Some of the newer cabinet locks don't require hardware to install. They use 3m adhesive, which comes off with no damage. Ask your landlord but its probably ok to use those.

Just get the magnet locking ones. Nothing to see on the front of the cabinets. Need the magnet key to unlock it through the door. Only babypoof thing that worked for my kids. Just don’t lose the magnet key...

Got it. Yeah - that just sucks from every single angle. Is there anyway you could get a smaller fridge for your vegan stuff and attach a lock to it? My husband lived in a boarding house for a short while and one of the guys had something like this. The owner flat out had a lock on a cabinet to keep his dry food safe.
That sounds extreme, but your food isn’t cheap, and it’s not like you can just grab any crap laying around.
Anyway, good luck hopefully finding a solution. Bugs in Florida heat are about the worst thing in the world!
I got them at home depot in the child safety aisle. I think they are made by safety first. Here they are on amazon Safety 1st Magnetic Locking System (1 Key and 8 Locks) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004GCJMLG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Wy6.DbJA07WMH
Another idea... there are a bunch of childproof locks you could probably use that would be a lot easier than moving a 50 pound chair everyday. Something like this or similar: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007A2ZSZ8
Edit: this one is self locking so you’d never forget to lock it in the first place: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SK5BRDL
We have one of these for our toddler...works great even on adults!

FYI - The pins that hold the latches in place eventually walk out. I put some tape over them and then make sure they stay in place every few weeks.
hahaha maybe you just need some childlocks! I bought these off of Amazon to keep my toddler out of our cleaning chemicals, and they work well!
I bought these from Amazon primarily to use on my toilet but I ended up putting them on some kitchen cabinets too because I didn't want to screw stuff into them. So far they seem to be doing ok. I haven't had them on for very long but they were fairly easy to install and use. Hopefully they remove easily. That I'm not sure about. Try “Stop.” And then “Dangerous” or something specific to what the risk is. Also fwiw power outlets aren’t very dangerous. Especially for just fingers. Unless we’re talking the breakers?
There are also some awesome locks you can put on the outside of things. We use some on cabinets and one on the oven, etc. we like either the sliders where one side is fixed and the other end reaches over and attaches, and you slide a little lever to pop it off. Or thesemunchkin lock that you pinch.
I am about to change your life. Baby proof cabinet locks.
I personally like these ones because you can’t see them from the outside and they’re easier to open. But maybe too easy to be cat-proof…
I don't have an stl but I have been using these door monkeys with great success for that exact problem. Probably wouldn't be difficult to design or find something similar on tinkercad
https://www.amazon.com/Lever-Child-Proof-Handles-Adhesive/dp/B07DKNNCH1 these actually probably wouldn’t destroy the door, if they’re anything like command strips, they’re designed to leave no trace. (Also if the door is painted it would be super easy to just touch up when you leave.) probably worth a try given other options are really unreasonable.
Unfortunately I’m not too familiar with them, but looks like amazon has a fairly cheap one that works for all sizes: https://www.amazon.com/Refrigerator-Door-Lock-Padlock-White/dp/B00722OIJI
Yeah it seems like she’s crazy wasteful, I’d suggest getting ready for a confrontation (before installing the fridge lock if you’re up to it, otherwise she’s likely to bring it up afterwards). She sounds like a huge mooch
u/justme620 I found this on Amazon, I think it's perfect for this problem! You have to squeeze the button and then swing the white posts sideways to be able to use the lever knob, there is no way the dog can do that! And it's less than $15!

This is something Jazz never really brings up, but if you read through r/narcolepsy or the Facebook support groups you'll see a TON of people with this problem.
> Like they're literally preventing me from giving into the Xywav drowsiness sometimes
It sounds like you might be waiting for Xywav to kick in before you go to sleep? I've found it really, really important to only take Xywav once I'm already in bed AND almost asleep. (I set an alarm for 30 minutes into the future in case I actually fall asleep before I can take it.)
If that doesn't help, try eating a small, fat-free snack before taking the Xywav. Yes, that might make the Xywav somewhat less effective, but that's a lot better than staying awake to eat afterwards and negating the whole dose. If this works for you, then gradually make the snack smaller and/or have it earlier in the evening until you find the right balance.
Also, if your living situation allows for it, look into refrigerator and pantry locks. If you live alone, consider locking up all of your food 2 hours before you take Xywav, and put the keys in a time delay safe that you can only open the next morning.
TL;DR:
It took me a while to figure all of this out, but I've come to realize that my routine and choices in the 3-4 hours before taking Xywav are the most critical component of my entire narcolepsy treatment plan.
Oh she would not like it. Lol
It's a door guard. Not illegal. Doesn't keep the door completely shut, but keeps her from being about to open the door completely to get out
It's not a lock, but seems to confuse the hell out of your average adult as to how it opens. Especially if they're just reaching in and can't see it. Benefit is that it doesn't use any new screw holes and just slides in around the existing dead bolt.

Dont know if the sticker strap would ruin the window. They have screw on versions. If u sized the u-bolt properly into the handle and the knob it should hold. I'd be slightly concerned about scratching the hardware. But you could put a bit of duct tape on the inside of the u and the bar to stop that. And if my son EVER saw me unscrew those nuts he would be on a mission to do the same and they could be a choking hazard. I'd solve that by wrapping the threads with grey plumber's tape after securing it or a little bit of super glue.
Edit for final idea. Depending on the window sill you could possibly take part of a rubber door stop and softly hammer it into the top to jam it shut
i'll take it a step further.
These drawer/cabinet locks are my favorite. They are really easy to open with the key but are otherwise invisible so you dont see them everywhere.
Bonus: adults without kids have no idea how to open them either lol
I don't think you could do it on that style economically. I'd suggest just doing a magnetic child lock on each drawer. I have these and installed correctly the drawer will break before you get into it without the magnet. Invisible from the outside.
Can you switch to another baby proofing system? This one opens with a magnetic key. Might be a pain, but should keep baby safe, if they can’t strong arm the cabinets open.
I did a wuicj search on amazon and this popped up. Would this work?

I sympathize as all my kids are like this. ALL my kids. I've got the world's biggest 3 year old (I legit got locking rolling carts because at 18 months he could casually reach into the knife drawer and pull out a butcher's knife in one hand and a santoku knife in the other) and 2 year old twin climber/acrobats.
I've got no solution for cupboards, because, yeah. For things like rooms I don't want them in, including the bathroom, I'm using these: door monkeys. Because our downstairs is open concept, I've legit had a pantry shed built and am in the process of inventorying and moving everything and there's a padlock on the door. For the rest, door monkeys and baby gates.
There are child proof deadbolt covers too, they slip over the existing deadbolt and dont hamper the deadbolt operation. They are landlord friendly.

If you would be open to using a door lock, I've bought this product 5 times from Amazon. The only thing you'd need to be careful of is putting it up high enough that he can't climb up to unlatch it. But it leaves about a 2" gap in the door open.
I had an older metal gate that required 2 hands to open, but they don't sell it anymore. This gate has the same type of lock, but the wooden version was a piece of crap.
Edited because reading comprehension is hard on the weekends.
I use these. The latches are hidden behind the door so my daughter can't see the mechanism to learn out to open it. The glue is strong but the trade off for that is you need a hair dryer to remove it

3M makes some that are just adhesive.
We use them in our house. I will say you really need to clean the surfaces or they'll pop loose.
My kid figured those out so quickly too. We switched to these. You do have to stick the 3M pad on the cabinet but it comes off with goo gone eventually.
I wonder if a pinch guard like this one would make your husband feel better? The door is mostly closed and you just put it high enough up on the door so you can reach it but LO can't.
