HaloLock-Universal-Conversion-Compatible/dp/B08S6XQFDM
I do not have these issues with my wireless charging. I bought a Chinese charging stand off Amazon for $19 and it works perfect. I don't have to move it around to get it to start charging. I can use it in portrait or landscape mode. It doesn't get hot either.
I've had it since I had the S7. I'll admit that I rarely have to use it with the S8 Plus. I take it off my charger at home at 8am and by 6pm I'm still at 70%. I only have to use it if I spend a lot of time in the basement here at work where I don't get a strong cell signal and that drains the battery super quick, even with wifi calling.
Just get a decently reviewed Wireless charger from Amazon like the one mentioned here. I've had a Seneo almost identical this one and it's over 3 years old and still working fine.

Note: The twitter link leads to an Amazon affiliate link, which is likely against the subform rules.
The direct link, if anyone cares, is https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DBXZZN3/
> I think I paid quite a bit of money for it though
I hope not! They're $29 on Amazon :D
The new 2018 Model is pretty nice too might have to order one. Looks fancier.
Love the dual screen too. :)
If you need a good car Qi charger, this is a great device:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08HCN5M33/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
If you use the headphone jack, you can open it and reverse the side plates, but this lets you open the screen up and charge it while you drive letting you see it.
ah, that makes sense. thats way nicer than https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Wireless-Charging-Charger-Warranty/dp/B01BMDQ9U8/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1503520741&sr=8-3&keywords=samsung+fast+charger+wireless
but the one you linked is only $50 on amazon :|
I have also been wondering this. Currently on my note 3 I use the Spigen magnetic mount and enjoy not having to fight with a mount.
Now I have my note 8 I'm looking forward to using wireless and I know that the magnetic plate will interfere with the charge process. I came across this iOttie however it doesn't support fast charge and its £65 from amazon which is a lot more than I'd be willing to pay. I discovered they have this model coming soon, I think we are both looking for a similar solution. The only other thing that slightly annoys me is that they both use micro USB rather than type C.
I purchased an idiot-proof one with a "ledge" from Amazon, so no placement issues. (Although as of now, there seem to be a LOT more chargers like this so mine is no longer unique.)
Great for plugging in your phone and immediately passing out!
I also snagged mine at $49 during the Best Buy sale shortly after its release and I don't regret it, BUT --
The software experience it offers was terrible, to the point where I specifically disabled the Pixel Stand app on the phone, and now I just use it as a regular old wireless charging stand, and it's fine for that purpose.
Weirdly I can't find the Pixel Stand app on my device anymore, and it's not in the Play Store either. They must've integrated it into the OS somehow but I wouldn't know how to reactivate it even if I wanted to...
EDIT: Looks like there are much cheaper options available now if all you're looking for is a basic stand: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DBXZZN3/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_i_AvTFEb06AGV4Q
GAZE Wide H Wireless Car Charger for Galaxy Z Fold 3, iPhone 13 Pro Max, Landscape Smartphone Mount, 15W Qi Fast Charging, Dashboard Air Vent Mount Compatible with Samsung S21/ Note 20 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08HCN5M33/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_4676GT3EJ7WSH0MW1QSE?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
You will also need a good cig 12v plug that supports fast charging.
RegisBox Magic Circle Wireless Charger Magic Array Phone Charger Cool Wireless Charging Pad https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RPH7VD8/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_7NM0MAJRTYM6R698K1JB
Looks like Amazon had it at one point, might find it somewhere on the web then
I can vouch for the Anker one. And this one is only $12 and is pretty grippy so I don't think it or the phone would slide around
>... but what if your listening to music and your phones about too die...
Wireless charging is a thing.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PJZHY9V?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I had the Tozo one and it wasn't working right. I replaced mine with these (the stand up one for my desk, the flat one for the night stand). Both work great.
I have this Anker charger and its slow as fuck. Any recs?
https://smile.amazon.com/Anker-Wireless-PowerWave-Upgraded-Fast-Charging/dp/B07THHQMHM
Go to Amazon and search for "wireless charger note 5".
Pretty much any of them will work. It just depends on how much you are willing to pay. If you can afford it, I would buy one of the wireless fast chargers such as this one.
I'm using a Seneo that was bought from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01H76NIAS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
$20.00. I have 2 at home (the wife uses one) and one at work. I've had no problems.
$41.90 for (1) unit on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Wireless-Charging-Charger-Warranty/dp/B01BMDQ9U8
Groupon had a 2 pack option but it seems to have been removed.
Groupon now has (1) single unit for $27.99: https://www.groupon.com/deals/gg-samsung-fast-charge-wireless-charging-stand-1
Personally I would rather buy a new unit with a warranty than a "fell out of the container used unit" that is described as "This item contains heavy signs of use which may include scratches, blemishes and dents." and no warranty.
If it’s a wired fast charge you will get another beep after you plug your phone in
In terms of wireless you will not have an audio notification
I use the following wireless option - the Yootech wireless charger from Amazon with a Samsung fast charger - I have 3 of the same set ups - bedroom, downstairs in the family room and at work.
Wireless Charger, Yootech 7.5W Wireless Charger for iPhone X/8/8 Plus,10W Fast Wireless Charging for Samsung Galaxy S9/S9 Plus/Note 8/ S8/S8 Plus, 5W for All Qi-enabled Phones (No AC Adapter) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079KZ49PJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_nTudBbAS9FMSC
Setup is less than 20 bucks and works flawlessly
If you tag Yootech on Twitter - they will normally send you a free gift
I recommend getting this setup and if you want a wireless charger for next to your bed or something I would pickup a cheap wireless charger off amazon. I have this one from anker it’s only 20$
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0753Z4PGC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_osJ7Bb5F20C7B
overall though I find having a fast charger is 10x more helpful than having a wireless charger
I didn't know they existed... I've been using a couple of braided USB-C cables from Amazon and an Anker wireless charger - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DBXZZN3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. We love the wireless charger!
it is on amazon in canada: Zelda Wireless Charger Sheikah Slate Phone Charger Magic Circle Charger 10W Fast Charging by RegisBox https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07RPH7VD8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_adngDbGYKSSJW
I have an Anker powerwave stand charger. The camera bump barely touches the top of the stand and does not interfere with charging.
https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Qi-Certified-Compatible-Fast-Charging-PowerWave/dp/B07DBXZZN3/
I ran into the exact same problem last year while I was traveling for work.
Ended up getting a cheap wireless charging pad as the solution.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079KZ49PJ/
You might be able to get it charged while the phone is turned off. That was the only thing that worked for short durations until I got the wireless charging pad.
Anker Wireless Charger and Anker Dual Port 24w Charger
I use this overnight because the wireless charger can only push 5w to the iPhone X. If I plug it in using a Lightning cable then I get the full 15w and my iPhone charges in 3 hours. I don't want to use high speed charging because I feel it hurts the battery.
I've used a bunch of the no-name Chinese wireless chargers and they either failed after a few months or they had a very small sweet spot when induction charging started.
