Probably my favorite book ever is When Marnie Was There. It's just perfect and heartwarming and wise, it's one of those books you know the author is awakened even those there's not much mystical about the book. There is some magic though, but beautifully restrained. To give you an idea, Studio Ghibli actually made a movie out of it cause it's really their vibe.
Wow super informative! Thank you for taking the time to write that out! I had one quick question regarding the RPing. Where would I go to give RPing a try?
Also, you helped me decide on what I want my fursona's story to be. I will just adapt the story of my favorite book (Wolves of the Beyond) and make my guy the main character. I don't know if I will do any writing but I just like to keep these ideas ready in case a situation arises that I need it.
Again, thank you!
Thanks for letting us know! John Bellairs was great. I was a huge fan of his Lewis Barnavelt series. The House With a Clock in Its Walls absolutely blew my mind, I loved that book as a youngster. As someone already mentioned, his standalone The Face in the Frost is truly excellent as well. The Johnny Dixon books were a lot of fun. The series was way more creepy than you might expect. It was always such a fun adventure though and the funny parts were done incredibly well. I can't vouch for the ones that were completed posthumously though, I'm not familiar with the author.
The first Anthony Monday book is also free https://www.amazon.com/Treasure-Alpheus-Winterborn-Anthony-Monday-ebook/dp/B00J84L4K4/ I never had a chance to read any of that series, I blame my school library for not carrying it back then.
Bellairs was a fantastic writer and I hope his work continues finding people. I was so glad when I saw that someone will be covering John Bellairs for the r/fantasy author appreciation on February 1st.

Oh oops I thought you said audiobook for some reason, my reading comprehension is garbage. Anyway it looks like the Unauthorized Autobiography is available for Kindle here! Having a hard time finding Beatrice Letters though. I found some pdf downloads but there's a high possibility that they're just actual viruses.
I mean, there's Felix in Waistcoats and Weaponry (smudging and all!), but I'm hard-pressed to think of other examples.
