Motorola Edge could be a good option
Sorry about the shopping link. Grabbed it from a website.
Have you looked at the V60? Normally you can get deals on it on Verizon saving some money.
Should check all the boxes you are looking to fill at a reasonable price
Also there is the Motorola Edge, looks like it can be found on Amazon for 500 on preorder.

>I have an outdated android
Here I was thinking my S10+ was outdated. I suppose it's only 3-4 years old.
fyi I bought mine refurbished from amazon and it's worked great, they're pretty cheap at $200 and mine has already lasted me over a year and still going strong
I know Amazon isn't great, but that tends to be where I buy my unlocked phones from.
I'm currently using a Motorola Edge (regular, not plus). It was a little over $500 when I purchased it, but it looks like it's about $400 on Amazon now: Motorola edge | Unlocked | Made for US by Motorola | 6/256GB | 64MP Camera | 2020 | Solor Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08B9SGGRS/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_K7SSASN18EF8SXG147XV?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Fantastic back camera (I don't use front facing camera, so I can't speak to that). Headphone jack. SD card (I have a 1TB card in mine). No wireless charging so I can't speak to that. No complaints about performance (I mostly use my phone for social, social media, and Internet). It can play games just fine, on the rare occasion I've played games on the phone.
The only things I dislike: no wireless charging (minor inconvenience), and the edge part of the phone took some getting used to. I purchased this phone a year ago, and it's still going strong. I'd ideally like to get up to 5 years out of this phone, so we'll see. I think this phone can do 5G? I'm with Verizon and they want to charge extra if I turn 5G on, so I haven't bothered.
The Motorola G100, Edge, Edge 20 Pro, and Razr 5G can all be considered upgrades to the 5G Ace, if you want to stick with the Motorola Line.
$399 for the Edge https://www.amazon.com/Motorola-Unlocked-256GB-Camera-Solor/dp/B08B9SGGRS
At $399 I might start looking at other phones as well.
>Is the pixel 5 worth the extra 200 dollars?
If those features are really important, then yes. It also has more ram than 4a 5G and 90hz screen.
Pixel 4 is around ~$500 new and it's a similar size to Pixel 5. It's water resistant and faster than 5 but lacks a fingerprint scanner (it has advanced face unlock) and battery life is mediocre.
Galaxy S21 is a another alternative, though it's currently $799 without a carrier deal (it's often on sale for $699 unlocked).
Donate $50 to https://thewaterproject.org/ and I'll send you my sightly used Bold N1 GSM Android phone
So... like this one? https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galaxy-Camera-Unlocked-International/dp/B082YG1L4B/
The problem is that it's International. I'd think that means it doesn't have a warranty. Given the nature of phones, I'd want a warranty (and might pay the $69 for that protection plan). I'd also rather not get a "renewed" phone because that means it previously had problems. Ones that could recur. I'd rather pay a little more for the peace of mind since I want this next phone to last me over two years.
I don't know what's the best course of action. I don't trust Samsung's repair center to actually fix malfunctioning phones given a prior experience (that was 5 years ago), but at the same time I don't want to pay more than $300 if I can avoid it. I'm also trying to ensure that the seller is trustworthy (I only trust third party sellers with a consistent enough review score).
Would an A31 be sufficient? There seems to be this, which has a seller warranty: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1558338-REG/samsung_sm_a315g_128_bk_a31_a315g_128gb_dual_sim.html
Thanks for the tip. Gonna keep researching! :)

If you have some spare money and don't care too much about having the best and greatest camera/performance/storage, you can get android phones for pretty cheap! On Amazon, the Moto G Fast is going for $150 (down from $200), and the Samsung Galaxy A21 is $250, and those are unlocked phones --- you might be able to get decent deals with your carrier if you go for a locked one.
For Reddit, I feel like the fact that I have more control over the subreddits I follow actually makes it worse. With Facebook, I get bored pretty fast and switch off. With Reddit, I can scroll for hours because I'm subscribed to things that interest me. I suppose I could reduce what I'm subscribed to, but... that almost feels like it defeats the purpose. And really, I feel like almost anything I'd subscribe to would have that effect on me.

Why would people buy a no name phone instead of Motorola? with better specs and price and actual warranty and support? even some water resistance.

There's an Amazon Prime version for $600 now that works on AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon (including Voice over LTE and Wifi Calling on all 3 networks): https://www.amazon.com/LG-V35-ThinQ-Unlocked-Exclusive/dp/B07D46BMYT/ref=sr_tr_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1531839920&sr=8-3&keywords=v35&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
Hey OP. Did you get the phone, it showed up at amazon. US version, model ending in U.

They have a bundle with fitness watch for same price though, weird.
My dad bought bold N1 from Amazon for $200 and he's really loving it so far: https://www.amazon.com/N1-6-4-AMOLED-Screen-Display-128GB/dp/B07VHXT1R3/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?keywords=bold+n1&qid=1574150295&sr=8-1
Reason I am recommending this phone and not something more popular like Mi 9t is because it has excellent reception in N/A and is actually quite fast. It has 4 gb of ram 128 gb storage USB type C and a micro SD card slot oh and a headphone jack too with a brilliant amoled screen (no notches) and motorized camera.
One of the top Amazon comments for Cubot x19 claims it doesn't have VoLTE support, so using it in the US after 2021 for voice calls may not be possible. Not the best source of info but I haven't seen any more info about that topic.
The Moto G6 international variant is missing some important LTE bands for every US carrier, so reception will not be good.
So, between the two, Cubot x19 gets my vote. Moto G Fast is a safer pick broadly compatible with all US networks, and although it may seem like a downgrade it's actually got a better chipset than either moto g6 or cubit x19 so it's not bad.
Swappa has some used phones under $150. Google Pixels and LG G/V series phones are priced better than others.

This safe and good? My phone needs an upgrade.
Price kind of fluctuates a lot, I'm not sure why they're $399 now when sometimes they are $350 - $370.

Maybe you want to wait till they get more stock and lower the price?
The seller I got mine from is named "Hybrid IT"
I dont remember if I chose the "GSM unlocked" or "fully unlocked" option
Samsung Galaxy A51 is not a bad option, not sure if the batter will suit you though.
I just saw this Motorola Edge that could be a good option with nice features.
Sorry for the short link. Didn't mean to copy it with.
The Samsung Galaxy S10e should be able to handle it okay. It uses last year's SoC so it's not too outdated. You can get one refurbished on Amazon for ~$420 unlocked, or you can get a new one from Samsung for $600. With the Samsung website, you can also choose to trade in an older phone, and they're running a promo for cracked-screen devices too.
You have Samsung Galaxy S10e Factory Unlocked Phone with 128GB, Prism White (Renewed) for $380 on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Factory-Unlocked-Warranty-Renewed/dp/B07PB3WV54 or the Galaxy S10 for $460
Enjoy the free world of android!
